the nearby streets. and this is -- well close to -- populated areas. but the area that has burned thus far. at least off to the best of our knowledge appears to be pretty much open space. but this started about an hour ago. keep an eye on this as well as the the other fire that was, burning in san jose. burning in morgan hill. should be, should be, more clear. looks like we do have flames at the bottom of the screen there. we got to keep an eye on this. we will three out this edition of abc 7 news at 4:00. good afternoon. thank you. >> now, to today's other top story. cheers and jubilation today as the long and perilous rescue of a youth soccer team and coach in thailand finally ends. they're all safe after being trapped inside a flooded cave for more than two weeks. despite the successful rescue, doctors stress the boys are not out of the woods yet. >> abc news reporter, elizabeth herr live in new york with the

latest. elizabeth. >> larry, christen, the thai navy seals put it this way. don't know if it was a miracle or some science. yes the boys are out and all alive. they will spend the next week in the hospital. until they go home. they will not go home until they are clear of any infections. an incredible ending to a mission that seemed impossible just days ago. all 12 boys and their soccer coach rescued by a team of expert divers. guiding them through these dark and flooded passage ways. a journey nearly three miles long. abc's matt gutman was outside the cave when the news broke. >> really a moment of jubilation. that nobody thought any body here could pull off. and, you can iffa agimagine the the news was delivered. across thailand and the world, a huge sigh of every wl relieved, jubilant. >> classmates of the boys even making signs thanking the

rescuers and calling them our he rose. the governor noting this former thai navy seal, died a hero. after running out of oxygen during the mission. and now the road to recovery just beginning for these boys and their coach. all in an isolation unit at a local hospital, undergoing blood tests. at least two boys, suffering from pneumonia. but all set to be happy and even joking. they're now receiving medical and psychological evaluations. doctors think their young age was a factor in them surviving more than two weeks inside that cave. well, as for the coach, he has been criticized for takinghee, pratz e praised for keeping them alive. turns out while trapped inside the boys' parents wrote him a letter writing in part do not blame yourself, we are not angry. we're live in new york,

cal fire says the fire is now 45% contained. that's up from 40% yesterday. it is charred 36,500 acres. destroyed 82 structures. killed one person since it broke out last thursday. ne nearly 2800 firefighters are battling the blaze. firefighters make progress against the county fire in napa counties. this fire is 80% contained. certainly progress there. it damaged more than 90,000 acres and destroyed 20 structures since it broke out on june 30th. fire fighters are optimistic they will have this fully contained by thursday. now your accuweather foreca forecast. >> we talked about how the week would feature heightened fire fire. we will take you into the south bay. temperaturewise. santa teresa now. 90 degrees. sky 7 over the

rt to te bart issu overareahep where tderal lawsuit against t federal transit administration. this is on top of another lawsuit the sharks filed in may against the vta managing the bart extension project. both lawsuits say the vta did not plan for lost parking or how construction would impact the venue. >> opponents of an initiative to split california into three states want the supreme court the state supreme court that is to pull the measure from the ballot. the initiative calls for breaking the state into northern california, which will containt bay area, orange part. california. the blue part. which would contain monterey, santa barbara, los angeles. and southern california, the green part, which would contain inland areas like fresno and san bernardino. but also san diego. a lawsuit filed yesterday by a group called planning and conservation league argue it is too drastic a change to state government to go through the

office with the latest. >> reporter: the sheriff's office staying optimistic. a family of modest means. they did come up with the money for the reward. $10,000. that they're offering. they also brought a drone to try off to comb the area where they think hernandez may be. >> reporter: she drove from the los angeles area to look for her younger sister in half moon bay. 23-year-old angela hernandez missing since friday morning. >> i hope to find my sister and bring here home. >> reporter: hernandez left portland in her 2011 white jeep patriot headed to lancaster in southern california. thursday night she texted one of her sisters to say she was parking behind this safeway in half moon bay to sleep. >> she slept in the safeway parking lot in the back. according to her statement right now we do have detectives

following up on the video footage from safeway to see if we can gather any evidence there. >> the san mateo county sheriff's office told us there had been a homeless encampment in the past but of the owner of the property had cleaned up the area. hernandez apparent leap left this location friday morning, we know that because she texted one of her sisters to say, that she was on her way. headed south. >> angela always answered her phone and always replied. and by, she left here, right before 8:00 a.m. by 10:00, isabelle called her. angela wasn't answering. ring and go to voice mail. >> reporter: it takes sick hours to get from half moon bay to lancaster. by friday night, her family had reported her missing. investigators were able to ping her phone, showing that it was in the davenport area, less than an hour south of half moon bay. the santay sher ofce flew over the area yesterday, and found no trace of

francisco's missio bay neighborhood. she will be buried on saturday. >> today, more than 30 immigrant children under the age of 5 are being reunited with their parents. that's fewer though than half of the 100 or so kids in custody. abc news reporter, natalie brunell has the the latest. 3 children under the age of 5 and hhs custody expected to be reunited with their parents by end of tuesday. just a day ago that number was expected to be over 50. but the trump administration revealing, 27 of the 102 youngest children aren't eligible for reunification by the deadline. some have parents with serious criminal histories. some adults were found by dna testing, not to be parents of the children. and in at least one case, officials found evidence of child abuse. a federal judge asked the zbuft off to provide information on who can't be reunited yet and why. >> he did not extend the
