. >> announcer: good morning, east bay. let's get up and get going. >> announcer: this is abc 7 mornings. right now at 5:00, a beach warning as we are heading into the weekend. >> the area that is will see the biggest waves. and good morning to you on this friday, july 6. hope you are doing well. >> with the weekend around the corner if you haven't had enough time off already you're never more than 67 minutes away from the forecast that means our meteorologist mike. let's talk more about that beach hazard statement. and we're seeing are south facing beaches plagued by rip current and sneaker waves. the waves aren't that big but going to come in with a lot of frg. especially in marin and santa cruz counties on the south facing beaches through 5:00 tomorrow evening. be careful don't turn yar your back on the water. let's talk about why you may want to go there. because the temperatures in the mid-60s while the rest us in the 80s and 90s this afternoon with a touch of humidity in the air also we'll have high clouds and sunshine. we're already starting off warmer this morning with the

breaking news in martinez. a health advisory issued because of an incident at the shell refinery. >> you'll see a picture on the right that is the new video from the refinery. we should note that the smoke you see there is normal. on the left is the area that refinery officials say people could develop where people could develop respiratory issues. shell says that eye, skin, nose or throat irritation may be possible for some. if you experience that you are advised to go inside and rinse irritated areas of your body with water. now we just got a statement from the refinery. it says in part the warning is out of caution and quote to thint we have for the seen anything on our fence line monitors or through our community monitoring. we are communicating with county health and will continue to provide updates as the situation resolves itself. you can stay with abc 7 news and our abc 7 news appfare more updates. today one of san francisco's busiest and most construction laiden arteries gets trickier. >> because vanness is losing

another left turn. and and in and of itself may not seem like a big deal. but when you look at the big picture it's a another step in the yearslong process to change how people travel across the city. matt kjeller is live in san francisco. matt. >> reporter: good morning, natasha and reggie it might be a headache this morning. you can see the pilens and signs out here at hays street. this is a massive $360 million project to improve congestion on vanness and another phase under way today. today the mumble transportation agency says crews will shut down another left turn and busy vanness this time at hayes street. look at this map. it shows the area impacted. . the mta is removing the left turn northbound from vanness on to hayes street if. that means vanness has two remaining left turn northbound at lom boeder and southbound at broadway. the mta says it gives drivers about a week to get comfortable

contained. 3,400 firefighters are right now fighting this on the front lines. to back to the live look in thailand. you can see the rescuers outside the caves where the youth soccer team and coach are trapped. you can see conversations going on and gear all over the place there. a thai navy seal unfortunately died yesterday during a mission. he ran out of oxygen and died dlifrpg oxygen tanks to the cave where the boys and coach are trapped. that seal was a volunteer. and he was one of about 85 thai navy seals taking part in the mission. the soccer team and coach have been in the cave 13 days now at least two of the boys are malnourished. it takes divers five hours each way to each the boys. and the death so tragedy of course. underscores how dangerous that journey is. jahi mcmath is going to be buried in oakland. in twees are december of 130 she underwent a tonsillectomy at children's hospital and suffered
