. chaos at a crowded east bay park filled with children as gunshots ring out during a celebration. i'm eric thomas. >> i'm dion lim. a berkeley park packed with children. >> one shooting victim is in critical condition, the other is stable. katie utehs spoke with witnesses and has more details. >> celebrations in the park, children's birthday parties, al >> they heard a lot of shots and everybody was frantic and scared and running for their lives. >> one victim in the back. >> witnesses say three men were shot in an apparent drive-by. two men hit in the stomach, one

with a grazed wound to his hand. >> it's pretty disconcerting. >> police markers fill the streets. one family was celebrating a birthday when the shooting happened around 5:30. >> there were a lot of children. my sister-in-law gave a birthday party for her grandson. so we had a lot of family out here. >> witnesses tell us the gunshots came from the street striking two men in this area of the park. it interrupted what was a 40-year anniversary of friendship party, people ran leaving behind their party barbecue. berkeley police released few details. the crime shook people in the park. >> i love you guys. >> neighbors say a shooting in the same area occurred back in may. >> needs to stop. >> police say one victim is this critical condition, the other is stable. in berkeley katie utehs, abc7

news. smoke, fog, and hot weather have prompted another spare the air day in bay area. you can see the haze and it's going to be worse tomorrow. >> for a look at what we're in store for sunday, let's get to lisa. >> yes, in fact, we have another spare the air alert for sunday but fog will make progress in the next 24 hours. here's a look at the conditions where the oranges indicate sensitive groups may have trouble with the air quality, certainly in sacramento valley and tomorrow in the bay area, in the south bay in particular. also in the east bay, so we are looking at temperatures coming down just slowly tomorrow. right now we are still in the 70s from concord to brentwood. 53 with fog if san francisco. three mile visibility in petaluma. cooler right now and cooler tomorrow. looks like the trend will continue for much of the work week. i'll have details in a few minutes. the smoke from the mendocino

complex fires is one of the reasons we have a spare is air alert. the river fire was contained earlier in the week. the ranch fire which is the largest in state history charred more than 334,000 acres. further north in the redding area, cal fire is making progress on a destructive carr fire. it is now 81% contained. the flames have burned more than 227,000 acres or about 350 square miles. the fire has been burning for nearly a month and has destroyed more than 1,000 homes. the eastern ench is burning tards lake you're looking at video provided by the hol patrol. a flight paramedic is being lowered to hoist the injured man from the ground.

much federal funding each state receives as well as its representations in congress. new at 11:00, a dramatic video shows a sacramento police suv hitting a 16-year-old boy on a sidewalk during a chase. it's started when officers stopped the teen for not having a forward-facing light on his bike. the boy took off and the whole thing was taped by body cam. the teen jumped out of the way at the last second but gets hit. sacramento police are calling ate an unintended collision. the suspect is later seen being handcuffed. the incident sparked community outcry. nowhere animals in costa county testing positive for west nile virus. other cases were confirmed in birds or in mosquitos in martinez, oakley, and discover bay.

lisaar general. this a's are on an incredible run that's caught the attention of the entire big leagues. just two months ago oakland trailed the al west leading astros by 12 games. today they are coleaders. and this guy was super excited because he saw a lot of doubles hit against the reigning world champions. khris davis got it started off dallas keuchel. that two-run start brought in two. marcus semien and jed lowrie come in to score. a's had solid defense behind trevor cahill, though.

kyle shanahan wasn't upset about the loss to houston in their second presubsidy game. he was not pleased with the team's 15 penalties to the tune of 140 yards. that does not win regular season games. the starting offense looks strong. it's a lot easier when you don't have them in your face. goodwin in the opening drive, that's a 40-yard gain. garoppolo then capped it with a two-yard pass to taylor. liking that one. the teams only had field goals until 34 seconds left in the game. joe webb aired it out, 41 yards to smith. he rolled into the end zone, so the texans win 16-13. the raiders will play the rams in their season opener, so john gruden didn't dress dereck carr and 15 starters. offense struggled except this one bright spot.
