president trump is overseas in london meeting the queen just days before his summit with russian president vladimir putin. and here at home at the exact same time the justice department announces 12 russians have been indicted for meddling in our elections. let's start with those russian indictments. deputy attorney general rod rosenstein made the announcement less than two hours ago in washington, d.c. >> the indictment charges 12 russian military officers by name for conspiring to interfere with the 2016 presidential election. 11 of the defendants are charged

with conspiring to hack into computers, steal documents and release those documents with the intent to interfere in the election. one of those defendants and military officer are charged with conspiring. >> the russians are accused of hacking into computers belonging to the democrtic national committee and the presidential campaign of hillary clinton. now, president trump was briefed on this announcement before his trip to the u.k., which, by the way is making major headlines of its own. mr. trump stood right beside prime minister theresa may just after doing an interview where he appeared to throw her under the bus. molly hunter shows us how that

7 and you're seeing a bit of green showing up this morning. let's go over to meteorologist drew tuma. he's been tracking some showers for the past several hours. >> even earlier this morning we had a couple of lightening strikes. a couple of folks hearing that thunder rumble early this morning. much of this activity lifting off to the north. but you can see any action we have around clover dale even off to the north bay pushing off to the east. it's actually winding down the next hour or so. all coming out of the southea by 2:00 we expect clearing skies and sunshine to finish off the afternoon. a united airlines flight to sydney has a turn around to makes an emergency landing at sfo this morning.

>> reporter: the landing may look smooth but the journey was a bit bumpy. >> as soon as we took off there were two loud sounds and too big sparks. it went from the back to the front. >> reporter: this united airlines airplane had an engine on fire. instead of going to its intended destination of sydney the pilot turned back and headed back to sfo this morning. the crew made the announcement about 40 minutes into the flight. >> the pilot and the staff were very reassuring that things are in control and they're working fine. >> reporter: a spokesperson for united says the airline rebooked everyone for the earliest possible flights to sydney and provided meals and hotel accommodations for the passengers. most passengers agreed with the decision to return to sfo. >> i'm okay that they said they were turning around, come back. i feel safer coming back than
