. he was not the person who was supposed to be picking her up. >> an uber driver behind bars accused of sexually assaulting a young woman he picked up in san francisco. >> this is just one of many recent ride share-related attacks. kate larson is live in san francisco for us and you spoke to police and uber about what passengers can do to prevent the violent incidents. >> reporter: that's right. i spoke to uber who said that the suspect is no long or their app. he had been driving with uber since early this year and there were no previous complaints against him. an uber spokesman said uber can't prevent everything from happening and people need to learn how to protect themselves. >> he drove up and she got in the vehicle, believing it was her uber. >> while he was an uber driver, it was not the uber they

ordered. in the early morning hours of july 14th, a young woman got in the car of an uber driver who was off work. that man, 30-year-old kevin, drove the woman from san francisco to her home in union city where he sexually assaulted her. he was arrested tuesday in south san francisco. >> she had been drinking, but was aware enough that she knew she was sexually assaulted. >> on tuesday night in san mateo, another woman was sexuex sexually assaulted by someone pretending to be a ride share driver. she later escaped. >> be aware and alert. >> she so frequently uses ride shares, she and her friends have a safety system. >> check the license plate number, who the driver's name is. is this for erin or karen? >> don't get into a car with a stranger you don't know. we have a society that makes it
