city hall. >> reporter: it is about to get started. set for 11:00 this morning and look at the impressive setup and crowd here. look at the stage, huge monitors, gorgeous flowers. and this crowd. a spokesperson tells me there are 2400 seats for general admission and 900 reserved. they are all about full and they are allowing obviously a standing room crowd to gather here. many of the guests tell us they are here because they want to witness history. london breed did pop out on to the stage this morning briefly to practice her speech. she appeared serious and calm. she will become the city's first african-american female mayor when she takes that oath. the ceremony is set to start at 11:00 a.m. on a wednesday, that is tough for some people to make obviously, people have to be at work, but those here tell me they made the effort because they are proud 6 hof her and excited. >> my business partner said we need to be there because it will

be an historic moment. so we got up at 6:00, came on over. had breakfast and now we're in line. >> it is very humbling to see how far she's come from supervisor now mayor. and we're on to a california legislator next. so i'm excited to be here to celebrate this momentous occasion. >> reporter: here she is, this is a shot of her this morning practicing her speech. we know that many dignitaries will be here to watch her today. we saw baseball great willie mays arriving, we know oakland mayor will be here. former mayer gavin newsom is expected to wearler her in. there will be the san francisco gay men's choir, we've been listening to a high school jazz band play this morning as people arrive. and really good news, t cat.morning, but i suns now shining on london breed as she prepares to become the new mayor. after this ceremony, she is expected to go and greet people

from a security company here near east poplar. at 6:04, you see a truck pull up on to the sidewalk and then you see law enforcement come into view. this was in front of the taroria. law enforcement is not providing any information. they assisted in a multijurisdictional criminal investigation that included certainly and arrest warrants at a number of locations within san mateo. one neighbor we spoke to told us what she heard. san mateo police say no shots were fired. they were actually flash bangs used as a distractionary device. into word on how many arrests were made, but people here said they heard what was taking place, they heard someone was yelling that they had a warrant for someone and that they were being arrested. atf says they will release more information when they get it.

matt keller, abc 7. new developments in the search for a missing oregon woman in the bay area. abc 7 news has learned that the search party this morning for angela hernandez has been canceled due to new information in the case. the 23-year-old has been missing since friday. she was driving from portland to southern california when she stopped to sleep behind a safeway in half moon bay. hernandez texted her sister and hasn't been heard from since. san mateo county sheriff tweeted we are following up on a lead for the find angela hernandez case. many thanks to everyone for helping spread the word. we will keep you posted right here for the latest information. major progress in the effort to contain a fire in santa clara county. the fire is now 90% contained. since yesterday afternoon, it has burned 100 and i can er o0 . ibm building and a school had to be evacuated. >> i don't think i've come this

and sticking with the story for a moment, a photo-op for nato spouses. you see there melania trump is next to the french first lady and partner of belgian's prime minister. the first lady has a schedule of her own events this week as well as some with the president. there is a push happening right now to make green days american idiot number one in the uk. protesters are trying to troll president trump as he is set to arrive in the uk tomorrow. the berkeley based band hasn't actually commented on the push, but they have been very vocal about their opposition to the president. the protesters plan appears to be working. american idiot is now number one on the amazon uk best seller's list. it is currently 18 on the official charts. not bad considering that song came out in 2004. a chain of shopping centers in california shares data with a u.s. immigration customs

you're looking at new video of the newly rescued thai soccer team in the hospital today. their families watching from the other side of a glass window waiting to be reunited. lynda lopez has more on the team's long road to recovery. >> reporter: the 12 soccer players and their coach now safely recovering from the hospital after their harrowing 18 day ordeal inside the flooded cave. parents unable to get closer than about 6 feet away from their sons, three of the boys are suffering from lung infections. doctors saying they will probably stay in the hospital 7 to 10 days. the u.s. mission commander today praising the divers and thai navy s.e.a.l.s. >> we knew this was extremely risky, a low probability of success. >> reporter: their heroic actions helping to bring a happy ending, but we're learning it could have had a very different endt divers. the main pump failed right after

the 13th member of the group, the coach, was rescued. the governor ordered them out, the divers abandoning equipmentle and hundreds of air tanks inside. but celebrations, singing and dancing as the last came out safely. there had been early speculation that their coach might face criminal charges for bringing the boys inside the cave. but he is now being credited with giving the boys his rations to survive. and he wrote a letter to parents apologizing. parents now saying that he was someone they trusted, responding with a letter of their own writing do not blame yourself. thank you for taking care of the little ones. we're learning that when the boys finally came out of the cave, before they said they even wanted to see or hug their parents, they said what they wanted most was to watch the world cup. lynda lopez, abc news, new york. a firefighter has died following this gas explosion in sun prairie, wisconsin. he's identified as cory bahr.

this happened last night after a contractor hit a natural gas main. and authorities say rubble is still burning this morning. the blast could be felt a mile away. flames and smoke easily filled half a city block. two firefighters and a police officer got hurt as well as several civilians. some of whom had to be hospitalized. many homes in the area had to be evacuated. nurse sharks are usually harmless, but swimming with them is of course never risk-free. one of these sharks attacked a southern california woman on vacation in the bahamas. katerina says she got in the water after seeing photos of other swimmers doing the same thing. her boyfriend's father was taking know toes when a nurse shark bit her arm. this morning she is still recovering. you see the scars. she says that she now has a healthy respect for nature. >> you really need to respect them in their home. and if you do go swim with them, i think if you have the opportunity, you do have to take

bay. this is from our roof camera. breezes will pick up a bit, but we don't have a small craft advisory today and it won't be quite as hot now that the marine layer is back. but it will get overrun by some humidity coming up from the south. and that will give us a chance of sprinkles maybe even an isolated thunderstorm tomorrow into friday. and then the humidity will start to wayin and temperatures will get to seasonal levels as we head toward the weekend. as far as what is happening today, we're looking at mid-80s to about 90 around morgan hill and gilroy and san jose at about 88. as we move up the peninsula, we'll have temperatures around 76 in millbrae to about 85 in redwood city. and then as we keep moving up, we'll see in the downtown san francisco temperature of about 69 degrees today. we do have a game, an afternoon game. at 12 12 12 12 12 12 that. and as we continue to look at other microclimate, we'll

san francisco in the projects. plaza east public housing. and she comes in to this job at a pivotal moment a lot of people think, a time when we see a great disparity between the supers and ha--housingingingingg become the talk of the nation. these are the challenges that mayor london breed faces in an unexpected rise to this office given the fact that she was planning to run for 2019. of course having no idea what was going to happen, mayor ed lee passing away unexpectedly and leaving this opening for her to fill. she will have to after being in office only about a year and a half run again for mayor for november election process. >> the san francisco public safety color guard, everyone. and one more time please for the
