look behind me. looks like they are starting to wrap up. police are on the scene and have taken down the police tape, however this is very unnerving, though, for bart riders as they get here and see police here at their bart station. here's what happened, officers got the call at 2:30 this morning there had been a stabbing here at the warm springs bart station in the parking lot. so they did find the victim. he was out on the street in his car. he was alive. he was taken to the hospital. but this just adds to the fears of bart riders given how much safety has been in the conversation lately on bart. the death of 18-year-old nia wilson last month at the bart station in oakland called into question whether bart is doing enough to keep its riders safe. riders tell us they would like to see more safety measures in place. >> my reaction to this, it's nothing new. it's sad we live in a world like this that it keeps continuing

and continuing. there's nothing being done about it. >> reporter: now there are two crime scenes out here this morning because the man was stabbed in the parking lot, so police have been focused on that area looking for evidence but they found him in his car on warm springs boulevard. they've also been looking out there. a lot of activity here for commuters as they arrive here for their trains. no arrests have been made, no motive in this attack has been given. the station is open and trains are running. live in fremont, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. >> thank you. good to know it's not really affecting the bart commuters, but let's check with alexis on the commute overall this morning. >> yeah. overall we've been looking great today. we haven't had any major blocking issues. just typical slow spots starting to fill in including the bay bridge toll plaza. we're looking at this from our emeryville camera today. all the folks approaching the metering lights, those were on about 5:28 this morning. very typical and average commute.

some of the people we spoke with this morning say this is just an adventure. >> they're going to cancel flights or something like that. >> they're going to get wet whether in the water or coming down on you. >> reporter: help is also on the way from the bay area. firefighters from the menlo park fire protection district, san jose and other departments are among 36 members of a task force that left early yesterday. it took 40,000 pounds of search and rescue equipment with them. it appears flights are still headed to hawaii. i checked flight aware and only a handful of flights into hawaii are canceled or holidadelayed. matt keller, abc 7 news. >> thank you. this morning the search is on for a missing woman on the peninsula. palo alto police are searching for 66-year-old wamaitha miller. they say she's at risk there are been no confirmed sightings since saturday.

she drives a silver 2000 mercedes benz with a license plate number dp 2 hlu. we are hearing from president trump he did a new cable news interview and talking to "fox and friends" and he falsely said his payments to two women claiming to have had affairs to him aren't campaign violations and thinks they aren't because the money came from his personal funds. again, they would be still violations under the law. here's what he had to say about his former personal attorney michael cohen and possible impeachment. >> you know, i guess it's something like high crimes and all -- i don't know how you can impeach somebody who has done a great job. he didn't do big deals, did small deals, not somebody that was with me that much. they make it sound like i didn't live without him. i understood michael cohen very well. >> the president tweeted overnight non, rigged witch hunt.

new at 6:00, a feud between a san jose school board and its superintendent has taken a new turn. the superintendent has been granted a restraining order against a member of the alum rock district board. according to "the mercury news" khan tran berated the superintendent during a meeting and also threatened her. tran says the claims are mischaracterized. bower has been embroiled with a battle with the school board over district finances. the trustees blame her for the trouble but multiple investigations found the board is to blame for those issues. in the east bay two teenage girls are called heros for life-saving actions they took over the weekend. >> the girls saw a house on fire in livermore and ran inside to rescue the people and pets who lived there. before firefighters got to the scene 19-year-old sara callson and 17-year-old gabby smith tried getting everyone out including the three family dogs. >> we saw the flames so i kept

live in fremont for us. amy? >> hi, jessica. police just cleared out of here so that crime scene is gone. those who saw it this morning say it makes them feel nervous. a look at the situation earlier here in fremont. police say they got the call at about 2:30 this morning and then spent the morning in the parking lot on warm springs boulevard looking for evidence. they got the call there had been a stabbing at the warm springs fremont bart station. the victim was taken to the hospital. this comes a month after the stabbing death of 18-year-old nia wilson at the macarthur bart station which called into question the safety of stations. police say this crime scene was upsetting to them. >> it's an unfortunate occurrence and unfortunately it seems like it happens more and i do -- i've see it conce when you come early.

for the death penalty or life in prison without parole. cowell did not enter a plea yesterday breaking news from the abc 7 live desk. and that breaking news, isis, the islamic state group, claiming responsibility this morning for a deadly knife attack in a suburb of paris. french officials say a man stabbed two women to death this morning. the victims are identified as the attacker's mother and his sister. a third woman was also injured in this attack. police say she was just a passerby. the suspected stabber was killed by police. he is reported to be a 36-year-old taxi driver this morning investigators say mollie tibbetts and her accused killer lived in the same iowa town, but it's unclear whether they knew each other. hundreds gathered for a memorial at the university of iowa where mollie was a student. police say cristhian rivera killg rndodflong mole outorun ins bl i million.

