on. it doesn't look like they need it. we're going to start with an update on our fires. the larger of the two fires making up the mendocino complex fire is now 49% contained. >> crews are still weeks away from reaching full containment. the ranch fire has burned 256,000 acres. the river fire destroyed nearly 49,000 acres that nearly contained. senator harris toured an evacuation center in middleton yesterday and talked about what the federal government might do to help lessen fire dangers. >> we can have a conversation about deforestation, the millions of dead trees out there, and a conversation about climate change and understand that exasperates the dangers of the fire. >> an assistance center is set

the alameda county sheriff's office need your help to find this man. they have an arrest warrant issued for alexander james rhodes. he's suspected of assaulting a small child. he's a transient. if you know where he is or have any information about the case, you are asked to call the alameda county sheriff's office. bart has approved a $20 million plan to address security concerns in the wake of recent violence. the board of directors voted to continue research in expanding the video surveillance system and the platform of emergency call boxes. a controversial proposal to add facial recognition software was not considered. >> i respect people's right to privacy. so we have to find that balance, and that's going to be tough. >> they'll take another vote on separate safety measures later this month. jury deliberations are expected to continue throughout

hit me up on my dms. thanks, jess. >> wishful thinking. a one-stop assistance center for neighbors affected by the fires today. >> the ranch and river fires burned a combined 310,000 acres of land. the smaller river fire is 87% contained and the ranch fire 49%. fire officials say it will still take until at least next month to fully surround the two fires. they've desfroied 119 homes and 900 structures still threatened. the assistance center will help with everything from insurance matters to debris removal and food and medical care. it's open from 10:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. every day through next friday. the mendocino complex fire and other fires have made liability a hot topic at the state capital. the main issue who should be financially responsible for

evacuation order for some neighbors. eight people hurt after a serious crash. it's reported it was a near head on collision on lake view highway. it happened around 8:30 last night. the fire chief told the press democrat several people in the crash were critically injured, the victims were taken to area hospitals. more testimony at the sentencing hearing for the two men chashlged in the ghost ship warehouse fire. families of victims killed in the fire are slamming the plea deal made with the men. they'll get 9 and 6 years. families call the agreement a sweetheart deal. they had their back to the stand during testimony yesterday. >> they should have faced us.

they should have looked at us. >> the sentence is unfair. almena and harris could have faced life in prison if convicted at trial. they've spent a year in jail and could end up spending half their sentences in jail behavior. the g happening today, the first sexual abuse lawsuit will be filed against san jose's presentation high shool and its current president and former principal, mary miller. last fall a group of alumni called make prez safe, accused the school of failing to report sexual abuse complaints. several former students alleged the school covered up more than a dozen cases that go back at least three decades. school officials said the campus responded appropriately to reports of sexual harassment or

afternoon. right now there are flight departure delays at oakland airport due to noise abatement program. 86 in san jose. if you're headed to the golden gate park, you'll need a jacket all three days, breezy and cool with winds picking up to 30 miles per hour this afternoon and evening. notice it continues to drop, the temperatures each day. temperatures will be 50s for the most part tonight with low low 60s out there. we have hazy conditions, hot temperatures inland but temperatures cool through the weekend into monday with improving air quality as well. we have had a handful of issues this morning but nothing currently. we're having a tough time finding anything to show you. not a bad thing on this friday morning commute. here's westbound 80, light volumes approaching the maize. no delays there if you are trying to cross the bay bridge. and everything has been looking
