live where you live, this is abc 7 news. a mblg fiery deaths of three dozen people could be on the verge of cutting a deal with prosecutors. i'm dan ashley. >> we could find out whether tomorrow both defendants have agreed to plea deals. their attorneys met behind closed doors with the judge this afternoon. >> lillian kim is in the newsroom with what's at stake here. >> a hearing is scheduled for tomorrow. if a plea deal is approved, the defendants would avoid the max sentence of 39 years. attorneys for the defendants in the criminal case left the judge's chambers this afternoon.

the meeting lasted no more than a half hour. the judge has ordered everyone to keep quiet. has a plea agreement been reached? >> i can't talk about >> the ghost ship's master tenant would be sentenced to nine years in jail while max harris wou be sentenced to six years. >> you have the death of 36 people. that is a horrible tragedy. what the judge is saying this was a criminal negligence case. no one wanted this to happen. >> legal analyst steven clark says the judge likely acknowledges that others are responsible for the 2016 fire including the city of oakland which let the ghost ship operate without the proper permits despite conditions inside. >> the civil case against the landlord and other governmental entities can move forward and

that can bring restitution to the victims' families. >> a plea deal would avoid a jury trial which is scheduled to begin july 16th and would last up to four months. now, you can be the first to know if a plea deal is reached by downloading our free abc 7 news app and enabling push alerts. we'll also bring the verdict live. an enormous wildfire saturday nearly doubled in size today. the county fire is now at 60,000 acres and has spread to napa and lake countys. firefighters spent the day constructing new containment lines. tonight 116 structures remain threatened with many areas under evacuation orders or advisories. another thousand firefighters have been added to the front lines. business owners in the affected areas say this is not the holiday they were hoping for.

>> we were hoping with fourth of july being on a wednesday that this whole week would give us a bump, but obviously with the fire it's not happening. >> firefighters told the press democrat they hope to have the fire out by july 10th. there are new evacuation advisories that affect markley cove resort and pleasure cove resort. a satellite has picked up the vast amount of smoke from the fire. you can see it in these images for the national weather service for the bay area. let's get to sandy patel with more. >> the winds have been shifting, which is pushing smoke away from our area. take a look at what is very interesting. it is cooler, 78 degrees. relative humidity is double what it was this afternoon, 49%, thanks to a west wind which is

transporting that cooler marine air in. winds will shift again from west to north as we head toward tomorrow morning. that's going to blow more smoke into our area and it's going to get gusty again. it gets cooler the next couple of days. triple digits return. this is from sunnyvale sent to me from twitter, that smoke drifting into the bay area. vacaville showing you those smoke layers. a large fire in moraga is under control tonight. it burned more than 45 acres, about a block from a high school. people have been allowed back into their homes tonight. firefighters are going to stay on the scene to keep an eye out for any flare-ups. demonstrators are setting up

headquarters in san francisco. kate larson joining us live from there now with the latest. kate? >> reporter: there are about a hundred people outside the i.c.e. headquarters right now. many have told me they do not want to be on camera, but i can tell you there are many tents set up on the sidewalk right now. people tell me they do plan to spend the night and occupy the space to cameras were rolling when congressman jeff denim rang the bell at a center for immigrant children in pleasant hill. someone from the facility let him know he could not go inside. >> you could confirm with both hhs and let our counterparts at the white house know we were coming. >> what i've been told by them

that is pretty typical for the summer time, as you know. i want to show you a sunset. it includes the marine layer and the smokey skies. very reddish hue to the senate tonight because of all that smoke. it will be with us first thing tomorrow morning. before we get to that, let's talk about live doppler 7 right now. we do have low clouds and fog along the coast and parts of the bay as well. most of you in the 50s and 60s. you can see that marine layer from our kgo roof camera right now. smokey in the morning, improving in the afternoon, breezy and cooler for the fourth of july. we are looking at a warmer pattern for the end of the week. so do expect the heat to return, but not immediately. here's your planner for tomorrow morning. it's going to be mild inland at noonti noontime. for the afternoon and evening,

expect it to be breezy, upper 50s to the mid 80s. you can see pretty socked in view of san francisco. that's what you're going to have to deal with tomorrow morning along with the hazy skies due to all that smoke, temperatures primarily in the 50s with the fog and the low clouds around. for the afternoon, we hang onto some of the clouds near the coastline, temperatures ranging from 59 in half moon bay all the way to 85 in antioch. pretty mild day overall for your tuesday, not where you should be for this time of year. fourth of july is going to be cooler than average as well. fog right around the coastline into san francisco and parts of the east bay. you have to really head inland to get the clear skies on july 4th. i would grab a sweatshirt or a jacket. many of these places will be dropping down to the 50s. livermore and san jose in the
