set herself on fire and her 14-year-old twin daughters did not survive. an 11-year-old daughter escaped the fire by climbing out of a window. statements from her and other witnesses and physical evidence led to their conclusion. sentencing began today for the two men held criminally responsible for the deadly ghost ship warehouse fire and what was said in court even brought the judge to tears, it was very emotional. 36 people died when fire sparked during a concert at a makeshift warehouse off fruitville boulevard in oakland. officially, the cause of the fire is undetermined. carlos has been in court all day with the story and joins us live. >> reporter: emotions were high as we heard from many family members throughout the day, many in tears as they talked about their loved ones but also pleaded with the judge to reconsider the plea agreement,

one they call too lenient. people left the courtroom, many still in tears after hours of emotional testimony from friends and families of the ghost shippp fire. they were killed in the inferno after being trapped inside. families spoke after the 2016 oakland blaze as a search for loved ones and share the victim's dreams. the aunt of 21-year-old victim, mckayla gregory, urged the judge for a stricter sentence of them. one had his back the entire time. >> i think they should have faced us. through a plea deal, derick almena and harris pleaded no contest avoiding a lengthy trial, many critical to what they call a lengthy sentence. almena set to face nine years in

still warm inland and still don't have triple digit temperatures and highs in mid to upper 90s and mid to upper 90s in the north bay as well. looking ahead to saturday, minor cooling and inland areas drop down to low 90s in the warmest spots, low to mid-70s and low to mid 60s on the coast and further cooling on sunday and monday we have the same temperature range we see on sunday. the average range of temperatures no extremes likely, may be the beginning of a steady pattern next week. three-day weekend. golden get a park, the outside lands music festival. high temperatures getting up to or just above 68 degrees. great weather for the outside land's music festival. notice the cooling trend that begins saturday will continue next week.
