7 news reporter amanda del castillo. everything stopped there. we want to get back to her with an update there. amanda? >> we jumped in the car because at around 4:44 is when traffic started moving. it's not exactly obvious which lane is open, but we know that everyone kind of moved a mile forward. this is toward treasure island. that's where we're planning on meeting chp for more answers about exactly what happened. we know this morning there was a fatal shooting and subsequent crash with three cars involved. let's go through kind of the timeline. around 2:23 is when a driver reported five -- hearing five shots and then seeing an suv crash into it. because of that collision, we were able to understand that the driver of the suv had died of gunshot wounds. there was three people in that car. the other two passengers we know one had gunshot wounds and the other was injured. all of that is kind of what led

people to take another bridge. >> just before 4:30 we were told that lane number three the middle lane was back open. we saw traffic getting by for a short time but once again, i believe these guys are all in drive. they would pass through the investigation scene but they're not moving once again. want to flip over to our camera in emeryville which we have pointed toward the bridge. we could see traffic heading over to the east bay. they made it past treasure and your ba buena i slandss. i'm not sure why they had to stop letting traffic through. we're working on confirming that with chp and amanda. i can show you this on our traffic maps. east bay 80 before treasure island really heavy. at least an hour delay and the backup is to about third street in the soma area of san francisco. i highly recommend heading south to san mateo bridge or north. a long detour but richmond san rafael bridge is a better bet. mike, good morning. >> hi, everybody.

welcome to monday. here's a look at the wind pattern, live doppler 7 there's barrel barely an on shore breeze. my planner, mid to upper 50s this morning through 7:00, 60s at the coast, low to mid 60s during the afternoon hours, 72 to 80 around the bay and 85 to 93. feeling warmer inland. we'll drop back into the 50s at the coast by 7:00, around the bay 73, still see 84 inland and we've got even warmer weather coming up in the accuweather seven-day forecast. see you in just a few minutes. here's jessica. new details at this hour, all five victims have been identified in yesterday's plane crash at an orange county shopping mall two miles from john wayne airport yesterday afternoon. the plane took off from beau cannon field in concord hours before. the pilot identified as

53-year-old scott shepherd. also killed in the crash were 62-year-old floria hakimi from danville, 42-year-old lara shepherd, 32-year-old navid hakimi and nasim ghanadan. ghanadan was a realtor in danville and her biography on the company's website say her clients appreciate her strong negotiation skills and cheerful spirit. her family confirms the flight was a business trip. the pilot of the cessna 414 declared emergency right before the plane crashed into the mall parking lot. the plane was registered to a san francisco real estate company and realtors -- investigators from the faa and ntsb now trying to determine what caused this plane to go down. cal fire still struggling to fight the mendocino complex fires as flames burned out of

control. the agency now says the ranch and river fires combined make up the fourth largest fire in california history. as of last night the complex fires have scorched nearly 267,000 acres. the burn areas cover mendocino, lake, and colusa counties. the fires have destroyed 68 homes, 9300 structures threatened. the ranch fire is 23% contaends. the river fire 58% contained. firefighters don't expect full containment until next wednesday. to the carr fire in shasta and trinity counties. pg&e lost one of its lineman rng.rday near where the fire is 21-year-old jairus ay ta who has ties to the bay area was on duet when involved in a vehicle accident. cornell bernard has details. >> reporter: friends say jairus ayes ta who everyone called jay loved him at pg&e.

he is smiles with his best friend brandon. pg&e says ayeta was working in shasta county near the scene of the carr fire when tragedy struck. >> we're working in dangerous terrain, performing electric power restoration work when he suffered fatal injuries associated with a vehicle accident. >> reporter: pg&e says he was an apprentice lineman who worked for the company for two years. he was a native of uganda who moved to santa rosa with his family several years ago. his cousin judith told us by phone how proud she was of jay. >> yeah. i was proud. and when he graduated and he got a job and a house, it seemed like he was really doing good. >> reporter: a fellow lineman told me jay was never negative, always hard working and dedicated to helping others. pg&e says it's now reviewing safety measures for all of its crews working in the fire zones.

