breaking news happening at the mcarthur part station right now where the station is shut down after reports of a stabbing ot the platform. let's take a listen to how it sounded. >> we have two suspects. we have a stabbing in progress. two victims. >> the condition of the victim is not clear. as for the suspect, the audio gave the vague description of a person seen running from the station. we do have a crew from the scene. thanks for joining us. we do have more breaking news now coming out of canada.

a shooting tonight in toronto in a neighborhood known as greek town. one woman is dead and 13 other people including a young girl are injured. toronto police say the gunman is dead as well, but it is too early to tell whether the shooting is terrorism. >> firefighters will be on scene overnight of a large grass fire that threatened homes today. sky 7 shows the spread through. it is 40% contained. katie is live with the latest on the fire watch. katie? >> reporter: firefighters expect that the higher humidity and lower temperatures will help them overnight to get closer containment on this fire. what started as a small grass fire spread quickly because of the high temperature and dry

conditions. cal fire painted the hillside pink with flame redar dant as people who live in this summit point neighborhood kept a close eye on the flames. >> it travels really quickly up a hill. >> the grass fire started in the area sunday afternoon. >> the wind combined with dry fuel and a steep slope, it burns very quickly uphill. >> cal fire deployed who helicopters and two air tankers. they pulled fire. >> they had a couple fires from up here. they have beenllood at getting up here fast. >> there were evacuations of a couple of ranch properties off of weller road. they're, again, large ranch properties and they were advised to evacuate. >> the fire threatened radio and tv towers.

it is popular with hang sliders. >> there is a road that goes all the way up the peak right there. that's where they hang glide off of. >> the cause of the fire is still under investigation. thank you very much. the ferguson fire burning west has scorched nearly 33,000 acres. new evacuations ordered. 3,000 firefighters continued to battle the flames in extreme heat, unpredictable winds and treacherous terrain. >> it is very steep terrain. it is not very accessible to get to there, the crews have to take a long trip to get around to get into that area. >> crews and bulldozers are cutting fire brakes to protect communities. it's now 6% contained.

new at 11:00, the veterans program where three employees were killed by a former resident is closing for good. it never reopened after the tragic shooting in march. abc 7 news reporter has this story. >> reporter: the signs that say pathway home have been taken down. small tributes to the women who died on that day remain. three brave women referred to a psychologist. the executive director and therapist, employees who were taken hostage and then shot to death by a former resident. >> you don't walk away from it without it having its effects. >>r:hehogasonl on the surviving employees and the veterans living there, a big factorhy it won't be reopening. >> it was devastating because these women were the core of th friends and we all knew each

getting shot seven times. she is currently at the hospital. a woman identified at his girlfriend was braised by a bullet. she was forced into a car. the suspect drove off and then started the chase. >> i think the cause of the shooting pretty much had something to do with the girlfriend. the grandma didn't want the girlfriend over there at the house. >> that car crashed outside the trader joe's. after getting into a gun battle with officers, that suspect ran inside. a store manager identified as a 27-year-old was killed during the stand off. it was not clear if she was killed in cross fire or killed by the suspect. today the minnesota vikings announced tony spiratto passed away. he went to the hospital thursday with chest pains. he was the vikings offensive line man head coach. he was the interim head coach for the raiders in 2014 and coached the tight ends in 2015.

ongoing, but at this point they don't need anymore volunteers. brooklyn, iowa has about 1,500 people and most of that community on the lookout for molly. okay. right away let's get back to that breaking news coming out of oakland tonight. we mentioned the double stabbing in oakland. let's get to arrived on the scene. >> reporter: the station is shut down for the rest of the night as police investigate a double stabbing in which one person has died. it happened at around 9:45 p.m. it is unclear where it happened, whether it was on the platform or on the train or both. two young women were stabbed. again, one has died. no age given. the second woman is in the hospital. the extent of her injuries is unknown. police are looking for an attacker described as a white

rather warm in the upper 80s to low 90s. if you're looking up to hit the beach tomorrow, afternoon will be great. a lot of sunshine. but the uv index is running very high, so put on that sunscreen. we will have some rough search to content with. at 11:00 in the morning lasting through wednesday morning. our ocean will become a little more active thanks to a southerly swell. we could see breakers as high as nine feet. rip currents will be an issue. what we're tracking though across the entire state is some intense heat. look at this. several advisories and warnings up for monday with the hottest temperatures forecasted monday in southern california. if you are traveling tomorrow across much ot state, we're sitting pretty comfortable in san francisco.
