with a sea breeze keeping things cool at the coast. so only the low 60s there, but inland, we'll hit the low 90s once again today. and a comfortable 80 degrees. a couple of changes in the accuweather seven-day forecast. developing news, five people trapped by high tide near meira beach while fishing are now safe. police guided the four men and one woman to their cars early this morning. crews walked with them across the rocks and back to the parking lot. the group became stranded between 8:30 and 9:00 last night between mira beach ratdrat -- pirate's cove. police say an armed man held dozens of customers inside a trader joe's yesterday.

he eventually surrendered to police. >> reporter: frightened shoppers run away from a busy trader joe's in silver lake, the terrifying ordeal starting with an armed man being pursued by police, crashes his car outside the store and then runs inside. >> he ran right behind me and there were all these gunshots. police were shooting all over the place. >> reporter: shoppers were in the parking lot watching a gun battle with police. >> they shot about five shots and then they were telling people to get inside their cars and duck for know were in our car for about 50 minutes.orr: lapd officers surround the store, joined by fire department rescuers. inside the store, employees

helping customers escape. >> you could hear the pop, pop, pop, pop. it was just like a mad dash, people that were in the front of the store started coming towards the back of the store towards the exit. and we assisted them. >> reporter: an estimated 40 to 50 people were held hostage inside the store. police say one woman died after being wounded by gun fire. police negotiators made contact with the suspect. finally about three hours after the tense standoff began, the suspect placed handcuffs on himself, walked out and was taken into custody. polid of the store. >> family members have identified the trader joe's employee who was killed as milada corado. people will gather for a memorial in san francisco today,

this marks the third mario woods remembrance day, woods was killed by police in the debut back in 2015, his death recorded by cell phones sparked national outrage. today would have been woods' 29th birthday. organizers expect more than 200 people to attend. it starts at 11:00 this morning at martin luther king jr. park on third street. a deadly end to a police chase in the east bay, abc news was on westbound highway 24 while investigators looked for clues. the contra costa sheriff's department tells us the suspect sped away from a traffic stop around 9:00ay police lost sight of it before seeing it overturned there on the freeway. one person died, one is in the hospital. two people are in the hospital after a crash in san francisco. it involved a tour bus and a mustang. abc7 news was at the civics

center after police took the drivers into custody. officers say the bus driver assaulted the man driving the ford mustang. they also arrested the mustang's driver claiming he drove reckle recklessly. one of the bus passengers described how road rage took place before the crash. >> the mustang tried to go around him to the right and the muss tang keeps block him, until he blocked him totally. it continued for like 10 minutes. >> police treated a canadian tourist for minor injuries. the bus riders had to wt you can see all those sparks and smoke, the sacramento fire department described the

electrical fire as small. the mono rail operator was the only one on board, crews were able to rescue that person from the stalled train. well, today is the final game of the bay bridge series between the giants and the a's. last night was a milestone for oakland, as the team celebrated the largest attendance in coliseum history. so what does that mean for the possibilities of a new a's stadium? we go out to the ball game. >> reporter: a fleet of fans honor baseball history. >> i survived game three, i was at theandlesck wheppsaturday ni between the athletics and the giants. >> so,010,000 people up there,

welcome back, everyone. 5:12 on this sunday morning. thank you for waking up so early to join us. this is a live look from our emeryville camera, showing you some of the beauty of the bay bridge. weather today just like yesterday, fog, low clouds in the morning and giving way to a sunny afternoon. frances along shortly with the full accuweather forecast. a special tribute to six students killed in a balcony collapse in berkeley. it happened three years ago. now there's a permanent memorial. abc7 news reporter cornel bernard has the story. >> reporter: families laid flowers at a new memorial plaque in berkeley, not for from where three students were killed in berkeley. the plaque is dedicated to six students five of them from

