>> reporter: we are at corpus christi church, and they're just about to begin a prayer service for mollie tibbetts. she disappeared in iowa, but she actually grew up in oakland, went to corpus christi school right up the hill. here's some photos, she has been missing now for 3 1/2 weeks. the community here in the east bay is praying for her, hoping for her, sending her family all of their love. they all believe that she is out there somewhere, and are hoping for her quick and safe return. mollie went missing on july 18th. she's a college student, but she was home in brooklyn, iowa, a very small rural town of about 1,500 people. she was out for a run, and then she disappeared. everyone has been looking for her ever since. now, she spent her early childhood in oakland, she was here until she was about 10 years old and then she moved with her mom and two brothers to iowa. i spoke to a young man here this evening, he's also in college, but he went to school with

mollie until they were in third grade. i spoke with a woman who arranged tonight's prayer service. >> she's just genuinely such a sweet person, outgoing and friendly. i remember her being there for people and overall being a light in people's lives. >> if ewe lived in iowa, we'd b searching the corn fields with her family. making meals. all we can do is share on social media, pray, and just keep the story going. >> reporter: and this is another photo of mollie tibbetts. her friends here tell me they are trying to circulate this on social media, on snap, on facebook, anywhere and everywhere, trying to get the word out as far as they can. in the hopes that mollie will come home. i also s going to be giving the service here tonight, and he knew mollie and her brothers as wellng ir. he -- younger. he's been working and think bes

for the family and send those prayers back to iowa. there's a large reward fund that's cropped up, more than $300,000. i spoke to her mother on the phone tonight in iowa, and we hope to bring you the latest at 11:00. live in corpus christi, oakland. two people are dead and a teenage driver is in custody after a deadly crash in walnut creek. cornell barnard is live at the scene of the crash. >> reporter: the chp says five teenagers were in that car about 4:00 this morning when that crash happened. two of them tragically were killed. two badly injured. and the driver was also injured as well. remnants of the crash can still be seen here. chp says the driver was under the influence when she careened off the 680 flyover, the car plunging to the ground below. >> there's just loss all aroundh now. >> friends and family members

hugged keeping vigil outside of the medical center for two 18-year-old women badly injured in a terrible car crash early sunday morning. the crash killed two 18-year-old men who were also riding in the car. >> everyone right now just needs to be held up in prayer, we're asking everyone to send up good thoughts. i can't begin to imagine the pain that those families are experiencing right now. >> reporter: car plunged off this connector ramp from -- to 680. >> my understanding is this was maya's core group of friends. >> the chp says she suffered major injuries in the crash and is now facing serious charges. >> she's placed under arrest npt in the hospital. >> the family disputes the fact the recent graduate from deer valley high school was driving

drunk. >> no toxicology reports have come back at this point. so we don't know what actually occurred. >> well, this is an underage drinking and driving collision that could have been prevented, awful situation, and very tragic for everybody. >> reporter: neighbor steve woods says the crash is just too sad to describe. >> it's tragic. it's really sad that two people lost their lives. >> reporter: the chp says for maya ramey's injuries were severe, but not life threatening. the two female passengers remain hospitalized, their names and the names of the two men who lost their lives have not yet been released. suspected dui driver faces murder charges for a crash that killed a pedestrian on 80 in oakland overnight. the chp says 56-year-old berkeley resident maury butler struck the person after that person's car broke down in the middle of the freeway this

morning. he did not see the disabled car and hit the victim. officers say they smelled alcohol on butler's breath when he was arrested. butler has three previous do, ui convictions. the largest wildfire in state history is forcing more people out of their homes tonight. new evacuation orders were issued late this afternoon for people in the lake pillsbury area. the mendocino complex fires are 70% contained since they started 17 days ago, the two fires burning near clear lake have destroyed 146 homes. the nelson fire is now fully contained. it burned 2,100 acres and destroyed one structure. firefighters across the state are being aided by cooler and calmer weather. drew tuma has a look at the conditions here in the bay area. drew? ou r encompassed lake county and northern california have been cancelled today. the fire danger is decreasing.

part on reason why, cooler air move in, especially here to the bay area. most spots are two to eight doors cooler than this time yesterday. future weather is showing you part of the reason why, you have the marine layer coming back, the fog, you can see it as you look towards the western horizon. the fog will expand over the next 12 hours. that will lead to a cooler afternoon on the way tomorrow. we'll take a look at those numbers coming up in the full accuweather forecast in a few minutes. >> all right, drew. today marks one year since a man at a white supremacist rally in charlottesville, virginia drove into a crowd and killed one person. to mark thevehite nationalists rallied in washington, d.c. today. houns of counterprotesters crowded around the protesters who was escorted by law enforcement. in charlottesville the mother of the woman who was killed last year visited the protest site. reporter dowan hogart was there.

