tonight a massive wild fire is sending smoke pouring across the bay area. taking a look at the cameras at sunset tonight, it can be beautiful, but all the smoke is bringing back memories of the devastating fire season last year. good evening. people with being ordered to evacuate from their homes. we have more from the fire lines. >> a giant plume of smoke fills northern california area, about 50 miles northwest of sacramento, the county fire

exploded to more than 8,000 acres in just a few hours saturday. >> it's skmot windy good the terrain is rugged in there, and it's the elevation is pretty high. that was a challenge. >> temperatures well over 100 degrees, mixed with high winds against bone dry brush have brought the flames out of control. that enormous blaze is continuing through the evening and it lighting up the night sky, firefighters will be working through the evening, trying to get a grasp on the fire, no word on whether homes or buildings have been damaged or destroyed. abc news. in lake county, there's new mandatory evacuations, the smoke from this fire has drifted in to the bay area and we have gotten a lot of calls about us. the camera caught the smoke