cornell bernard, abc 7 news. and a gofundme page to help his family with expenses has raised more than $25,000 as of this morning. if you would like to help and for more details on this go to abc7news.com. drone teams from the bay area wrapped up their projects documenting damage and destruction caused by the carr fire. that's what you see in these photos. firefighters and sheriff's departments from menlo park used drones to capture high resolution photos and videos of the fire's destruction. the images are then stitched together to create 360 degree maps of effected communities to get a better sense of the impact. the two teams used the technology during the tubs fire in santa rosa last year. parts of yosemite national park closed indefinitely. >> all because of a deadly ferguson wildfire which made the park too dangerous for visitors and today the three main roads into yosemite valley have been overtaken by firefighters who are working around the clock to

keep those flames from advancing any further. we've learned dead and downed trees are burning and exploding. it's enough of a safety hazard to keep visitors away from the danger zone. >> there's a lot of dead and down fuel out there, we have a lot of trees, we have a lot of other grasses and fuels that are helping to fuel the fire. >> this fire has already been burning for 25 days now. it has burned more than 85,000 acres and only 38% contained. >> taking a look at a major traffic alert this morning. just joining us, most likely all lanes blocked on the lower deck of the bay bridge. we did get word one lane had reopened a little -- less than an hour ago i should say before 4:30 for a short time we saw traffic inching along. i haven't seen anyone move in 20 minutes here. i think all lanes are closed. once again all for the investigation, of a deadly shooting and crash around 2:25

this morning. obviously this is a fluid situation and chp is stopping traffic as they see they need to. you are looking at major delays out of san francisco. don't do it. take another bridge or bart to the east bay. on the other side of the bridge, westbound lanes not impacted by this, but we are seeing a stack up in the cash lanes and should have the metering lights in another 10, 15 minutes here. and we have a bart delay in as well due to earlier police activity on the fremont line. ten minute delay in the richmond and daly city directions. check in with meteorologist mike nicco. >> thank you very much, alexis. hi, everybody. you are never more than seven minutes away from my accuweather forecast. we'll start in our east bay, mid to upper 50s. out towards livermore, 59 pittsburgh and lafayette. 60 in pleasant hill and brentwood to antioch. one of the other warm spots, los gatos 72, valley, san jose 66, a lot of mid to upper 50s around

the bay shore until you get to san francisco out to pacifica and up 101 we've got low 50s. let's take a look at santa cruz. very busy over the weekend. a lot of sunshine that will be the case again today. there with temperature around 79 degrees. we'll see a little bit of sunshine elsewhere on our beaches and temperatures in the low to mid 60s. exercise, just watch out for the warmth this afternoon as we hit the mid 90s in inland neighborhoods and on the bay, got a small craft advisory for the entire bay this afternoon through the evening hours. now, san francisco break it down for the next 12 hours, look at all this sunshine that's going to push us into the mid and upper 60s from 2:00 to at least 6:00. mid 60s at the coast. upper 60s on the bayside. and then we'll head down over towards the east bay shoreline we start off at 60 and the sunshine pushes up to 73 by noon, mid to upper 70s for the better part of the afternoon hours and do to 66. peninsula we could reach 80

good morning and welcome back. we have a severe traffic alert on the lower deck of the bay bridge. no one getting by right now. approaching treasure island you can see traffic backed up all the way into san francisco. all due to the investigation of a deadly shooting and crash that happened before 2:30 today. don't do it. don't even attempt to take the bay bridge back to the east bay, richmond san rafael or bart the way to go. here's a look at what's going on on the water. we mentioned the small craft advisory from noon to 9:00 north of the bay bridge. from 3:00 to 9:00, a smaller window south of the bay bridge will keep things from getting overly hot today but won't save us come later on in the week. us come later on in the week. that forecast coming you can see there panic erupted throughout the indonesian island of lombok after a powerful magnitude 7.0

earthquake flattened buildings and toppled bridges. >> people watched in disbelief as a shopping mall garage crumbled on top of cars and motorcycles. the death toll stands at 91. although officials say that number will climb. lombok is located east of bali known for its beaches and surfing spots and a popular place for western tourists. >> and this just shows you the chaos after the earthquake. incredible video of some of the tourists and locals waiting to be evacuated off lombok. people trying to escape the damage getting off the island. rescuers say they haven't reached some of the devastated parts of the island where more than hal there are new developments on an alleged assassination attempt against the venezuelan president. the government claims the six

colombia. >> this morning the white house saying it wasn't involved. the attack could be heard on live tv while the venezuelan president spoke in a public square. the venezuelan government says the blast you heard there was caused by drones armed with explosives and one drone targeted the stage. the other exploded on a building as it fell. firefighters at the scene dispute this, though, saying to the associated press at least one explosion was from a gas tank in a nearby apartment building. venezuela has been dealing with an economic and humanitarian crisis. four nations including the u.s. have imposed economic sanctions on the government calling it an autocratic regime. president trump is making his first statement about the california wildfires and it's confusing some local experts. california wildfires are being magnified and so much worse by

