warning students and staff members could be delayed because there is a driver shortage at muni. muni tells us they have adjusted and they took 72 operators from part-time status to full time and made that move on friday to get them ready for this week. they say that's going to provide 700 more hours from their workers this week. they are hoping that that will have a huge impact as the students head back to school, but the school district has been put on notice just in case the staff is ready. anything could happen today on this first day of school. we'll be watching, but everyone take note, there could be some issues with muni today. reporting live in san francisco, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. happening today the attorney for a man arrested by i.c.e. in san bernardino plans to file a motion to have him released on bond. the man was taken into custody wednesday when he and his pregnant wife were stopped at a gas station on the way to the hospital to deliver their baby.

i.c.e. says he is wanted for an arrest in mexico on homicide charges. his attorney denies any criminal history in mexico. i.c.e. is moving forward with proceedings to have him deported. new this morning, a public warning issued by the san francisco d.a.'s office to city restaurants to watch out for cyber extortionists. according to "the chronicle" at least two restaurants, one in hayes valley and the other in dog patch have received threatening letters they say they will send pictures to news outlets unless the restaurant pays them a sum. the felony is punishable by two years in jail and fines. president trump trying to discredit a "new york times" report that white house counsel met with special counsel robert mueller. the report confirmed by abc news said don mcgahn cooperated with the special counsel into russia's meddling with the election. in a tweet mr. trump said he allowed mcgahn to fully

bennett says the actress sexually assaulted him in a southern california hotel in 2017. she was one of the first women to publicly accuse harvey weinstein of sexual misconduct. a father and son barely made out of glacier national park in montana where a major forest fire is burning out of control. >> the car is heating up. it's going to explode. >> that's justin and his 70-year-old father charles driving through an inferno earlier this month. they were backpacking and didn't expect the fire to reach their location, but then the winds shifted. both men hopped back into a car and escaped the flames. at one point driving in reverse down a narrow mountain road. >> we can't get out. >> when i put the car in reverse and looked out the back window i couldn't see anything. i didn't have the headlights anymore. >> firefighters have built a fire break along the scenic going to the sun road to keep flames from spreading further near the park. more than 7,000 acres have burned.

time now approaching 4:37 on this monday morning. we have a lot of students headed back to school today. you saw amy hollyfield in san francisco, just one of the school districts headed back today. in san francisco afternoon highs in the mid 60s. redwood city going back with a high of 77. sonoma valley unified in the north bay, 84 this afternoon. most spots are holding in the 50s to low 60s. a couple exceptions, santa rosa where we have dense fog this morning in the upper 40s. the light jacket grab it as you head out the door this morning. into the afternoon we'll see sunnier skies. time this out for you on future weather. 7:00 this morning you see a lot of cloud cover around the bay shoreline and that cloud cover will be slow to pull back to the coast. still by 10:00 in the morning san francisco and the coastline deal with the cloud cover. into the afternoon most spots will see sunnier skies. we take a look outside, live look, we have that outcast sky over san francisco. here's the next three days. today it's a very comfortable

time approaching 4:42. visibility, issues in the north bay we want to make you aware of. down to zero as bad as it gets on our visibility map this morning. santa rosa has dense fog and patchy fog around petaluma and half moon bay. we're dealing with that this morning. hour by hour on future weather and show you the cloud cover. by 7:00 this morning see widespread low cloud cover, gradual slow clearing to the coast. this afternoon we'll be cooler than we were over the weekend. we'll take a look at the seven-day forecast coming up in about four minutes. guys? >> thanks, drew. developing news this morning in the case of a missing iowa college student who spent part of her childhood in the east bay. mollie tibbett's father has take an break from the search heading back home to fresno. rob tibbett's says it wasn't his choice. law enforcement told family members they should return to their day-to-day lives as the

health and the health of your pets and loved ones. >> reporter: a jury did put a price tag on one man's terminal cancer, awarding a former benicia groundskeeper $289.2 million. dewayne lee johnson sprayed the weed killer in bulk 30 times a year. 2.5 years into the job a diagnosis of non-hodgkin's lymphoma. >> way bigger than me. hopefully this thing will start to get the attention that it needs to get right so folks can make a good choice. >> reporter: monsanto, the makers of roundup, say they will appeal. >> the verdict today, it doesn't change the overwhelming scientific evidence and the 40 years of safe use of glyphosate around the world. >> this wasn't the worst rule, but we wanted to make sure our community knew we were taking these steps. >> reporter: the city is seeking volunteers to help groundskeepers pull weeds.

novato's smart station is a perfect example of this landscaping. volunteers do organic gardening here pulling weeds, putting down mulch and using recycled water. >> if we all do a little bit it adds up. >> reporter: the city of benicia has gone glyphosate-free. katie utehs, abc 7 news. a british woman survived ten hours treading water after falling from a cruise ship. it's not clear how the 46-year-old woman fell overboard yesterday. norwegian cruise lines called the croatian coast guard to search for her. >> i fell off the back of the norwegian star and i was in the water for ten hours. these wonderful guys rescued me. >> your name is? >> kay. i am very lucky to be alive. >> that is incredible. the woman was taken to the hospital. the cruise ship line says she's not hurt and in good spirits, despite that terrifying ordeal.

legend. >> oh. i like that. how tall is mickey? >> not as tall as you. >> just wondering. talk about what's happening in accuweather, fog issues in the north bay. live doppler 7 and satellite showing you the marine layer and shading of gray on your screen that's the low cloud cover this morning. temperature wise we're in the upper 50s to low 60s, the lone exception where we have the fog in santa rosa at this hour. we're in the upper 40s. a bit of a chill in the atmosphere in the north bay on this monday morning. we will have that haze in our atmosphere later on today. you probably saw it over the weekend if you were out and about in the bay area. moderate air quality across the region. we do not have a spare the air day but notice haze in our atmosphere once again. highs today, cooler than over the weekend. you don't see 90s in our inland, east bay valleys. 87 for concord, 86 livermore, about 65 in san francisco. it will take some time for that sun to pop out in the city,

probably around 1:00 or 2:00 this afternoon that's when we will see sunnier skies. 79 the high in napa. the accuweather seven-day forecast, it is a cooler afternoon around the region. tuesday in fact is the coolest day all week. we expect coastal drizzle tomorrow morning and we stay below average, little change through the extended forecast and saturday and sunday morning fog, afternoon sunshine, temperatures slightly below average for this time of the year. see how the roads are doing this morning. >> no complaining for me at least in the weather center there and no complaining traffic wise. we are really quiet so far today. heading out to the central valley, a little heavy, westbound 205, 13 and 22 miles an hour out of tracy, that's to be expected. s san mateo bridge, nice and light, westbound side of 92 no issues leaving hayward into foster city. so far so good this morning. >> twitter's ceo jack dorsey is committed to curbing fake news
