a block party in san francisco is far from your normal fourth of july celebration. protesters are vowing to block i.c.e. the occupy i.c.e. encampment is growing by the day. it covers a city sidewalk and street. >> reporter: the occupy encampment has doubled since yesterday taking over one lane of washington street. let me show you the scene behind

me. they are well supplied. made makeshift fences and covered a security camera on the side of the building. sfpd has officers at the end of the street. there's been no interak, just observations. they blocked entrances. instead of celebrating the fourth of july in the tradition sense, they are holding a block i.c.e., block party. organizers call it celebration of resistance. protester have set up at i.c.e. buildings across the country following a weekend odd marches to the family separation policy. >> we are not united under the banner of the destruction of i.c.e. >> reporter: the protest has not interrupted or change court operations so far according to court representatives.

the fire by saturday. all evacuations are now lifted. the fire has burned 15,000 acres and destroyed more than 20 buildings since it broke out a week and a half ago. right now it's 90% contained. use fir in san jose.ils on this dramaticages. firefighhi ho arodtarted as a garage fire before spreading to the kitchen and beyond. firefighters had to deal with downed wires here. a couple of homes had to be evacuated but no injuries were reported. it took about half an hour to bring this under control and the cause is still under investigation. san jose investigators were called out to two grass fires this morning. they had their hand full. it broke out just before 1:30 a.m. first responding units arrived to find one acre of vegetation on fire. they immediately called for another engine. about 30 minutes later a grass fire ignited at the transition of southbound 280 and 101.

we have a stronger sea breeze and it's pushing the clouds across the bay. you can see with live doppler 7 and the satellite image. it's also means that we have a westerly flow at the county fire. conditions right now is currently 70 degrees. relative humidity is close to 50% and the winds are gusting from the west up to 16 miles an hour. there's an air quality alert for the central valley.

oakland, 68. partial sunshine for the afternoon game. the a's game there. our inland areas will have a tough time getting into the low 80s because of the stronger sea breeze bringing cooler temperatures. here is the fireworks forecast. notice the deeper push of the fog. pushing across the bay from the golden gate down to the san mateo bring into parts of the east bay. not great viewing there. it will be clear many the bay and also intierior valleys. temperatures will be on a the cool side. also if you're heading to the beach, look out for beach hazards tomorrow through saturday. really big waves. strong rip currents and some sneaker waves. the biggest will be on friday. we're below average today. things really turn around on thursday.

check out this sink hole in minnesota. the road just opened up yesterday after some heavy rain and more rain is expected today. the driver here was just a 16-year-old who only had his license for about a month. he says he managed to climb out the back window and wasn't hurt thanks to his seat belt and air bag. san jose very own joey chestnut set a world record at the nathan's hot dog eating contest. he chomped down a record breaking 74 franks and buns at the famous fourth of july contest. that is his 11th win. it's hard to watch. joey beat the previous record set last year of 72. the woman's champion, miki sudo
