at the coast with the onshore breeze to low 90s inland. around the bay in the low 80s. sun sets at 8:28 and i'll have all of the details coming up. thanks. >> developing news out of missouri. survivors of the deadly duck boat tragedy are talking about the terror about being thrown into the water during the violent storm. 31 people were onboard when it happened, 17 died. they range in age from 1 to 70 and this morning we're learning nine of those victims were family members. . abc news reporter emily rao has the latest. >> riding the ducks is somewhat of a favorite past time for tourist, but thursday night the boat tour turned tragic. at a vigil on friday evening the tranceon community gathered at a church to honor the 31 people onboard. two people are critically injured. 17 are dead including nine victims from the same family. >> my head pushed up to the top

of the water and i lost control. i didn't have anybody with me. i couldn't see anybody, and i know it wasn't, but it felt like i struggled for -- it felt like i struggled for at least an hour, but it was probably like ten minutes and i remember i kept sinking and the thunderstorm watch issued just 30 minutes before. the ntsb and coast guard are leading the investigation and plan to pull the sunken boat out of the lake early next week. investigators do know the issue of life jackets will be a primary focus of the investigation. >> the status of the personal flotation devices onboard, whether they were worn will definitely be a focus of the investigation. >> the president of the company that owns the duck boat says the operator had a good safety record. he also said that storm came out of nowhere. emily rau, abc news, branson, missouri. happening today, a plaque

will be dedicated in memory of the students from uc berkeley when a balcony collapsed. five of those killed were irish exchange students. the ceremony is ierseiof luing jr. way. the east bay rorts the irish ambassador to the united states is expected to attend. this morning the search for the person who murdered a mother of four, she was found in her richmond apartment. coworkers went looking for 38-year-old kishana harley after she didn't show up to work. abc 7 news reporter katie has more. >> whatever the reason was, she didn't deserve to die. he used to work with harley at the social security office in richmond. coworkers say she left for lunch with a man earlier this week and failed to return.

eventually they went to her apartment in richmond. >> when they got there the door was ajar, like you may have already heard and there was blood on the outside and blood everywhere. >> reporter: richmond police are investigating and releasing few details of the crime and they confirm that at 9:45 thursday they did a welfare check and found the victim deceased with traumatic injuries. the police officer said that they needed to evacuate because there was a gas leak. so i rushed back and when i got here i found out that apparently she was actually killed in her house, but someone left the gas open. >> harley described herself on linkedin as someone who has overcome homelessness and domestic violence. she wanted to advocate for change. neighbors wonder who would kill a mother of four. >> if it was somebody that was just walking around, you know, and saw her coming into her home and just attacked her. >> reporter: if you have any information contact the richmond police.

in richmond, katie utehs, abc 7 news. a suspected bank robber who targeted five bay area banks may be dead. the faux badge bandit was wanted in connection with three robberies in the east bay and three in cupertino along with robberies in southern california and the sacramento valley. yesterday the fbi said a robber matching his description, locked himself inside a nail salon bathroom. when they finally got in he was dead of a single gunshot wound. 5:05 is the time. a surprising find in local wine. a new study says there are radioactive particles from the fukushima nuclear disaster in some of those bottles. according to the chronicle, french researchers detected trace amounts of a radioactive isotope in 18 bottles of red wine from napa. the wineries were not named, and it came if the fukushima daiichi

nuclear power plant from the 2011 earthquake and tsunami. the golf course is open for business and it comes three weeks after the clubhouse that was originally built in 1951. crews removed it and now there is a temporary one in its place. it's still not clear what started the fire. happening today, residents in contra costa county can learn basic safety training skills. you can meet first responders and attend demonstrations and learn how to prepare for the next emergency and disaster. there will be a motorcycle competition demonstrating their skills. it starts at 9:00 this morning in moraga. time is 5:06. it's the second day of the rugby world cup sevens in san francisco. it's an international event. 40 teams are rpetirs include both menny and and women's squads and matches are played at at&t park. >> this is my first time at a

