dinglasan. hi, frances. >> hi, chris. it will be a beautiful and hot summer day. here's the satellite image and just some clouds off the coast and lots of clear skies around the bay area and that will allow the day to warm up. here's your 12-hour day planner. very limited coastal fog with temperatures in the 50s and 60s. we will be quickly warming up for lunchtime in the mid-80s and mid-70s around the bay and it's still cooler at the coast in the low 60s. now mild to hot temperatures this afternoon. inland areas warming up to the mid-90s around the bay and look for the mid-80s, but the sea breeze keeps things cool in the mid-60s and still comfortable tonight with lots of clear skies and i'll let you know how long this warmth will last. >> frances, thanks. fire crews are working to fine out the cause of the three-alarm fire. it broke out on stephens creek boulevard. it's been vacant since last

year. firefighters were able to get the flames under control just after 1:30 this morning and thankfully no one was hurt. of their homes as a fast-moving fire burns in santa barbara county. it shows the area before the holiday fire and then as it burns in a neighborhood. the fire has already destroyed at least 20 homes since it started last night in goleta. more than 2200 people are evacuated. the fire started in a home and spread to nearby brush. officials say ooh burned 50 to 80 acres so far and the cause is under investigation. governor jerry brown has declared a state of emergency for a fire that broke out yesterday morning in san diego. that one is called the west fire and burned 400 acres in alpine. a dozen homes have been destroyed including a 130-year-old historic ranch. right now it's just 5% contained. >> i'm a little scared, a little worried, but we're holding up. it's just one of those things that's been said, you know, you

pay the price for living here in beautiful california, you know? of course, wildfires are one of the down side of it. >> several roads in the area remain closed this morning. hundreds of residents there have been evacuated. in siskiyou county evacuation orders remain in effect as crews battle the klamathon fire. it's already destroyed at least 40 structures and damaged two cemeteries. we learned one person has died. at last check, the fires burned 9600 acres and containment is at 5%. fire officials will hold a community meeting today about the county fire in the town of guinda. the fire itself has now burned more than 88,000 acres in napa and yolo counties and is 42% con takened. ten structures are destroyed and more than a hundred are threatened this morning. firefighters are concerned this weekend may be hotter and dryer with stronger winds. today's meeting starts at 4:00 this afternoon at guinda grange

bringing them out. now trapped for two weeks, these are pictures of new larrys the boys wrote to their parents and a letter from the coach. he is apologizing and thanking everyone for their support. abc news reporter elizabeth herr reports on how rescuers plan to get them all out. >> a plan to rescue the soccer time now more urgent than ever with heavy rains closing in and a new concern. oxygen supplies inside the cave shrinking. a former thai navy s.e.a.l., a volunteer rescue diver, died due to lack of oxygen. officials say simon kuhn an lost consciousness on a return dive from where the boys are stranded and he was in the process of placing air tanks along a possible evacuation route for the boys. utri s ty may bo o of e an the operation initially considered too dangerous. >> they cannot dive at this time. >> reporter: according to the governor the boys are still not

ready so the thai navy s.e.a.l.s are proposing to use a buddy dive season. pairing the boys up with an experienced diver who will guide them out. a journey nearly three miles long with some areas completely under water. >> another idea, drill through the rocks to reach the boys from above. so far we are told the teens have tried more than 100 holes to no avail. the boys have been learning how to breathe under water and if all goes well and this buddy dive system, the goal is to pull the boys out. elizabeth herr, abc news, new york. last year a suspicious fire burned a seven-story building at valdes and broadway. it followed a pair of arson ten months apart at a construction site in emoriville. this monday the city of oakland

time right now is 6:12. thanks so much for waking up with abc 7 news. we are taking a live look outside at alcatraz on this saturday morning. this view courtesy of our camera at pier 39. just how warm will it get? frances will let us know in the full forecast coming up, but first, three teenagers in the east bay are credited with saving a woman drowning in a pool. the near-death experience happened in alameda. carlos salcedo talked with the

teens who jumped into action. the apartments tohree jessica, kristine and george have earned for their actions tuesday night. the friends were exercising near the pool when they heard a man call for help. >> there was this woman on the bottom of a pool. >> reporter: the woman was deep in 8 1/2 feet of water, and it was difficult for anyone to get to her. >> i dived into the pool, but it was so hard because she was, like, all of the way under the pool. >> reporter: so the teens decided to team up and create a human chain. >> we all held hands and we pulled her together. all three of us, we helped her go on the side of the pool. >> reporter: once the woman was out of the pool she was given cpr, but inhaled too much water and had to be taken to alameda hospital. that's where the teens went to visit their new friend. 24-year-old zulaa amgalam as she recovered. >> we brought her flowers. it was, mobile. >> reporter: after four days,

test drives at the dublin, corte madera, and it hit its production target of 5,000 model 3s a week in fremont. now an accuweather update. >> good morning. i'm frances dinglasan. it will be a beautiful, sunny day with mild and hot conditions. what you will notice is the clouds are confined mainly to the coast starting to spill a little bit into san francisco and here is a live shot of the low clouds. just looking gorgeous. you see the top of the golden gate bridge. it's coming in, but it will quickly retreat and we'll see plenty of sunshine this afternoon and that will allow things to warm up. in san francisco, currently 57. oakland, 59. san jose and mountain view already in the mid-60s and gill roy, and 55 degrees and out toward san francisco and you see some of those coastal clouds there. more temperatures for you. lots of 60s through fairfield,

