down the southbound lanes for a while. no word on what started this fire. new mandatory vaigevacuatio are in effect for the car fire in shasta county. the flames have scorched more than 6700 acres and the fire just 10% contained. a chp officer took dramatic video near whiskey town where it appears an entire mountain is burning. >> i can feel the heat coming off this thing here. this is what the blaze is looking like. this whole mountain range. >> the fire started on monday and the cause is being atrib butsds to the mechanical failure of a vehicle. >> another day we have to be mindful, help out those firefighters, it's going to be another hot one, right, mike? >> it is going to be a hot one and one with poor air quality through most of the central valley. all the way over towards the coast. that's because of smoke. for us it's because of ozone. ground-based ozone. why we have a spare the air alert for today. our fourth for the summer

possibly some damage done on that bridge. sounds like they checked iutand. bay bridge toll plaza looking okay. we have a little stack up in the cash lanes but that's about it. metering lights should be on around 5:25, 5:30. we're watching breaking news in arizona. that's where a state trooper has died after getting shot during a struggle with a man outside of phoenix. now police are telling us several officers were fighting with the man for several minutes last night. they were trying to take him into custody on interstate 10. now one of the troopers during this struggle lost the duty weapon and so the man involved in the struggle is accused of taking the weapon and firing two rounds. one trooper was wounded and the other trooper, tyler edden was killed. >> our thoughts and prayers are with his family. lives have been shattered and ruined. and we're all in a little bit of a state of shock this morning.

>> the trooper was an officer in training. he had just graduated from the state trooper academy in may. and new this morning, an explosion caused a brief panic outside the u.s. embassy in beijing, china. >> a scene on the streets surrounding the buildings. witnesses reported seeing a small cloud of smoke rising and officers surrounding the embassy. chi mees police say the explosion was caused by a man carrying a small bomb trying to hurt himself. santa clara police investigating the first murder of the year. they say a 54-year-old man from campbell was found dead at a santa clara park just across the street from the safeway he worked and police arrested his co-worker. abc 7 news reporter lilian kim in santa clara with the story. >> reporter: 54-year-old ray hyde worked in the meat department at this safeway across the street from central park where hyde's body was found near the duck pond on friday. >> no obvious sign of trauma in

no gunshot wound or knife sticking out of him, but there were things at the scene that our investigators were concerned ai >> reporter: a coroner confirmed their suspicions and on tuesday officers arrested hyde's co-worker, 5-year-old gauge mccartney. investigators say they're still working on gathering information s details won't be released until after his arraignment on friday. until then, those who knew hyde will be wondering, the single father of three was an active and beloved member of cathedral of faith in san jose. >> who would want to hurt him? he was a very good man to everybody. so nice and sweet and very humble. ♪ >> reporter: hyde sang at church often, well known for his powerful voice. >> eithhe had a magnificent voc talent able to move people's hearts closer to god when he was able to sing. >> reporter: despite mccartney's arrest they still need the public's help. >> there is a time gap we're trying to fill in and we're asking anybody in the public if they've seen anything or these

two individuals in the area of central park to reach out to the police department. >> murders are rare in santa clara. this is the city's first homicide of the year. in santa clara, lilian kim, abc wsa tff stop ithe north the reso victims of child molestation. officers arrested 43-year-old kenyatta norwood of oakland on highway 29 in napa. they arrested her last week. chp says -- arrested him last week. chp saying he was driving a stolen car. officers discovered images of child pornography involving a 5-year-old and 17-year-old. several agencies worked together and located both victims been 24 hours. happening today the trump administration says it is on track to meet the court-imposed deadline to reunite the migrant children separated from their parents at the border. there are about 2500 kids covered under the ruling but there could be issues. some of the parents have been deported without their kids. and there are hundreds more

southern half of the central valley under an air quality warning until 4:30 tomorrow afternoon. we still have our excessive heat warnings and heat advisories covering nearly 22 million people across the state. now as far as weight going on temperature wise, we're looking at well over 100 through the central valley. palm springs nearly 120, 90 in l.a. and 70 in monterey. our accuweather seven-day forecast coming up. large parts of yosemite national park are closed to visitors until at least this sunday because of the ferguson fire. it has now grown to more than 41,000 acres. it's 26% contained. flames have not yet entered yosemite, but the closure is a pretty big disappointment for a lot of tourists in the bay area looking forward to visiting that very popular national park. abc 7 news reporter vic lee tells us the impact it's having on our tourist industry. >> reporter: the peak of the tourist season, yosemite is

blanketed by a thick haze of smoke, fire, closing large sections of the park, includes popular yosemite valley. camp grounds and many hotels have closed, tourists are leaving, others, like sandra from holland, are not going. many yosemite tours have canceled. tours of san francisco is not one of them. >> because it's so big, we're still going to yosemite park, just different areas. >> reporter: during the peak summer months, the tours takes about 5,000 visitors to yosemite. >> we invented an alternative tour that explores the wilderness area in the northern part of the valley still open. >> reporter: there was one snag, six of their guests were forced to leave the hotels in yosemite. lilian bussed them back here. it wasn't hard to find tourists who had to cancel their trip. most of those we spoke with understand why. susan and graham are from australia. >> we're used to brushfires.
