a bad crash with a semiseriously hurts an oakland police officer. we're learning more about how an early morning call led to the officer being rushed to the hospital. thanks for joining us. we've learned this morning the impact of that crash was so significant the officer had to be rescued from his patrol car. jessica castro live for us in oakland. >> reporter: you can see the road is still blocked off. this investigation is still under way. thed ways back behind me. and you can see as we zoom in three vehicles that

officer was inside, a silver car, and a semi-truck. right now the officer is hospitalized in critical condition. an oakland police officer involved in a horrible crash at the port of oakland. the officer crashed into two vehicles, the impact so hard he became trapped inside his patrol car. the officer was unconscious as firefighters rescued him. >> the officer was trapped inside the vehicle. oakland police officers attempted to try to get the door open to get the officer out. they were not able to. the oakland fire department came and was able to extricate the officer out of the vehicle. >> the crash happened just before 3:00 this morning as the officer responded to a call about a suspicious person in the area. >> the first vehicle was coming out of the port entry which is berth 55 and 56.

>>ewetails in the case of the man now accused of being the golden state killer. police in the central valley town say that james deangelo killed clod snelly after o abdu 16-year-old daughter. deangelo is being charged with first degree murder. he was a professor at the college. he's in a sacramento county jail and accused of several other rapes and murders in southern california. we've just learned the names of two teenagers killed on walnut creek. the car fell up to 50 feet off the connecting ramp. the victims are identified, both from antioch. police say the driver, the 18-year-old was intoxicated behind the wheel. reports have

trump's official cabinet members will visit redding for briefings with local leaders. the secretary ryan zincy and secretary purdue will also walk through ravaged areas. peter struck faced off republicans in june during a bitter congressional hearing regarding those text messages. according to struck's attorney the fbi's deputy director ordered the agent's termination on friday even though officials decided struck should be demoted and suspended for 60 days for his actions. struck's attorney says his client was fired because of political pressure for expressing his first amendment rights. people using public transportation inebrate this morning. the first bus for the commute.om

>> reporter: omarosa says she was complicit staying by president trump's side after he made racially explicit comments. happening today federal investigators will send the black boxes from a stolen passenger plane to washington, d.c. they found the flight data recorder and part of the cockpit voice recorder in the plane's wreckage south of seattle yesterday. the devices should provide some clues about what was going on inside the cockpit of that horizon air. he stole the plane and flew it around puget sound for more than an hour. he made wild loops before the plane crashed into an island. and people who knew russell are stunned. >> you could tell he was in pain, kind of seemed a little delusional, and i was just shocked to see that someone who was so nice and so helpful and caring -- actually, he cared about his job to do such a

live doppler 7 and the satellite image, notice we are socked in at the coast. the marine layer has deepened. onshore flow has increased, and temperatures are going to be coming down the next couple of days. winds already breezy in san francisco. 17 miles, 18 miles per hour in fairfield, and the wind will pick up this afternoon. 10 to 20 miles around the coast and along the bay. and that's why things are still pretty cool in san francisco. only 56 degrees right now, oakland 63, and san jose already 72 as well as morgan hill. half moon bay already cooler, 57. looking towards emeriville out towards those gray skies, already starting to break up, though. nevado, 64 and check out concord and livermore already in the mid-70s. you see some haze there in mount diablo, so air quality will be monitored in the east bay. this is due to high containment

in the fires and also that onshore breeze. only partial clearing at the coast. 16 half moon bay, san francisco 64, oakland 69 degrees, san jose plenty of sunshine, 83 degrees. and the inland areas near 90s in a few spots. lake port, 92, some 86s in napa and also in santa rosa. now, because of that onshore flow it means the clouds will push back in again later on tonight and we'll wake up to some drizzle along the coast, and it will get chilly dropping to the 50s in some spots. san jose will be 59 degrees. now, i want to show you what you can expect the next seven days in antioch. we'll be dropping temperatures into tuesday. tuesday, wednesday, we'll stay on the cool side. and then we are coming back up
