lake, lake port, winter springs, bachelor valley, scots valley and saratoga springs. this mandatory order had been an advisory but conditions were worsening and people in these areas were told just after 9:00 a.m. to get out now. here are the latest numbers of the ranch and river fires. the ranch fire nearing acres. last night hundreds of evacuees gathered in kelseyville for a community meeting hoping to find out when they'd be able to return home. >> what we don't want is to put people back in their homes that have been evacuated for a week and then have something go bad where we have to reevacuate. >> i've always been someone not to show how worried i am, but

we're getting by. >> cal fire hope tuesday have full containment by tuesday. which way are the winds blowing? >> they're blowing from west to east right now, but they're going to pick up speed. and unfortunately conditions are going to get worse saturday into sunday. a 36-hour window of our highest fire danger. that's why you see most of lake county in the red under this red flag warning. we're going to have rapidly intensifying fire on our ridge tops that is going to sporadically spread it around. when these winds get in these valleys they tend to swirl around, and that's what really sets off more fires as it jumps. today the winds could get up to 20 miles per hour, and they'll blow from northwest to southeast right across the lake. worst conditions developing tomorrow and saturday.

now we're going to turn to our biggest fire to our north, the carr fire burning utof control in shasta and trinity counties. it is 35% contained. that number has not change. and there's a new fire burning below the mendocino complex fires. this is called the western fire. it's burned 45 ablingers and 50% contained. the mendocino sheriff's department is warning nearby residents to be ready to evacuate if conditions prove to be unsafe. and take a look at this map of california. as you can see there are 19 active wildfires burning across the state, and they have burned more than 500 square miles. to put that into perspective that's about half of the state of rhode island. and more than 32,000 people have been put out of their homes. as you can see there's a whole lot of fire that we're following, and you can find more information on all of them

including the one near yosemite on abc7news.com and the abc 7 news app. the usgs reporting a magnitude suison city. it's the lowest of eight levels, which means it'll only be felt by very few. and the state of california is ready for a big fight with the federal government. the trump administration wants to take away california's stricter emission standards. so this would apply to us and also 12 other states that adopted our california rules. the epa says that relaxing mileage standards would give consumers access to safer more affordable vehicles. >> the proposed rule from the federal government if adopted will make cars less fuel