the bad environmental laws which aren't allowing massive amounts of readily available water to be properly utilized. it is being diverted into the pacific ocean. must also tree clear to stop fire spreading. unquote. cal fire spokesperson lynette round said she had weren't heart of firefighters being short on water at the carr fire and mendocino complex fires. the paper spoke with lee roy westerly, a professor specializing in wildfire and climatology and says ongoing warming and accelerated climate change are driving these destructive fires. actress charlotte rae known as mrs. garret to millions of fans of "facts of life" is dead at the age of 82. rae originated the role for the sitcom "different strokes." facts was a spinoff that ran for nine years. several members of the "facts" cast expressed sorrow on

twitter. castmate kim fields wrote, you already know my heart is heavy. natalie on the show said, rae was her champion and a teacher. todd bridges, who starred in "different strokes" tweeted my heart is full of pain. she died yesterday at her home in los angeles. no cause has been given. all right. taking a look at a major traffic alert this morning. not much as changed on the lower deck of the bay bridge. not having much luck. we are working on contacting chp again and they told us an hour ago one lane was opened, the middle lane, around that shooting investigation before you get to treasure island. it looks like they just intermittently are letting a few drivers through. that's all we've seen. we're trying to see what's going on there, if they are going to be able to open up more lanes and we have amanda del castillo chp's public officer as well. she's stuck in the backup. eastbound 80 before treasure island where we have the sig

alert backed up into the sonoma area of san francisco. noticing heavy traffic on the westbound side. a report of a hazard blocking the middle lane. a mess on either side of the bridge. two miles an hour, that's optimistic, 22 miles on the westbound side of the bridge. want to get this in, chp issued a dense fog advisory for the golden gate bridge. >> i've been getting reports of mist along the coast this morning also, so be aware of that. hi, everybody. head down to the south bay where it's clear and 66. sunny around the bay and inland, partly cloudy at the coast with a warming trend beginning, cool lows and clear conditions along the bay and at the coast tonight and yeah, that inland wilting weather that is coming possibly triple digits. a look at satellite, see the huge area of low pressure over the eastern pacific, but it's the high pressure to our east that's going to pump up and transport the warm air from the desert into our neighborhoods.

you can see it working its way into gilroy, 99, morgan hill 94, 92 los gatos, 79 in santa cruz today. everybody else low to mid 80s with 86 in san jose. we'll have low to mid 80s, redwood city, southward through the peninsula. further north, mid to upper 70s, along the coast mid 60s until the sunset and 62. near 70 at downtown, south san francisco, sausalito 72, low 60s with more sunshine along the north bay coast. micro climate from 83 sonoma, 93 santa rosa, 87 in san rafael. along the east bay shore, 74 richmond, oakland 76, 80 fremont and the air conditioner probably going to need low to upper 90s in our east bay valleys. here's the save grace, at night 50s and 60s oncere's my accuwea forecast keeps going up through thursday.

our hottest 70 at the coast. 100 inland. saturday and sunday weekend warriors back to average. happening today, mineta/san jose airport will become the first airport on the west coast to use facial recognition technology on all international flights. the airport started using the technology on arriving international passengers back in june. it's already in place in orlando, so this is video from the orlando international airport in florida. facial biometric cameras are used to compare on file of passport photos and officials say it takes less than two seconds. it's 99% accurate and does not violate passengers' privacy. in "gma" first look dozens of first responders pulled off a rescue of a girl who found herself stuck while rockim minne here's gio benitez. >> reporter: in this morning's "gma" first look, scarlet is one lucky teen now thanking the man who helped save her life.

the short version of this is, if you're trying to go eastbound n. amanda del castillo is on the bridge and she is watching these cars as they are not moving, amanda. >> yeah. and new in the last ten minutes, more bad news for the drivers. all of the eastbound lanes are shut down once again. at one point chp opened at least one lane but that investigation continues into that deadly shooting and the subsequent crash. i want patrick to pan out. you can see all of the traffic. no one is moving. we were able to move about a mile and a half towards treasure island and that's where we're expected to meet with chp officers to really get an update on what happened. but if you're just joining me, let's get you caught up. around 2:23, when police got the first call about a driver hearing about five gunshots. after those gunshots were heard, we know that driver was hit by anin the

he driver of that suv died of gunshot wounds. a second had gunshot wounds and a third passenger in the suv had some unknown injuries. we know that driver of the car that it crashed into is doing all right this morning. but there is a third car. we still don't know much about it. chp isn't releasing any suspect description because they don't have any. again, last ten minutes, the newest update is that all of the lanes are still closed. traffic just moving a few inches in the last few minutes. even -- but no one is moving. people are actually hopping out of their car, taking a stretch. they've been here for more than two hours now. we also know that motorcycles are turning right back around and heading off the bridge going the opposite direction of the traffic. the traffic is not moving. we are going to stay here, hopefully make our way to treasure island soon to get more information for you guys. for now reporting live from the bay bridge, amanda del castillo,

