the memorial service for nia wilson is set to get under way right now. the 18-year-old stabbed to death at a bart station will be remembered by friends, family and dignitaries. let's give you a live look inside at full gospel church in oakland, a lot of people at the door waiting to get in. the service is about to begin shortly. amy hollyfield live at the church with our coverage. amy? >> reporter: hi, good morning, kristen. yeah, it was scheduled to start at 11:00, but if you look behind

me you'll see there are a lot of people outside. they haven't made their way in yet. so it looks like we are going to be off to a late start here, but a large crowd to mourn nia wilson. and we are expecting congresswoman barbara lee to be speaking at today's service. let me show you some video of people as they arrived. some mourners told us that nia wilson's mother had put a request on facebook that people wear white and gold. we also saw her picture on t-shirts and on signs and lanyards. nia wilson was 18 years old and stabbed to death at the mcarthur bart station last month, and her family plans to sue bart. they believe her death could have been prevented. the man accused o had been pulled aside four

ago for not paying his fare. we also heard a lot of love for nia. >> everywhere she went she made some kind of effect. if you'd meet her, you'd never forget her. from the day i met her, we clicked. >> the deepest sympathy to the family, the loss. and we're here, you know. it's devastating, we're hurting and i just want to say, you know, we got to watch each other. we definitely have to watch for each other. >> reporter: we did see bart's general manager walking in, so she is here to pay hererments this morning, just a quiet

entrance. this as the family says they plan to file suit against b.a.r.t. next week. but today is about nia wilson and her funeral which is scheduled to get started any minute now. we hear congress woman barb lullbarbra lee will be speaking. a lot of dignitaries to pay their respects. >> let's give you an inside look at the service about to begin. those are mourners paying their final respects to victim nia wilson. we're live streaming the entire service. you can watch it on our website abc7news.com or abc 7 news app. breaking news into the abc 7 newsroom, the mendocino complex fires forcing more evacuations this morning. in the last few minutes issuing a mandatory evacuation order for

clear lake oaks, glenhaven. and lucern. the dangers apparently big enough now that people in those areas need to get out now. those new evacuations are happening as a red flag warning goes into effect in lake county. let's update you on the latest numbers. the ranch fire grew to more than 112,000 acres this morning. containment actually dropped to 28%. parts of lake county near the east side of the mendocino national forest are under mandatory evacuations. to the southwest the river fire remains at 41,000 acres. it's 50% contained. cal fire says hot temperatures and rough terrain are fueling the flames. fire crews are focused on protecting 9,200 structures. 41 homes have already been destroyed. breezy conditions definitely won't help firefighters battling the mendocino complex fires.

mike, it just went into effect, right? >> just started at 11:00. we expect those conditions to ramp up and be critical for quite a time frame across parts of the state. not only in mendocino county but you can see up near redding and all up and down the sierra. a little closer to home in lake county and they could gust up to 30 miles per hour. so we're talking a 36 hour period of heightened awareness and readiness and that if evacuation orders come you need to go immediately. so you need to be prepared. right now ware just watching the temperatures ramp up. notice the winds are calm just about 5 miles per hour. so in the next couple of hours those are going to start cranking up around 20 to 30 miles per hour, and they get erratic in the valleys and they're going to blow from northwest to southeast. so if you live southeast of

these fires you need to be prepared also. firefighters in shasta county say they're making progress. the fire has burned nearly 132,000 acres sense it began last week. this morning it's 39% contained. more than 1,500 structures are destroyed. about 1,000 of them homes. six people have died. rebuilding after a wildfire season could be a problem this year because theret enough construction workers. according to the website build zoom the state lost nearly 20% of its construction work force between 2005 and 2016. fewer young people are choosing career in construction opting instead for college degrees. go to the abc7news.com or app for the very latest on fires burning here in california. if you're using the app be sure to enable push alerts. an amber alert and search

right now for a 12-year-old taken from reagan national airport. authorities say she's in extreme danger. the girl was part of a chinese tour group that's now in san francisco. jessica? >> yes, that tour group from china is now in san francisco as you mentioned. meanwhile clear across the country police are still actively searching for the whereabouts of this 12-year-old girl. an amber alert has been issued. virginia police said in a statement she was last seen yesterday leaving ronald reagan national airport with an unknown woman. police say it wasn't until the group was starting to check in with security that another student with the tour group notified the chap roans that this young girl was missing. >> last night we were conducting interviews on the west coast. this group has already traveled to san francisco to continue their tour. so with the fbi's assistance

