breaking through, even some laughter. those 12 boys and their coach trapped deep within a cave in thailand have been examined by a doctor and are said to be alive in surprisingly good health, being treated for minor scrapes and bruises. the group is rail thin. medical experts warn -- >> they're breaking down a lot of muscle even though they're incredibly sedd incredibly sed den tarry. >> with more rain in the forecast this week, the real test will be getting them out safely. none of the options are easy. one is waiting for the rainy season to pass. taking weeks if not months. another is teaching the boys who don't know how to swim to scuba dive. the cave complex is about 6 miles long. the boys and their coach are here, a half mile jound ground and a little over one mile from the cave's entrance. according to the british diving team who found them. to get there, divers had to navigate a maze of caverns and

of time for ticks to be active. another theory is that the spread of tick's hosts, mainly deer, is getting bigger. they're in more places, which means ticks are in more places, which means that we have a greater chance of running across them. >> the best way to avoidatic-borne infection is not to get bitten in the first place, by always usen an effective insect repellent. the extensive testing of repellents found products that contain between 15% and 30% deet are best at repelling ticks, along with products with 20% picaridin, or 30% oil of lemon eucalyptus. to make your yard less attractive to ticks, keep your lawn mowed, remove leaves and other debris, and try to let as much sun into your yard as possible. a border of woodchips or bark style mulch around your property can also help create a barrier to keep ticks from entering.

>> reporter: if you're one of the thousands expected to pack discovery meadow tonight, we have some good news, there will be no flights impacting your fireworks show. that's because the san jose airport will briefly shut down its two runways between 9:30 and 10:00 tonight. that means for the first time no airplanes will be taking off or landing in the half-hour of the show. an airport spokeswoman says it was decided this was the right course of action after the faa raised safety concerns. we're told this small shutdown will likely impact three commercial flights, taxis and terminals will remain open. minimal impact. it's important for us to be able to offer this to our community and under the leadership of our mayor we're really pleased that this is the case and that everybody can enjoy the fireworks safely. and enjoy a community event. >> reporter: and one thing many don't enjoy, though, street and highway closures. now, for those