you can see we're off to a foggy start at least in this part of te bay area. frances returns with the full accuweather forecast for us in just a few minutes. it's the end of an era for a san francisco business. after nearly 70 years, a famous mexican bakery in the mission is set to close next month. abc 7 news reporter kate larson explains. >> reporter: la victorias had been a fixture in mison f64 years. >> we have puercos, gingerbread pigs. >> they are famous for their pan dulce. he founded his own sourdough baking business out their kitchen and last week he was told to leave so the building can be sold. >> there's still uncertainty and trying to figure out all of the different possible plans of what might happen. >> it's not just la victoria that relies on this building. there are half a dozen businesses that lease space in this kitchen that cook and bake their food. not to mention 30 employees who are wondering if they'll have a

used to it. cal trans plans to begin it on tuesday. time now is 5:14. abc 7 news was at chrissy field avenue in san francisco as the road closed down permanently to vehicles. crews are converting the street into a trail for pedestrians and bicyclists. this will link crissy field to the bridge while changes are being made. residents and tourists are reopening a portion of the scenic highway. [ cheers and applause ] yesterday's ribbon cutting ceremony comes more than a year after a mudslide overtook highway 1 at big sur. last may about 6 million cubeec yards of debris came on to the roadway in mud creek. it created new shoreline and 15 acres of new land. workers who did the repairs are happy the project is finally finished. >> it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a part of something really big and like i

said, like the golden gate bridge or something of that sort, you know? something you can say i worked on that project. >> the repair project worked $54 million. the portion at mud creek opened two month ahead of schedule. now to the search for the owner of this wedding ring. it was recently found on a beach, but the story nearly started 70 years ago. abc 7 news anchor dion lynn has the latest. >> we first met richard garcetti. four months ago he stumbled upon a hidden treasure. >> as soon as i picked it up i said it looks like a wedding ring. >> one with an inscription that red from now to eternity, 1949, it bore the name lilly. >> how it got to this beach is a mystery. >> a friend by chance tweeted about the ring months later hoping someone could tak f. >>o many people from around the country shared the story from social media, many with

ring, but he's open to the possibility of it being his and he's looking through his archives to see if he can find more clues. good morning, bay area. we're starting off with live doppler 7 and the satellite image to show you the fog and low clouds that have filled in from the coast. you might need your wipers in san francisco with drizzle and mist possible. right now, visibility is a bit limited because of the low clouds and half moon bay, and pet petaluma, and we do have those low clouds over the bay right now. here's a live shot from the roof camera. we have the sea breeze, and temperatures are mainly in the 50s and 60s. oakland, 60 and mountain view, 61. san jose, 65 and gill roy and half moon bay in the 60s. we'll head to walnut creek for sunrise, and 604 and getting a glimpse of that right now.

in santa rosa, it's 59. novato, 59 and already in the low 60s through fairfield, concord and livermore and that's where we'll see the warm-up with the clear skies right now over those areas and here's how it plays out. typical summertime pattern and we have the fog and low clouds spilling into san francisco and parts of the east bay. by noon, the fog pulls back and we'll see passing high clouds and mostly clear conditions except at the coast and then you know the story, it starts to come back in again tonight and overnight. highs today will range from 60s at the coast where we have the sea breeze and that will keep things cool and 63 degrees there. oakland, 74. san jose, 84 and low 90s in some of the warmest spots like antioch, livermore, fairfield, comfortable in napa and mid to low 80s there. if you're headed to the rugby world cup sevens you'll need a light layer and temperatures

tumbling down a 50-foot cliff. it happened at china camp state park in san rafael 3:30 yesterday afternoon. the man was conscious and alert while being transferred to marine general. this is the second incident involving a mountain bike in three weeks. highway pat rot officers arol o trying to figure out how a car landed on a san mateo beach. it went through a guardrail. the owner called the chp about his missing car. officers don't know if it was stolen. the chronicle reports the owner was not hurt so someone else may have been driving it. confusion over a website. a bay area man created. it's called rent a hitman.com, but it isn't meant to have anything to do with killing someone. abc 7 news reporter laura anthony has the story from the north bay. >> it is for information technology purposes. >> it's a website that started as one thing. >> rent a hitman.com.

