still be seeing the low clouds, temperatures in the 50s and 60s. by this afternoon, the highs will reach the near 80 temperature mark in the inland areas, mid 70s, around the bay, upper 50s at the coast, the fog starts to move in along the coast and the bay tonight with temperatures in the 50s. hi, alexis, how is it going? >> good morning, frances. doing pretty well. check out the traffic maps, pretty much exclusively in the green. we have had a couple rollover crashes this morning. they are both in the clearing stages. one on northbound 880 around the maze totally gone. we still have reports of the fire department on the scene here at eastbound 80 near appian way in the hercules ar another rollover crash and a person hit some debris. no delays approaching that. check this out, the richmond side of the richmond san raphael bridge, i am not seeing any at the moment. you should have an easy commute.

late drive times coming up. >> now a live desk update, from "abc 7 mornings." >> good morning, fourth of july not starting well in san jose. this new video we're just getting into our live desk. at least two grass fires have broken out in the past few hours. you can see firefighters there battling those flames. one fire at zenker and mccarthy lane. the firefighters found a one acre vegetation fire and immediately had to call in for more help. there have been gusty winds in the area but firefighters appear to have things under control in that location. then 30 minutes later, so about 2:00 this morning, another grass fire sparked at the transition of southbound 280 and southbound 101. at last check the grass was burning uphill towards 280. we're waiting for more is dry. be careful throughout the holiday today and we'll have an update as soon as we get one

the suspect to the ground. investigators found 54-year-old marta redmond beaten to death at her house one block away. a 24-year-old man is in custody accused in the killing of a security guard. 61-year-old rolando romero was working at a construction project near candlestick point when he got shot monday and died at the hospital. his family gave us these pictures. police say they have aarrested 24-year-old cardell coleman. no details on what led up to the shooting. charges against the man accused in a violent purse snatching could become more serious. 29-year-old otto alafehi knocked 93-year-old ann peterson to the ground. she died last month. the contra costa district attorney is looking to charge

him with murder. one high-profile name competing to redevelop the fort winfield scott campus in presidio. tesla ceo elon musk wants to revitalize the property. presidio.gov shared the photos. vacant 22 building property spans 30 acres making it one of the largest development sites in san francisco outside of downtown and mission bay. the presidio trust which oversees the site will hold a public hearing on july 25th and pick a developer next year. all right. good morning. i'm frances dinglasan. we're starting off with a look at live doppler 7 and the satellite image and low clouds and fog along the coast spilling into parts of the east bay as well. temperatures in the 50s for the most part with the exception of los gatos at 48 degrees. hayward 60 degrees right now. you'll notice the on shore breeze will bring us cooler temperatures below average today. look for a high of 63 in san

francisco, san raphael 69 and richmond and oakland 68, san jose 77 and some of the warmest spots will be in the low 80s like antioch, lake port, ukiah at 84. if you're heading to the beaches, partly cloudy, grab a jacket because of the strong sea breeze at 20 to 30 miles per hour, it will be pretty cool. and also here is a look at the kauai seven-day forecast. temperatures below average today. mid 70s inland area near 80. we are going to warm things back up and it will be really warm this weekend. saturday, sunday and monday will see the 90s in the inland areas and around the bay in the 80s. alexis, is it finally holiday light? >> it definitely is holiday light. we started off with a couple pretty serious crash, rollovers, those are in the clearing stages and we are just counting cars out there this morning because, well, i think we are the only five people at work today. maybe a few more. but no bay bridge metering

dinglasan. here are current conditions for the county fire. temperatures have dropped down to 64 degrees. relative humidity has climbed up to 57%. notice the winds, they're coming from the west/northwest with gusts 15 miles per hour and the winds continue to move from the west. that brings better air equality to the bay area and poorer air quality to tahoe and with yosemite. >> [ inaudible ]. >> dramatic dash cam video shows a suspect shooting at l.a. police officers during a chase. this video is actually taken in may. you can see the suspect lean out of the passenger side window and start firing with what officers say was a shotgun. the officers being shot ended up crashing their cruiser but no one got hurt. the two suspects were later arrested. a new study finds that an hpv test may be more effective at detecting precancer than a pap smear. the pap smear involves looking for cancer or precancer cells

>> good morning. protesters have dug in, they are well stocked and the encampment spread on to the street on washington. san francisco police have a patrol car down the block, but so far no interaction. now at noon today, protesters are holding a fourth of july theamed block i.c.e. block party. organizers say it's not a celebration for the fourth of july, instead it's a celebration of resistance. the occupy i.c.e. san francisco encampment at the immigration and customs enforcement at washington and sampson street started monday and they've blocked multiple entrances with fencing and sign. this is one of several protest sites across the country following a weekend of marches in opposition to the administration's family separation policy. i.c.e. released a statement yesterday saying the agency respects the right to protest but that it will follow federal law and agency protocol. at this point protesters tell me they are not -- declining an interview and they will release a statement later today. live in san francisco, katie

utehs, abc 7 news. plea deals offered by the defendants in the ghost ship fire have been accepted by the alameda d.a.'s office. family members of the 36 people who died say it's not enough. derek almena got nine years, will likely serve three and a half, max harris got six, but should be out in less than two years. they ran the warehouse and pleaded no contest to involuntary manslaughter resulting in convictions on all 36 counts. we heard from one man who lost his 20-year-old daughter ma kayla. >> we just wanted some justice, some fair justice, and we don't feel that in our opinion it was fair justice. >> had almena and harris gone to trial and found guilty, they would have likely spent the rest of their lives in prison. the ghost ship fire claimed 36 lives. we have not forgotten them. read stories about each victim on our website, abc7news.com. now a live desk update. >> from "abc 7 mornings."

