overturned. the county sheriff tells us the car was stopped for a traffic violence. one or two people inside that car died. another in the hospital. investigators spent six hours searching the freeway for clues. you're looking at the driver as they approach that scene near the bart station, all westbound lanes on 24 reopened at 3:00 this afternoon. more hostages emerged from a trader joe's that's been surrounded by police in language. a suspect who seems to be armed, taking hostages and barricaded himself inside that store. it's in the silver lake neighborhood. the suspect is armed and might be injured. this store is the latest in a series of incidenting involving that same suspect. >> we had a male suspect in his

late teens become involved in a family dispute, which resulted in him shooting his grandmother. that suspect fled the location in his grandmother's vehicle, taking a female victim with him. hollywood area officers picked up that vehicle and pursued ensuit. that pursuit went into the northeast area of los angeles. >> now, that suspect fired at police when the chase ended outside the trader joe's. so far one person has been taken to the hospital. an east bay city is remembering a tragic incident tonight and paying tribute to six families. a permanent memorial was dedicated to six students in iowa who died when the back any they wereta oollapse. cornell joins us with more details. >> reporter: hi, deion, many stopping to read that memorial tonight. it's a small plaque in the corner of this park. flowers have been placed at the bay, a reminder of the sick

lives lost. these flowers at a new memorial plaque in berkeley, not far from where the six students were killed. >> we pray that they know peace and with one another. >> reporter: the plaque is dedicated to sick students, five from iowa, who died when the balcony they were standing on collapsed in june 2015. >> we all feel a great sense of contact with this tragedy of the loss of these six young people at the beginning of their lives. >> reporter: two strawberry trees nearby honors the six that were lost. >> we were rolled up on scene and there were essentially a pile of bodies on the sidewalk. it was difficult for all of us to take in. >> reporter: the balcony's failure was as a result of water damage. the owner cut corners to save

coliseum records as they host what's expected to be the largest game crowd in the season. the team opened up with 10,000 fans that bought tickets. 55,000 expected to at least fill the ballpark. this games hope that there will be a new site for a ballpark soon. >> we have two final sites, one at the coliseum and one at the terminal. at the end of the year we hope to have an economic deal so we can move forward and open the ballpark by 2023. >> the bid encountered a set back when the original choice i was blocked by the community college district. residence on a plan that will basically double the size of the city. that project called b land. david journal reports the city council offered to put that