>> reporter: the unite the rally that took the entire city and the nation by storm. i do want to walk you through the day to show you how much the day progressed and highlight how things took a turn for the worst. just moments after arriving to the intersection of fourth and water streets, yards away from where heather higher was killed we were let known our presence was not welcomed. someone cut our audio cable feet away from where virginia state police lined the streets keeping the peace. on the other side of police, a calmer, much more peaceful crowd gathered at heather's memorial to pay their respects. the mother chose a song to dedicate to her daughter, and offering a few words.

focus on the issues. that's what heather would say, quit looking at me, look at the issues. >> place making an arrest outside the perimeter. >> reporter: police arresting 29-year-old chloe luben of portland, maine. disorderly conduct, obstruction of justice. >> look at how negative you guys are being, and maybe at a time where the mom wants some peace, okay? >> that's it. >> reporter: the contrast of behavior between protesters and those simply wanting to pay respect to hyer summed by one of the city's councilman, watching from a distance, and oftentimes intervening to prevent further escalation. >> everybody grieves and expresses themselves differently. from a law enforcement

perspective, they're here to make sure everything is safe. the last thing they want is what happened last year to happen again. >> reporter: well, it's still unclear exactly why protesters were chanting foul language at police, or even agitating them or others. the woman who was arrested, she has since been released on bond. she's one of four people who police tell us they have arrested today. and on day two of this one-year anniversary weekend, still no sign of any white supremacists here in charlottesville. people all over the bay area have to face skyrocketing rental prices. that includes the 49ers who are now seeing their monthly bill shoot up more than $200,000. we'll tell you why. and it's a big day for transportation in san francisco. details next.

the city of santa clara has -- last week an arbitrator denied the 49ers 'request to reduce their rent to $4.25 million. instead the rent will increase by $262,000 to 24.762 million each year. the mayor said the decision will allow the city to maintain its accelerated pace of paying down the stadium's debt.

next 24 hours as cooler air continues to filter in across the region. live doppler 7 along with satellite showing you we do have that marine layer has returned to the coast and that fog is thickening at this hour. take you a live look outside right now from our emeryville camera. you can see the fog has pretty much swallowed up all of san francisco already at this early evening hour. so we are in store for a pretty foggy night for many of us around the bay shoreline. winds right now a big reason why we have that cooler air across many spots. you can see the winds right now are gusting anywhere from 18 at san francisco at this hour, 13 in san jose, 21 that current wind in fairfield. and once again, that onshore breeze coming off of that cooler ocean water that is continuing to bring us cooler air across the region. the trend does continue tomorrow as well. so temperaturewise right now it's chilly on the coast, and it's late evening, 55 right now for half moon bay. but inland, we're still rather

wa warm. 89 in concord. 78 in san jose. in oakland, checking in at 63 degrees as that fog approaches the east bay in the coming hours. overnight tonight, here's a call from accuweather, the big story is the marine layer. it is expanding at this hour so it will be a foggier night tonight than last night. you can see most spots in the next 12 hours dropping into the 50s for your starting temperatures on your monday. so, your 12-hour day planner as we get you into your monday, we have those clouds early on for a lot of us. the gradual clearing midday into the afternoon we have the sunshine peeking out for most of us at the coast. it's breezy, similar to what we're experiencing rite now, winds 10 to 20 miles an hour. that will bring in cooler air, 70s and 80s for most of us, kind of wiping out a lot of 90s inland today. breezy on monday for san francisco, about 64, 80 in fremont, warmer in san jose. oakland, a degree shy of 70 tomorrow afternoon. inland, mid to upper 80s, 86 for

concord, 86 for santa rosa, and richmond, 68 degrees later on tomorrow. if you're lucky enough to hit the coast to get cooler air, highs tomorrow, a lot of low 60s. the only exception, santa cruz, a high of 72 degrees. morning fog, some afternoon sunshine for that uv index still running very high. put on the sunscreen. traveling across the state tomorrow, you move away from the coast and you do see warmer air is pretty prevalent. sacramento, 88 tomorrow afternoon, 101 in fresno. south l.a., it will be warm with a high of 84 degrees. fog in the morning, cooler afternoon tomorrow, likely coastal drizzle for us on tuesday morning. it's cool for august midweek on wednesday. that cooler air doesn't stick around too long. by friday, and especially saturday, it is warm to hot for many of us. now sports from abc 7 news. tiger woods shot his lowest final round in a major today, but the big cat wasn't able to chase down golf's newesttttttttt