concord and livermore, 63 there and santa rosa has dropped to 61. if you're headed to the beach, there will be plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures and there will be beach hazards until 3:00 this afternoon and yeah it will be mild at the coast and temperatures will be hot inland and cooler temperatures not until the end of next week. so if you don't like the heat you may have to wait until about wednesday. highs today will range from 60s to morgan hill to hit 95, santa cruz, 80 degrees for you and 80s through milpitas and redwood city down to mountain view, 84 degrees and then again at the coast and pacifica, half moon bay and low 60s because of the breezy conditions and the winds will peck up in the afternoon to 20 miles per hour and downtown san francisco, pretty mild at 70 degrees and highs today will

also be in the upper 80s through 90s and petta lum a 88 degrees and look for 90 as well in napa. in the east bay, t-shirt and shorts weather and lots of conditions as well and berkeley, we will see the 80s through new york and fremont and it will be inland in the low to mid 90s and pleasanton around 92 degrees. beach hazard in effect until 3:00 and this is painly fmainly south-facing beaches. wave highs are starting to die down. this could mean strong rip currents and sneaker waves. never turn your back to the ocean when you're at the beaches. here is the accuweather seven-day forecast. so lots of sunshine. limited fog and hot inland, mid-90s around the bay and at the coast, mid-60s.

mid-70s around the bay and low 60s at the coast and a mild to hot day this afternoon. inland areas reaching the mid-90s around the bay and mid-80s at the coast and things will stay around the mid-60s and tell still be gorgeous, clear and mild tonight into tomorrow and i'll have your accuweather forecast coming up. chris? >> frances, thanks. >> developing news, thousands of people in santa barbara county are out of their homes after a fast-moving fire. this video shows a structure being destroyed by flames in goleta. firefighters say at least 20 homes have been destroyed and more than 2200 people are under a mandatory evacuation order. approximately 2,000 people are without power this morning. >> right now there are at least ten major wildfires burning from the oregon border down to southern california. a state of emergency has been declared for a fire that broke out yesterday morning in san diego county. the largest by far is still the countiy fire in napa and yolo

counties. that fire has burned 48,000 acres. ten structures have been destroyed and more than a hundred are threatened. firefighters expect full containment by thursday. the thai governor in charge of rescuing 12 boys and their soccer coach from a kay say the weather conditions are good for extraction. a proposed plan to have the boys buddy dive out of the cave with rescuers could be launched this weekend. in a letter the coach apologized to the boys' parents. the boys are well, but they miss their families. the volunteer divers are expected to arrive for the extraction. >> while the primary rescue plan moves forward there are backup plans in the works including from bay tech leader elon musk. abc 7 news reporter melanie

woodrow has more about the effort and the details of the underground conditions faced by the rescue team. >> reporter: elon musk joining the conversation on how to safely rescue the 12 boys and their coach. musk tweeting he's sendziing employees from his companies spacex and boring to help. also creating pods. >> if elon musk says it will help, i hope it will. >> reporter: he has extensive cave diving experience. >> it's extremely challenging to train somebody in those conditions to dive, let alone cape dive. >> reporter: divers have been teaching the boys diving and breathing techniques in preparation for the buddy dive plan. the accelerated time line will take advantage of the boys still having high oxygen levels. the boys are in relatively good health, but cave diving presents unique challenges. >> by virtue of the fact that you have an overhead above you

which means that you cannot ascend straight up if you need to exit the caffey, you have to go back the way that you entered. >> reporter: this map shows the narrow flooded passages the boys and their coach will have to get through. the first phase involves staging equipment and obstacles in the cave could be completed by 6:00 p.m. local time saturday. the second phase could start as early as sunday morning local time. >> and the plan is to bring the boys and their coach out of the cave the same way that they initially entered two weeks ago. in the newsroom, melanie woodrow, abc 7 news. a judge has refused to extend a deadline that forces the trump administration to reunite young children with their families. however, some specific cases may be extended giving the administration more time to match dna. the order says 101 children under the age of 5 must be reunited with their parents by tuesday, and about 2,000 older children must be reunited by

we are looking at the very limited fog creeping into san francisco and we'll get plenty of sunshine this afternoon and in san francisco it's currently 57 and oakland, 59 and mountain view in 64 and gill roy, 52, and here is a live shot from the east bay looking at the calm waters over the bay bridge and you see a little bit of clouds right near the tower and just at the base of it and temperatures will be warming up to above average in inland areas and santa rosa cooler at 58 degrees and napa 57 through fairfield, concord and livermore. check out the shot in san jose. you see the high clouds passing through. here's what you can expect for today. you will see mild temperatures because of the sea breeze, but it will be hot inland getting into the mid-90s. beach hazard stapltements in effect until 3:00.

you will have to wait until the end of the week because the hot weather will stick around for a while. highs range from 64 degrees in half moon bay all of the way up to 95 degrees in antioch. so if you're headed to the giants game, grab a hat and sunglasses and plenty of sunshine. it will be in the low 70s during the afternoon. we'll see upper 70s through oakland, san mateo and san jose, 89 degrees and in the north bay look for low 90s and san rafael, 84. the sea breeze will pick up this afternoon and along the coast. that's why temperatures will stay moderate there and we'll see gusts up to 20 miles per hour. also if you're headed to santa cruz it will be warming up to 80 degrees and again, dangerous surf and temperatures will be cool in the water and only 55 degrees right now. so be extra careful through the afternoon especially for south-facing beaches and there will be a three foot to seven foot southerly swell. never turn your back to the
