highway 4 to the maze, 19 minutes, 9 minutes across the bridge through the toll plaza, and san francisco to sfo, that's wide open in the green at nine minutes. thanks. new evacuations are being ordered near the mendocino complex fires. >> this is a closer look at the ranch fire. new evacuation orders are issued for parts of lake county near the east side of the national forest on the map shown in orange. evacuation warnings have been issued for parts of western county near leesville along with lucerne and clear lake oaks area in lake county. we also do have video of a terrifying moment for a ukiah mother of three. >> you find yourself trapped on highway 20 on sunday when the >> i can't see anything. you can barely hear her say she

couldn't see anything because the smoke was so thick she didn't know how to get around this. fortunately, a caltrans tree crew supervisor was there and came to the rescue so he knocked on her window and guided newman out of harm's way and ended up saving the entire family. >> thank goodness. here's a look at the latest numbers on the mendocino complex fires. the ranch fire burned nearly 84,000 acres, it's 33% contained. to the south the river fire has grown to 41,000 acres, containment has increased to 50%. the deadly ferguson fire burning inside yosemite national park. >> new video from the scene. this is a car driving toward yosemite. you can see an orange glow in the sky outside this window. heavy smoke is forcing yosemite valley and other parts of the park to close until at least sunday. four of the five entrance to the park are closed because of this wildfire. since the ferguson fire began

to more dmv field offices. 60 offices across california open from 8:00 to 5:00 p.m., 14 in the bay area, including daly city and hayward. it's gotten so bad some people say they've waited in lines nine hours or longer. the dmv says that's because of the implementation of real i.d. people can't get those on-line or through the mail. they have to show up. the dmv opened up the san jose driver's license processing center and the oakland office an hour earlier during the week to help cut down those long lines. the dmv says they're working on hiring more employees to help but until then, it's best to try to make an appointment al those those could be months out or show up a couple hours before the dmv opens so you can be first in line like anthony. a list of the dmvs opening up on saturday on abc7news.com. reporting live here in san jose, matt keller,ne president tru

>> "abc 7 mornings.." >> all news. >> a rescue caught on camera after a crash in southern california. look at this, chp officers and some good samaritans saving a man from a burning car wednesday morning. the driver was unconscious but strangers on the freeway stopped to help chp officers and they arrived there o the scene. together they were able to pull the driver from the car. chp says that man and at least one other person were taken to the hospital with injuries. new developments now on the carr fire. firefighters and sheriff deputies from the menlo park fire protection district will fine drones over the redding area to assess the damage >> they've done this before in the tubs fire last year. they flew over the fountain grove area including the devastated coffey park neighborhood. that's what you're looking at here.

as we head down into the south bay we're starting off clear and 59 and we'll have sunshine and temperatures mainly in the 80s until los gatos and southward towards gilroy. low to mid 90s. north bay a little fog around napa, visibility a mile, mid to upper 80s this afternoon and haze from the mendocino complex fires. inland we'll have haze today and look at the temperatures here. all of us in the 90s if not the upper 90s around brentwood and discovery bay. tomorrow more of the same, few degrees cooler sunday but look at the 100s come back by wednesday inland. mid 60s around the bay but comfortable mid 60s at the coast. >> good morning. we don't have any major issues. we are looking good right now. we do have one crash blocking the left lane, westbound 92 just before 101 in the foster city area. that is starting to cause a backup. it didn't sound very serious initially but the fire department is on the scene and both vehicles involved are on the left shoulder. i am keeping an eye on that but that is pretty much it at the moment. check out the bay bridge toll plaza. still no metering lights.

the slight backup seeing approaching the 101 should clear out shortly. next traffic update at 6:40. >> thanks. later this morning a funeral is going to be held in oakland for nia wilson. >> she's the young woman fatally stabbed at the macarthur bart station last month. abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield is joining us from the newsroom with a look ahead. >> hi, jessica. the murder of nia wilson captured national attention. u.s. congresswoman barbara lee is scheduled to speak at the funeral this morning. several celebrities spoke out on social media about the death of 18-year-old nia wilson. a gofundme account has brought in $91,000 for her family. she was stabbed to death on the macarthur bart platform. her sister was also stabbed, but survived. police call the attack random and unprovoked. her family now plans to sue bart saying her death could have been prevented. the man accused of killing her had been stopped for fare evasion a few days earlier and her family says he should not have been allowed back into the

complex fires threaten more neighborhoods in lake county. >> the ranch fire has grown to nearly 84,000 acres and only 33% contained. mandatory evacuations are issued for part of lake county near the east side of the mendocino national forest. and to the south, the river fire has grown to 41,000 acres, containment there at 50%. that has gone up fortunately. cal fire says the flames are being fueled by hot temperatures and difficult to access terrain. fire crews are focused on structure protection with 8200 threatened. officials are trying to stop the ranch fire's northern push towards lake pillsbury, community full of summer rentals. firefighters in shasta county say they're making progress getting people back home. this morning only five neighborhoods in redding and some scattered areas remain evacuated. the carr fire has burned nearly 127,000 acres since it began

latino descent in early to mid 20s wearing a royal blue colored jacket, blue socks and shoes and black shorts. police say they have found the driver of a big rig that hit and killed a cyclist in lafayette. it happened in the area of reliez valley road and withers avenue. see sky 7 was above the scene. the bicyclist died at the hospital. we're told the driver was not detained. investigators are still looking for witnesses to the crash. new at 6:00 a.m., the mother of the missing college student who spent part of her childhood in oakland is not giving up hope. mollie tibbett's mom believes her daughter was abducted and is now being held captive. the 20-year-old university of iowa student vanished m two w ago. she was last spotted going for a jog in brooklyn, iowa. this morning, the missing woman's boyfriend dalton jack talked to "gma" and he has a message for anyone who might

the air quality warning it's open ended now. the officials saying until they can get the fire under control the air quality is going to be unhealthy for everybody you see in the gray here until that time has developed and who knows when that will be. hopefully in the next several days. we just don't know. all right. here's a look at the other areas that will have high fire danger in the red. see chico and sacramento, mid 90s, in palm springs and high fire danger in the sierra, especially tahoe through saturday, hazy sunday and gets warm monday, tuesday, wednesday. you've probably seen this by now but if you haven't stop and look. a rare firenado in redding. now we know that the wind speeds from one of these reached the level of an ef-3 tornado. the national weather service and cal fire are assessing the storm damage and say early indications put the maximum wind speeds more than 143 miles per hour. not only are you battling the fire, you're battling wind and battling the combination of

some other things to look at also as you can see from the exploratorium, yeah, there's a few clouds around oakland and up towards emeryville and along the coast in san francisco but the rest of us a lot of sunshine this morning. we're starting off drier, ending up warmer today and tomorrow and then we have a robust warming trend. the clouds coming across san francisco and golden gate trying to fill in the east bay shoreline. they will get as far south as hayward and quickly return to the coast where we'll see sunshine like we did yesterday, even more so and that's going to help your temperatures jump up a little bit also. 76 in santa cruz, the warmest spot along the coast today. look at the low to mid 90s, los gatos, morgan hill and gilroy. low to mid 80s for the south bay. 82 redwood city, palo alto 80, everybody in the 70s on a breezy peninsula this afternoon. breezy along the coast with the extra sunshine. check out the upper 60s for downtown, south san francisco and sausalito. mid to upper 80s most of the north bay, little breezy once again where it's calmer it's going to be warmer, cloverdale,
