journal. marin county has sent 76 firefighters, 10 fire engines and a bulldozer north to fight the fires. and they still have some firefighters out with injuries from last year's season which ran late. they have been out since early last week on the flat fire, then the county and pawnee fires. they say the worst part is that it is not even considered the busy time of year yet. this is unusual for june. fire officials tell the ij it is also getting tougher to recruit seasonal help in the tight job market, especially because of the booming construction industry. add all this together and fire departments are stretched thin and they're asking for help. they want everyone in marin county to remember fireworks are not allowed here. and they really need everyone to follow the rules. they say conditions are dry. we have had red flag warnings and people need to be aware that fireworks are not permitted. and on this holiday, firefighters will be taking a

to rescue a youth soccer team and their coach. make no mistake, this thing could take a really long time. in fact, we believe take months. they have already gone underground since june 23rd. that's how long that team has been there. floodwaters trapped them, and for now, rescuers are actually supplying this team with four months worth of food. they're hoping that water levels go down, but they say they could be down there for that long. officials say one option to get out is to teach them to swim using special breathing mavs. they're also looking for, i should say, entrances or exits that they could use. >> if they are in a place in the cave that is safe from further flooding, then the safest option is to just keep supplying them in the cave with food and of the ability to purify water. and wait for the the bump pumps draw it down enough for them to come out through dry passage. >> now, we're told these kids, despite being down there, have
5:37 am

5:38 am
i looked around. i saw the man on the ground with his foot kind of twisted in the opposite direction. >> we still don't know what caused the explosion. it remains under investigation. you are never more than seven minutes away from my accuweather forecast. let's start with the temperatures in the north bay where we begin with tiburon at 51. and we end at vallejo at about 58. in between, a lot of 53 to 55-degree temperatures. even up to clear lake, cooler this morning. let's take a look around the rest of our neighborhoods. tracey at 60, and then daley city at 51. a lot of us at 54 to 58. about the same as yesterday. here's a look at some of the clouds that are moving into the bay as we speak. shooting across the san bruno gap and over the san mateo bridge right now. dry all day today, unlike tomorrow with a chance of drizzle if there is a morning commute in the holiday. ferry ride choppy, and mass transit cool this morning but a little warm this afternoon.
