good morning south bay let's get up and get going. >> announcer: this is "abc7 mornings." it's 5:00 on this august 10th, mike and natasha has the day off, alexis is here today. >> jessica castro is reporting in the field today and you are never more than seven minutes away from the forecast. >> we're showing you live doppler 7 satellite image. we're starting off with fog, thick in some parts. here's a live view and here's how your day planner works out. temperatures in the 50s and 60s. it will be breezy this afternoon and that's going to allow for temperatures to come down a little bit from yesterday and also improve air quality. by this afternoon temperatures still very warm inland, in the mid 90s around the bay we reach near 80 degrees. and at the coast the sea breeze keeps things cool in the 60s.

sunset, 8:08, temperatures will be dropping. we have an issue in the fairfield area, westbound 80 past texas street, we have a vehicle fire blocking the lane, right now. other than that we are fairly quiet. here's an empty side of the richmond side of the bridge, no delays approaching the toll plaza there. the larger of the two fires making up the historic mendocino complex fire is now 49% contained. >> crews are still weeks away from reaching full containment. the ranch fire has burned 256,000 acres the smaller river fire has destroyed near 49,000 acres and it' senator harris toured an evacuation center in middleton yesterday and talked about what

the federal government might do to helplessen fire dangers. >> we can have a conversation about deforestation, the millions of dead trees out there, and certainly a conversation about climate change and understand without any doubt that cat pe rates the danger of the fires. a one stop assistance center is set up at the alpine senior center it will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every day through next fire. the firefighter killed in a single car crash was from chicco. he died yesterday morning on highway 99. he was on his way to work. this is the 8th death linked to the carr fire. it has burned nearly 179,000 acres and is 49% contained. anybody else in the house? >> nobody is here. we need fire trucks [bleep].

the three page letter and photos are addressed to various members of congress. it addresses misconduct by members of the california state lottery management team while traveling on the state's dime. the photos attached in the letter allegedly show managers on a 2016 work trip at a bar, one giving someone the middle finger, another with his head up a woman's shirt. according to the letter it's a gross violation of the code of conduct. >> i'm not surprised, no. i'm not surprised. >> donna sullivan worked for the lottery for over 30 years and just recently retired, she says because of behavior like this. >> the climate just got very, very bad. it's where you really didn't want to go to work or have to meet. it would be better if, in fact,