we're continuing to verify the information. >> the young girl is 4'11" and weighs about 90 pounds. asian, has black hair and brown eyes. last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and black backpack. the woman they say abducted her is asian, about 40 years old with black hair. officials have not ruled out that the 12-year-old girl might know the person she left with. at last check efforts to contact her family in china have been unsuccessful. >> jessica, thank you. investigators are not giving up hope in the search for a missing college student who spent part of her childhood in oakland. this morning they still haven't found 20-year-old molly this morning her father says the

family is very anxious. >> time is compressed, days seem like weeks and we've all become a family. >> investigators say they've been receiving tips from the public and they're pursuing all leads. new details now on the deadliest mass shooting in u.s. history. officials this morning released the final report from last october's massacre in las vegas. authorities say there's no evidence of a conspiracy or a second gunman. the report also found that paddock lost hundreds of thousands of dollars atika se c two years prior to the shooting. here in california drivers know waiting at the dmv is often frustrating and painful. but now trying to ease the burden by expanding weekend service. hi, matt.

>> reporter: hi, kristen. yeah, theine thrngs wis morning long. about 150 people. right now you've got probably 40 or 50 people in line. a lot of people frustrated they couldn't get an appointment and had to endure the line. what would a dmv be without a line? this one in san jose went around the building. >> i woke up very early and i'm still in line. >> reporter: she's here to get her ambulance driver certificate. a dmv worker gave her a time stamped green paper to track how long it takes her to get to the front of the line. the dmv is trying to improve wait times they say is due to the implementation of a new i.d., and new electronic i.d. applications. starting tomorrow they're expanding the number of field offices opening up on saturdays from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

russia meddled in the 2016 election and plans to be active again in the mid-terms this year in 2018. at a rally in pennsylvania last night the president called the entire probe a witch hunt and dismissed the threat from russia. that's in direct contradiction with what top officials said earlier sunday. >> we continue to see a pervasive messaging campaign by russia to try to weaken and divide the united states. >> since robert mueller's probe began last year mueller has indicted or secured guilty pleas from 32 people and three russian companies. it's going to be a breezy day here in the bay area this weekend, but otherwise the weather is looking good if you plan to be outdoors. jessica castro is back again with some ideas from our partners at hood line. >> grab the sunscreen, a hats and a large ice-cream cone. get excited for one of the

thanks for sticking around. a lot to talk about. let's start with the air quality. the wind shift has brought the smoke over a lot of our neighborhoods. but it's high enough in the atmosphere the air quality where we are is good to moderate right now and it's supposed to stay that way. but if you look elsewhere it's getting harder. it's hazardous around the carr fire. and you can see right here our mendocino complex fire, look how the smoke is coming down towards us, and then it takes off towards the east. so it looks like it's going to be a very hazy day in the sierra. once again you cannot see half dome from yosemite because of the hazardous air quality going on there. the brees are going to bring us slightly cooler weather, but we've got the heat wave that's

going to bring triple digits back to many parts of the state includesing us. here's a look at the sutro tower. with temperatures cooling sunday but it's just a tease because then we've got that inland heat wave next week. 50s at the coast, 60s around the bay and 70s inland. our destination 60s at the coast in san francisco, 70s around the bay, 80s the south bay, the north bay. but once you get into the outer edges mid-80s in lake port, and the east bay valleys will be in the low to mid-90s today. one of the hottest teams in baseball, the a's. they played the yankees in the playoffs if the season was to end today. but they're taking on the detroit tigers. and tomorrow night there's fireworks. let's talk about what's going on. you can see the smoke reaching all the way into the south bay, so hazy sunshine today.

it's going to be a bit warmer in the bay and inland, and as we head towards sunset which ought to be very colorful because of the smoke, and notice not much in the way of cloud cover tonight mid-50s to about the mid-60s. let's take a look at my accuweather seven-day forecast. steady pattern for tomorrow and then we've got minor cooling for saturday but look at the triple digits coming back by wednesday and still that free air-conditioning at the coast. i can't imagine what the folks are doing up in lake county, the stress of having to deal with the fires and now the fire danger getting even worse in that 36 hours. >> all right, let's hope those containment numbers don't go back up. a zoo