>> a woman remembers her daughter from berkeley park. >> the city has been absolutely phenomenal in getting everything done and supporting us. >> reporter: this is what library gardens on kitchen street looks like today, all the balconies have been removed, a sidewalk memorial pays tribute to the students. a plaque engraved with the words, they lived and loved and laughed and left. a man in san francisco says he's a victim of racial profiling. he spoke with abc7 news reporter amanda castile about what happened. >> reporter: victor stevenson has been selling lemonade for about a week. officers met him out front on

thursday, they weren't looking to make a purchase, but to pursue a possible break in. stevenson says they asked for proof of business ownership and then his id. he shared this recording with abc7 news. while he understands that it may have been routine, he feels the encounter was rooted in racism. >> the bigger problem here are the individuals that think it's okay to pick up the phone and call 911 irresponsibly. >> he says killed lemona lemonade. this woman says she's not surprised this happened here, ae becky. both were recorded calling the police on black people. >> i can't say it happened to me as a business owner.

was named after a cherry blossom and also to the phrase so mighty in english. all right, good morning, i'm meteorologist frances lawson. here we go with live doppler 7, and the satellite image with low clouds and the marine layer. you can see it's into parts of the east bay through the bay and even parts of the peninsula an and south bay. there's mist and drizzle possible as well. and bringing visibility down to a mile, petaluma seven miles. and here you'll find some gray skies over the san jose airport. temperatures right now mainly in the 50s and 60s. in san francisco it's 59, oakland , half moon bay 57 degrees. let's check out the bay bridge, still looking pretty gray out there, and it will be for the next few hours. and santa rosa, 59, low 60s

right now through napa, novato, fairfield, concord at 63, livermore at 63 degrees. our forecast animation over the next few hours, it will show the showers pulling back by lunchtime. and this afternoon we'll see mainly sunny conditions with the exception of the coast where those clouds will linger throughout the day. and then even by 11:00, mostly clear, it will spill in again late tonight so we'll wake up again to clouds and fog tomorrow morning. to the bay bridge series, it's going to be perfect weather today, in the low 70s, mile and sunny, so grab your sunscreen and your sun glasses and your hat. highs today very much like yesterday, so we'll see some low 60s at the coast. that's where we'll have the sea breeze to keep it cool. san francisco 68, oakland 73, san jose 84 and the low 90s again for fairfield, antioch and

low to mid 80s through an a rosa and napnapa. so overall a very nice, sunny day, just what you would expect it to be for this time of the year. for the world cup sevens today, we have the 10:00 hour, temperatures will climb into the low 60s, and at 2:00 p.m. upper 60s. and if you stay around until this evening, it will cool down to 60 degrees after the sun set. lows tonight will be mild again with the cloud cover spreading in from the coast. so mainly 50s and 60s. lots of low 60s in fact through redwood city, livermore, 65 degrees. and there is a beach hazard statement in effect. this starts tomorrow and continues through wednesday. especially for south facing beaches like santa cruz. we could see some really large ,

looking out for rip currents and sneaker waves. here's the accuweather 7-day forecast, another beautiful, summer sunny afternoon at the coast, we'll see 60s at the coast, in the bay in the low 90s. there is a dip on monday, but then things start to heat up midweek for the inland areas. steady pattern into wednesday, so that will be the two warmest days of the week, then we start to cool things down, thursday, friday and into next weekend, but overall, we are very near average. >> okay, i thought it was a little abogeith the 90s. >> it will be midweek for some of the inland areas, but for the coast, it's going to stay pretty steady because we always have that sea breeze to keep it cool. new this morning a warning this morning about a possible

scam. a fire extinguisher service company and the workers sometimes driving marked cars wearing uniforms go to the businesses, tell them they need to have their fire extinguisher serviced and the company requests cash payments. the santa cruz fire department says it does not endorse oreck meoreck -- or recommend any service like that. and a project called the brisbane bay lance development would add 2,200 residential units. the city council will take the next steps in finalizing that proposal. a popular east bay park is about to get a $5 million makeover. del valle will

