. security lines could get much shorter at some parents, that's if the tsa green lights a new proposal. good evening and thanks for joining us. >> according to documents that were obtained by cnn, the tsa is looking at cutting screenings at more than 150 airports. >> our reporter spoke to a security expert who has serious concerned. kate joins us live now. >> reporter: i think it's fair to say that most people don't enjoy going through airport security. but when it comes to their safety, everyone i spoke to today said they're happy to deal with any inconvenience that might come along with a

screening, especially when it comes to preventing terrorist attacks. >> i think it's a bad idea. >> that's the remark about tsa's intent to approximately live with less security. >> seems to me i would go to one of the places that has no screening if i was a terrorist. >> she is baffled the federal agency would consider eliminating the safety layer for about 10,000 passengers every day. i don't even see the purpose of it. how much are they planning to save? >> $115 which could be used to bolster safety at larger airports. >> if the effort is to get more funding, this is a bad way to do it. >> security expert rick smith spoke to us by phone. he worries that without screening bat acts could bring

hobland. the mendocino sheriff's department is warning residents, be ready to evacuate if you feel unsafe. hundreds of people who have been impacted by the fires gathered for a community meeting tonight. the big question is when will they be allowed to return home? lillian kim is live in lakeport with the story. lillian? >> reporter: larry, some communities like kelseyville are no longer under evacuation orders. towns like lakeport are still a concern. on main street, the sidewalks are empty and the air is filled with smoke. as the sun was setting, no flames could be seen from lakeport. with thick smoke come from miles away continues to permanent ate the area. hundreds of evacuees gathered to
