whose kids play a popular online game. and the woman who was a millionaire for just one day. a good friday morning to you all. we begin with breaking news in missouri where dive teams will be out at daybreak searching for possible survivors after a tour boat capsized. >> that duck boat went down at table rock lake. you see it there. it's near the popular resort town of branson, missouri. at least 11 people died. several more are hospitalized. this morning a witness captured images of the boat moments before it went down. it struggled to stay upright but was no match for the 60-mile-an-hour winds and ocean-sized waves. >> a passenger on another boat watched as passengers scrambled to try to save themselves. >> so, i was in the showboat and i didn't see them fall over, but i knew -- we all knew that one

of them rolled or whatever it may be. i saw two people would be way off in the distance, so we were at the front of the boat. they were way off in the distance. i believe they may be actual workers that jumped in after others trying to save them. so i believe that's what it was. we're told many of the victims included young children. the ntsb has already dispatched a team of investigators. they'll arrive at the scene later on this morning. and central iowa is cleaning up this morning after tornadoes touched down east of des moines. this is just one of them forming in valeria. you can see it kicking up debris on the road ahead. it was one of at least five tornados in that area. >> oh, my god. >> reporter: cameras were rolling as devastating tornadoes touched down in iowa. homes were ripped apart in bondurant, about 13 miles outside of des moines. >> honey, get inside. there just went a house. there just went a house. houses are going. >> reporter: watch as the

violent wind topples a clock tower. >> ooh. >> reporter: in nearby pella, workers at a manufacturing plant say the factory is virtually destroyed. >> there is significant structural damage and personal property damage across the vermeer campus. >> reporter: in the factory's parking lot, the employees' cars are piled up on top of each other. witnesses say at least one tornado was on the ground for several minutes. >> we saw electricity flickering real bad and then a lot of debris coming up in the air. and that's when we started to evacuate our area. >> all i saw was just a mile-wide dark cloud. i could see the rotation and everything. it just filled me with dread in all honesty. >> reporter: this morning a state of emergency is in effect in marshalltown where witnesses say every business on the city's main street has some sort of damage. jordee kalk of our cedar rapids station is there. >> take a look at this damage. this is the roof off of one of . other houses have their windows broken and siding ripped off all

cancer-causing asbestos exploded under fifth avenue. the blast left a giant crater and toxic white vapor filling thai forced about 500 people to evacuate. but environmental officials now say tests show no meaningful amounts of asbestos in the air. papa john pizza's and its embattled founder are accused of fostering a culture where women were subject to sexist behavior on the job. the new allegations come just a week after john schnatter stepped down as chairman for using the "n" word. "forbes" is now reporting dozens of employees who chose to remain anonymous say schnatter and other executives routinely made inappropriate comments to women. >> a former female employee who told us that every time she walked down the hall, schnatter insisted on hugging her, that he asked the size of her bra, that he asked if she had slept with her previous boss. clearly comments that are never acceptable from the head of a company. schnatter's attorney says the story contains numerous

inaccuracies and misrepresentations. the current papa john's ceo steve ritchie commented that the company replied with a statement which read in part, we take this matter seriously. if anything is found to be wrong, we are determined to take appropriate action. they also remind the public that they've hired a special committee to investigate the the company's culture. environmentalists are slamming the trump administration's call for sweeping changes to the endangerered species law. the proposal would end automatic protections and limit habitat safeguards. the 1973 law is credited with saving the bald eagle but critics have long complained it hinders economic activities like oil and gas drilling. refunds may soon be on the way for hundreds of thousands of wells fargo customers. the bank reportedly has to give back millions of dollars that it charged for add-on services. those include debt protection and legal services. well, according to "the wall street journal," many customers weren't even aware of those services. the bank is still recovering from 2016's fake account scandal. one of the largest planes in the world has just made its first trip.

stranded in the cave. a good samaritan is credited with potentially saving the life of an 8-month-old boy in miami who was left in the backseat of a car in stifling heat. >> but two similar incidents ended tragically including one at a day-care center, which is now under investigation. a disturbing discovery inside a day care bus in southeast texas. >> this is an absolute tragedy. >> reporter: a 3-year-old found inside the hot bus hours after the kids returned from a field trip. >> the father arrived at the day care to pick up his child and the day care started looking around for the child, and they discovered that the child was actually in the bus and was nonresponsive. >> reporter: police are questioning two people, the driver of the bus and a day care chaperone. >> i can't fathom being a father and losing my child this way. this is a law enforcement nightmare to find a child in a situation like this. >> reporter: in connecticut another investigation involving a hot car death.

two brothers ages 2 and 4 left inside a vehicle in west haven. the 4-year-old did not survive and his younger brother is said to be fighting for his life at a hospital. >> it's just so sad. i just feel really, really bad for the kids. >> reporter: police have not announced an arrest in the case, but reporters on the scene say a man was taken away in handcuffs. in miami, a tragedy avoided after a woman noticed a baby in a car seat in the back of this nissan in a strip mall parking lot in 93-degree weather. at first she thought it was a doll, but after realizing it was a living, breathing baby, she opened the unlocked car and called police. the mom arrived 24 minutes later. >> is he okay? >> he's okay. >> he's fine. >> we're getting the emergency department. >> i'm a nurse and i hear these stories and i have four kids and i always say like how could that possibly ever happen. >> it happened. >> reporter: police arrested the mom and charged her with child neglect. and before yesterday's incidents there have been 25 hot car

deaths this year according to kidsandcars.org. experts suggest parents put the child's favorite toy in the front seat so they'll remember the child is in the back. authorities in southern california are offering a $30,000 reward to help shovel a baffling murder case. tristan beaudette was shot in the head and killed last month while camping with his two young daughters at malibu creek state park. it is the latest in a series of shootings. the "l.a. times" is now reporting investigators are looking into two reports of shots fired over the past week near that campground. a series of bee attacks near phoenix has left one person in critical condition and two others injured. two of them happened within hours of one another. in scottsdale a landscaper is in the hospital after he was stung multiple times. now, two other landscapers were attacked in a separate incident, one covered in the insects. both refused to go to the hospital, and in new hampshire,

six people were stung after a worker in a bucket truck hit a hive. the worker was stung by hundreds of bees until a neighbor came to the rescue. >> i went right into the middle of everything and unhooked him, took him down, brought him over there and hosed him down. you got to do what you got to do to save a person, right? >> a 54-year-old california woman was also stung nearly to death by thousands of so-called killer bees when she was getting a mop out of the trunk of her car. and now to a new warning for fans of the popular video game fortnite. a 13-year-old boy in ohio gave another gamer his user info in exchange for add-ons for his avatar, but instead that person took over the teen's account which was linked to his mother's credit card and then spent hundreds of dollars. >> i feel sorry for him, but i also have told him it's a lesson learned. i think it's an eye opener when it happens to you. you just want other parents to be aware. >> the scammer also locked the teen out of his account and killed off his character.