from abc 7 morning. i'm frances dinglasan. a typical summer day with live doppler 7 you can see how it will play out. we have the marine layer into parts of the north bay, into parts of san francisco into parts of the east bay and that will pull back this afternoon. there is some limited visibility right now especially in half moon bay down to three miles. santa rosa is seven miles and here is a live view as we see the low clouds in san francisco across the bay bridge and temperatures are pretty mild, and san jose, 65, half moon bay. we are looking out toward mount diablo and highway 24 there and some of those low clouds, but it is clear inland and temperatures are there are already mild through liver more, concord and

novato currently at 59 degrees. gray skies over the san jose airport, but no flight delays yet so here's how it plays out and we have foggy, misty areas especially along the coast this morning and then we have typical summer weather this weekend and that means a wide range of temperatures from 60s at the coast to low 90s inland and our weather pattern doesn't change too much over the course of next week. so with the forecast animation we'll see at 7:00 this morning, we see those low clouds and notice by lunchtime it all pulls back and we'll see the passing high clouds from the south, but that monsoonal moisture has headed east and that is bringing a chance of thunderstorms to parts of the sierra, and i'll tell you about that in a bit pf highs will range from 60s at the host and 63 at half moon bay with the sea breeze and san francisco, 69 degrees and oakland, low 90s in antioch and livermore and look for

comfortable 80s in santa rosa, napa at 82 degrees. the thunderstorm threat has moved east and this area's highlighted in green like south lake tahoe is where we could possibly see some lightning today with heavy downpours at times. so be aware if you're heading through the area. a chance of thunderstorms continues through this weekend. highs will be in the low 80s and you'll get a mix of sun, clouds and possible lightning strikes and lows in the low 50s. also, just a head's up and there's still an air quality alert and smoky and unhealthful air due to the through coalinga and mariposa. here is the accuweather seven-day forecast. fog in the morning, sunshine in the afternoon and at the coast, low 60s around the bay in the 80s and low 90s inland.

and he typed the wrong e-mail on zelle. could rick send his money back. >> the money disappears. >> rick tried to reject the deposit, but zelle had no button for that so he contacted his bank, wells fargo. >> they didn't know what to do. they'd never heard of this issue. >> wells fargo suggested rick send $100 to the stranger. that didn't seem safe. couldn't wells fargo reverse the transaction? >> it would take five to seven business days. >> i was told that my accounts were locked. >> and my alarm bills were ringing that someone had hacked my account. then the real kill prit. are you aware of the $100 zelle transaction. wells fargo treated it as a case of fraud who froze all ridiculous's accounts and he couldn't access any of his money. >> it was an unbelievable experience. >> as for the $100, it came out of rick's account and then it disappeared which brings us to

the person who sent the money in the first place. >> my three kids are saying, dad, you have to get up into the modern era. you don't send checks anymore. >> meet ian, in rockford, illinois. he was just trying to send his daughter $100. >> rick's e-mail address and hers are very, very similar. >> we introduced larry and rick via facetime. ? hi, rick. >> hi. i want to be the first to tell you i'm really sorry that i'm putting you all through this. >> larry said he never did get that $100 and it went back to the big bank in the cloud. 7 on your side contacted wells fargo. it did not explain what happened, but says there is a process for reversing those mistakes. however, in this situation the payment reimbursement was delayed. after that the $100 showed up in larry's account. i really want to thank you for this. if larry's ever in rockford. he'll buy me a beer. >> he's sending checks to his