four men and one woman back to their car. the group became stranded around 8:30, perhaps 9:00 last night between mira beach and pirate's cove. no one was injured. a woman who lost nine family members in the duck boat accident in missouri remains in the hospital this morning. tia coleman is her name and she lost her husband and three children in that tragedy. she says going home is going to be difficult. >> it i don't know how i'm going to do it. since i have had a home, it's always been filled. it's always been filled with little feet and laughter. and my husband. i don't know how i'm going to do it. >> the ntsb says divers have retreated over a quarter of the boat's trip data, it's the same as airplanes have that black

on adobe creek lane. firefighters have made progress and remained on scene overnight. and evacuations have expanded over yosemite because of the ferguson fire. the anderson valley is now under that mandatory evacuation. the fire is just 6% contained. officials say two firefighters were hurt with back injuries. a cal fire dozer operator was killed saturday while building a fire break. the chunk chicken is going to set sail on san francisco bay today. it's part of a protest. organizers say they'll circle alcatraz which they are jokingly referring to as the big coupe. people are welcome to come out and cheer them also asking for donations to help with the cost of renting the

boat. president trump's lawyers are waving attorney-client privilege regarding the secretly recorded conversation he had with his former long-time attorney michael cohen. the president is now lashing out publicly at cohen for the first time. here's abc news reporter brian clark. >> reporter: president trump taking to twitter saturday morning lashing out at his former lawyer michael cohen. inconceivable that the government would break into a lawyer's office early in the morning almost unheard of. almost more inconceivable is that a lawyer would record a considerati conversation with his client. this is the first time the agt .denli sources confirm to abc news that cohen recorded a conversation with trump about a former

playboy play mate karen mcdoogle two claims to have had an affair with president trump. the approximately two-minute long in person conversation, the tape made secretly by cohen undercuts those denials. the recording among items seized in that fbi raid of kcohen's home, office and hotel room. according to sources, mr. cohen outlined a scheme to reimburse publishers of the "national enquirer" $150,000 it paid for mcdoogle's story. the sources familiar with the tape says that it fails to document any payment. but a source close to giuliani says the payment never happen. a lawyer taping a client is not illegal, it is the equivalent of

in santa rosa, lots of low 60s right now. napa, novato, fairfield, liv livermore at 61. we'll still see the fog across the bay, and by lunchtime, it all pulls back to the coast. we'll see mainly sunny skies for everywhe everywhere, except at the beaches, then you'll see that the clouds old off. by 11:00 tonight, the clouds will start to seep in. and we'll have some mist and drizzle possible again. highs today very close to yesterday's warmth. so in yesterday look for a high of 68, san rafael mid 80s, low 80s through napa. and, aan jose 84, so low 90s farther inland. if you're heading to the beach today, we'll start off with the clouds, we'll get a little piece of sunshine, but it will be

breezy, that sea breeze will keep things cooler, so low to mid 60s. ocean beach, half moon bay, santa cruz warming up to 81. there's a beach hazard in effect, for mainly south facing beaches, where we could see 7 to 9-foot breakers. it could impact some west and southwest facing beaches as well. be careful if you're heading there because there could be strong rip currents and some sneaker waves returning back to the ocean. and we could see some more beachgoers toward the middle of the week, there is a heat advisory that starts at noon on tuesday, this is mainly for the east bay hills and south bay hills, heat illness is possible. we'll see temperatures in the triple digits tuesday and wednesday. but for the rest of us, for example in san jose, we're still near average, for example, today, a high of 84 is right

near average. we do bump up a bit on tuesday and we start to cool things down towards the end of the week. here's the accuweather 7-day forecast, another gorgeous summer afternoon. highs ranging from low 90s inland, to 80s near the bay, and low 60s at the coast. we'll see the sea breeze continue with an afternoon gust of about 20 miles an hour from the west. a slight dip in temperatures on monday, and then we do get hot inland on tuesday and wednesday. everyone comes up a little bit. and then the cooling trend begins on thursday, where we slowly drop temperatures down into next weekend. >> and if you don't like it hot inland, you can always come to the coast and cool off. >> exactly, with that sea breeze, just watch out for the strong, large waves as well. >> the rip currents as you mentioned. all right, thank you, frances. coming up, a special milestone for the royal family,
