"gma" co [ applause ] a lot of smiles in our audience this morning. welcome back to "gma." it is time for our series "fall fashion finds" and this morning we are helping three lovely women who say they struggle to shop for their curvy figures. we're going to see their new style in just a moment but first take a look at their stories. >> shopping is very frustrating for me. yeah. it's frustrating in the store and it's frustrating online as well. a lot of designers don't think that if you're plus size you should be able to show more skin or feel sexy and that there's this need or desire that everyone wants to be covered up. >> the challenges i face while shopping, they don't carry my size in the stores.
8:31 am
i usually have to buy stuff online which is frustrating. we like to look nice too and look pretty and have flirty, sexy clothes and i think everyone should have the chance to buy the nicer clothes that are in the smaller sizes. >> my struggle with fashion centers around my curvy figure and a lot of times i find that things may fit my hips but they don't fit my waist, they're too big for my waist. my closet is a sea of black. i want to make sure i incorporate color. we're all in the stores having the same conversation about what's on the rack and what we can't find.>> love their smiles. i'm here with adam glassman, the creative director of "o" magazine who helped our three ladies to revamp their fall fashion. you say there is a much needed shift going on in the industry in the way that plus size clothes are represented. >> oh, absolutely. the shift is here and it's here to stay. a movement actually because the consumers have spoken up, mostly because of social media.
8:32 am
there's so much plus-sized bloggers out there. people are really speaking up. fashion designers are listening to them. retailers are listening to them. >> so good. >> and it's really here to stay. it's not just a trend. this is permanent this time. >> here to stay. so is everyone ready to see our lovely ladies? [ applause ] i'll tell you, paula -- >> tatyana, you look lovely. >> really, and this skirt is only $49. it's from nordstrom from their own line called bp and nordstrom is one of these retailers that has a terrific selection of blues-size clothing.

>> you look great. we have to move on to freia. you like a more flirty look and fun in your wardrobe but have a hard time finding these pieces. how do you feel in this? >> i feel great in this because most of the time when i go to the store it's like one kind of box-size something plain, either black or a darker color, and i love to add more color in my wardrobe so i love this. >> adam, this piece is hot off the runway. how do you get pieces hot off the runway for a fuller and curvy figure? >> never happened before but now there's a fabulous new website. called 11 on array. they offer high-end fashion for women up to size 22. never before you could buy mark jacobs, and this is a tailored dress that starts at size zero and goes up to size 22 now. a faux wrap dress that looks totally sexy and appropriate for freia. >> she's fun and she is flirty. finally, theresa, you had trouble finding clothes that fit your curves. i know you want to show off your curves. they are beautiful.
8:35 am
>> thank you. [ applause ] >> how tough is it finding clothes that fit you in the right spots? >> always hard. something to fit your hips and comfortably up top but you still have a waist so i want to be able to show off my waist. [ applause ] >> you look beautiful and, adam, how do you find clothes as she described that fit you and hit you in all the right spots? >> it's not easy but you have to do a little bit of work. you have to do a little work but look for a piece of clothing that has multiple ways to wear it. they're a high-waisted pant, a denim fabric, not a typical jean. this is a trouser that you could dress up and d she could wear it on the weekends with sneakers and a t-shirt. and eloquii is a great resource. they offer high fashion at really good prices, great quality. back here on "gma," gabe, evan and nate are going to help me out because we're going to do a little science again checking in on that hawaiian hurricane, hurricane lane, which has weakened a little. why would it go west or east? well, it's that big blue "h" east of the hawaiian islands that's either going to pull it with its clockwise rotation more toward the islands or push it farther away from them so depending on the track, spaghetti computer models on there right now, it's going to have a big implication on the impacts of the storm. all right, did you learn something? wasn't that fun? all right, let's go ahead an it's your birthday on monday.

you're looking at a label or energy bar, what are you looking for? >> okay, four things basically. fiber, protein, calories and sugar. but let's stick with the first three. so, for calories between 150 and 200. fiber, three grams of fiber and protein, three to six grams of protein per bar, okay. the sugars make a difference but we'll talk about that later. i want to see if you can actually pronounce some of these names that we have up here. >> throw that test at me. >> can you do it? >> anhydrous dextrose disaccharide maltodextrin. >> yeah, yeah. >> yeah, baby. >> okay, not bad, nod bat. i can say them, i don't know what they mean. >> i was going to say, what do they mean? >> i have no idea. >> these are all added sugars. we try to avoid them. not just added sugars but things like soy protein isolate and chickry root to get your fiber. companies do this.