>> developments in thailand while you were sleeping and the young soccer players trapped in a flooded cave will likely have to spend at least one more day under ground. i want show you new video we got overnight. you see them getting some treatment on their feet and also their legs. that's for some minor cuts they have. they also got some of the mylar blankets to keep them warm. thai navy s.e.a.l.s. are down with the 12 boys and coach trying to help them out. the problem here is how to get this team out safely from the cave. some of the boys have been practicing wearing diving masks and breathing so they can swim out if it comes to that. a lot of them can't swim. it's a really tough operation. they have been trapped underground since june 23rd and racing the clock right now because they could see more rain and more water and going into that cave throughout the week. so we are keeping our fingers crossed and keeping our eye on the situation as it develops. back to you. >> thanks. a wildfire is forcing more evacuations this morning in napa

county. >> the county fire, it has burned nearly 113 square miles. you can see that here. the napa sheriff's office says there are no homes in the evacuation area but are looking for campers. a mandatory evacuation order is in effect for yolo county. the flames threatened 1,000 homes and businesses. this fire started on saturday and it is 15% contained. more than 2600 fire personnel are fighting the flames. in lake county, cal fire expects full containment of the pawnee fire by saturday. all evacuations lifted. the fire burned 15,000 acres and destroyed more than 20 buildings since the broke out a week and a half ago. right now it is 85% contained. a man who is homeless faces arson charges in connection with 17 brush fires in the north bay. police arrested domingo bautista bautista on monday. he's being held on $01,000 bail. all of the small fires started over a two-day period last month. they happened along the santa rosa creek trail and west county

trail in grayton. investigators think he rode the trails on his bicycle and used a lighter to set the fires. new details on the stretch of highway 1 in big sur that's been closed due to a massive slide. caltrans plans to have it back open by july 20th according to the "l.a. times." the slide which happened last mayberried the road and wiped out about a quarter mile section of it, well ahead of the initial reopening date which was supposed to be in the middle of september. crews have been working around the clock to fix it. the price tag for the repairs, $54 million. all right. you're never more than 7 minutes away from the accuweather forecast. here's a look at live doppler 7 and the satellite image. gray skies, low clouds right now that are pulling in from the coast into parts of the north bay and parts of the east bay. temperatures mainly in the 50s. san francisco 56, oakland currently 58, san jose 58 degrees as well.

santa cruz 68, 68 in oakland, san mateo 68. sunshine inland low 80s possibly in antioch and san jose sunnier at 77 as well. so the clouds will stick around during the morning hours, pull back, and then start to creep right back in around 9:00 and 10:00. so it may be difficult to view some of the fireworks especially in san francisco where we will start to see the fog just moving right past the golden gate bridge. we'll be clear in the south bay and interior areas and grab a jacket because temperatures will be cooling down in santa rosa, only 55, locker roivermore, 60,e 54, traffic is light right now in san francisco. it will be busy tonight but alexis has been tracking all that for you. >> yeah. the streets basically empty at this point. but as we all know, everyone trying to leave at the same time after the fireworks show is going to be translating into a major traffic jam. be prepared for that. i'm sure you already are. but we also have road closures

away from your accuweather forecast. >> this is "abc 7 mornings." >> good morning. i'm meteorologist frances dinglasan. mostly sunny and mild if you're headed to the a's game at the coliseum. temperatures will be in the mid to upper 60s. grab sunscreen and a jacket. it will be breezy as well. a group of bystanders sprang into action to save a woman at a boston train station. her leg got stuck in the gap between the train and platform on friday. in the security camera video just released yesterday, you can see this group of commuters pushing on the train so they could free her and ended up doing so. they were able to at least get her leg out. the woman and this is what's depressing about this, she asked people not to call an ambulance

because she can't afford the cost. they called it anyway because she needed help and the paramedics took her to the hospital to be treated for a leg injury. the federal aviation administration says it is not going to get involved in the debate over small airline seats. consumer groups had gone to court demanding federal regulations on seat size. they claimed smaller seat space with the larger size of today's passengers is creating a safety issue in the event of an evacuation. the faa says there is no immediate safety issue. a couple notes if you are a netflix user or thinking of joining the growing throng of streamers. a survey done found that the sevice was the top choice for tv viewing beating out cable at this point. the news comes as the los gatos based company is mulling over the idea of adding another plan. c-net reports netflix is testing an ultraservice and white allow users to stream ultrahd video. netflix offers three plans with