e friend says she is y had found mollie and iitht ll. just remember looking in the mirror, kind of just processing the whole thing, thinking this can't be real, this can't be real. >> mollie tibbetts' family issued a statement thanking the public for their love and saying their hearts are broken. happening today, the suspect in the golden state killer case is due back in sacramento superior court. 72-year-old joseph deangelo is scheduled to be arraigned on 13 new charges in the now consolidated case. on tuesday prosecutors filed new allegations tied to sexual assault cases in sacramento and contra costa counties. those charges are now combined with 13 murder charges already filed in santa barbara, orange, ventura, and sacramento counties. orange county's d.a. says more charges could come. deangelo will be prosecuted in sacramento county but officials say it could take years.

in the south bay, growing concern about public safety after yet another burglary in san jose's willow glen neighborhood. a town hall meeting set for next thursday will likely address what happened yesterday. police arrested a man and woman accused of burglarizing a home on california avenue. someone was home and saw the burglars who ran and got into a vehicle and drove away. police say the man and woman crashed into another car at an intersection. they tried to run from officers jumping fences in the neighborhood when san jose police told nearby neighbors to go on lockdown. kelly dudley says she was at home with her young boys during the manhunt. >> why are you locking all the doors, shutting all the windows. i made up a story about helicopters and just tried to like kind of mitigate what could be going on. >> police eventually caught the suspected burglars. it's not clear why willow glen is being targeted in this wave of recent auto thefts, home invasions and burglaries also in the south bay santa clara county and san jose will

get almost $2.5 million to repair flood damage that includes damage done by the massive coyote creek flooding in february 2017. three san jose neighborhoods were submerged in water for almost a week. 11,000 people were evacuated. officials say the money comes from an emergency federal grant. the county will get $1.1 million and the rest will go to san jose you are never more than seven minutes away from my accuweather forecast. watching lane and now i'm watching the wind field. it's been raining more than 18 hours straight on the big island and the tropical storm force winds at 39 miles per hour and faster are about 35 miles from the coast. wind damage is going to become a greater threat through the morning hours with the fastest winds, the major category 3 winds in red there that are going to remain well offshore. we could get winds up to around 74 miles per hour through honolulu within the next 36 hours. the warnings there. it's possible in the next 48 hours for that extend through the rest of the island chain.

it is going to flood on the big island, flood warning right now, the dark green, the light green is for the potential of 20 to 30 inches of rain causing more flooding elsewhere. doesn't sound good, does it if back at home just kind of cloudy in the south bay. 59 in los altos, most of us in the low to mid 60s, until brentwood and fairfield, upper 50s there. let's talk about the commute this morning. as we look at the san mateo bridge, it's cloudy out there. haven't found much in the way of fog and a little mist at the coast we'll put caution for the driving for that area. gray to blue, we'll see sunshine if you're on the bay today. taking a ferry, mass transit, the heat stays away. that's good news for a lot of folks. let's talke you're watching thi morning. >> yeah. you've been saying it's fog august all morning. not seeing dense fog advisories but a little bit on a few of our traffic cameras nothing to slow you down or cause visibility issues this morning. moving in on one of our crashes,

a woman says this man on your screen was posing as a ride share driver picked her up the evening of tuesday, august 14th. he took her to a secluded area and then sexually assaulted her. authorities want dash cam, helmet cam or cell phone video taken along highway 92 between highway 101 and half moon bay and listen closely, they want it between 5:45 and 7:00 p.m. a week ago tuesday. in the south bay, new details on a reported kidnapping and robbery of a san jose state student. investigators say the victim told them he was taken at gunpoint from a 7-eleven on sixth and san salvador streets yesterday afternoon. he says he was forced to withdraw money from several atms. the victim was released and not hurt. a search is now on for at least one suspect. the school also sent out an e-mail alerting students about the incident. now to your morning money report. we've been telling you about the san francisco store where there are no cash registers. we checked out the store without

california dmv field offices. the director jean shiomoto says relief is on the way. she visited with staff at the license center in san jose yesterday. it was part of her ongoing effort to evaluate field offices and centers across the state. last week shiomoto was grilled by lawmakers who questioned why the agency's wait times have skyrocketed over the past year. she claims the delays on the high volume of customers who want the new real i.d. she also acknowledged problems with the department's decade's old computer system. shiomoto hopes to modernize it in the next four years we're looking to see if we can offer more transactions on-line so you don't have to come to our field office. how long that would take, if there are policy concerns on that. >> the dmv says wait times should start dropping by mid-september and hopefully become more reasonable by the end of the year. and at this hour some very new developments in an attempt by hackers to break into the democratic national te database.