abc 7 news. >> thank you. and let's check in with alexis now. obviously not the direction we wanted to go. we were hoping it was going to get better. >> it is brutal. and i am checking in with our partners at waze looking at the comments from drivers stuck in this. one just had an extremely long flight across the atlantic, landed at sfo trying to get home. he's been sitting there about three hours. a lot of folks trying to get home from work who are working overnight shift there. it's awful. as amanda said, a lot of folks turning off the engines getting out of their vehicles to conserve gas there. all lanes shut down, eastbound 80 approaching treasure island due to the shooting investigation. no estimate on when lanes will reopen. it's a long detour but highly recommend heading down to san mateo bridge or north across the richmond-san rafael bridge. bart up and running at this point too. that is an option as well. there's a look at the sig alert. traffic backed up into the sonoma area and that two miles an hour, that is really optimistic, really zero miles an

hour, not moving on eastbound 80. want to point out the westbound side you are jammed from treasure island back to the toll plaza. it's due to some type of hazard blocking lane number three and the bay bridge metering lights for westbound 80 pretty early. official time 5:20. either side a mess at this point. let's check in with meteorologist mike nicco and i guess you have better news than i do here today. >> i have pretty good news. you were showing nice shots there. i wasn't looking at the traffic all the time. i was looking at the sky and notice the lack of cloud cover the air is dry, we don't have fog to contend with, until you get around half moon bay and maybe mist hanging in the air. as you get towards the golden gate bridge. sutro tower just nothing over top of us right now. that means early sunshine today. my accuweather 12-hour planner and a warming trend. we start off very comfortable, mid to upper 50s. we'll be in the 60s at the coast this afternoon, contrast that with the bay, 72 to 80 from noon to 4:00. 85 to 93 inland. and we're still around 60 at the

coast at 7:00, mid 70s to 80s for our bay and inland neighborhoods. more on the warming trend coming up. over to jessica for more news. >> thank you. on to developing news from san rafael where police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that left a man dead with -- that's left a man with life-threatening injuries. authorities are saying that a san rafael officer shot and critically hurt the man they say was threatening police with two knives. the shooting happened just after 9:00 on verde and belvedere streets. police tried negotiating with the suspect even using less than lethal rounds on the man with no effect. the man was rushed to a local hospital. police have not released his identity yet. >> this morning the ntsb is trying to figure out what brought down a plane that killed five employees of a bay area business. >> the plane took off from buchanan airfield in concord before crashing two miles short of john wayne airport in santa

ana. we are learning the identities of everyone on board. aim amy hollyfield is live in danville with more on this story. >> hi, good morning, jessica. we know the names of the victims, three of them are listed as working here at pacific union real estate in danville and it does appear that some of the victims may have been related. the victims from 29 to 62. scott shepherd was the pilot, lara shepherd on board, with floria hakimi and navid hakimi and nasim ghanadan. we have her picture. she is a realtor here in danville who works it says on the website she treats her clients like family. her family confirms she was on a business trip. the plane crashed into a shopping center parking not santa ana and orange county and killed everyone on board. no one on the ground was

the plane did crash into a car in the parking lot. >> see a car based on your picture, the plane made contact with the car in the position it is now. fortunately that person was inside the store shopping at the time of impact. the pilot declared an emergency in the air and given permission to land at john wayne airport the plane had taken offer from concord. reporting live in danville, aimds, abc 7 news. >> arson investigators looking into what set a fire that killed 14-year-old twin girls and their mother in vallejo yesterday morning. >> the 14-year-old twins trinh and tram tran and a woman who friends say was their mother got trapped when their house on georgia street caught fire.

the twins' 11-year-old sisr gge police officer who happened to be driving by. last night friends stopped by their house to pay respects to the family. >> they were really sweet to me. they would always talk to me. one had a really fun attitude and was really loving and they were good girls. >> investigators won't say why, but they believe the fire is suspicious and calling it an active criminal investigation. the wildfires burning in mendocino, colusa and lake counties exploded in size over the weekend to a combined 267,000 acres burned. >> and new evacuation orders were ordered yesterday. some others were lifted as firefighters worked to get a handle on the river and ranch fires. cal fire says stable weather allowed crews to suppress some of the fire activity yesterday. the fires have destroyed 68 homes, 15,000 structures are threatened. crews have 58% containment on
