agencies in jacksonville and not far from here in baltimore are working to learn more about the shooter who opened fire on unsuspecting gamers. police believe this man is 24-year-old david katz, the shooter who opened fire on gamers at the video game tournament madden nfl '19 in jacksonville, florida. police say he stayed locally and was in town for the game. he had won a madden tournament in the past. overnight atf agents raided the baltimore town house owned by katz's father. police trying to trace the weapon used in the shooting. some of it captured during a live stream of the game. watch these two players closely. just moments before the shooting begins, you see a red dot on one of the gamer's chests. then chaos breaks out. the shooting starts. the video stream stops, but you can still hear gunshots and ou shooting with?

the u.s. capitol. among the eulogists expected at services this week, george w. bush. his spokesman confirming to abc the former president is honored to have been asked to speak. "the new york times" is reporting that president obama will also be there and joe biden. an aide saying the former vice president was asked to make remarks at a service in phoenix. senator john mccain will be laid to rest at a private ceremony on sunday at the u.s. naval academy in annapolis. maggie and ken internet, he'll be laid to rest next to a lifelong friend, a former classmate from the naval academy. >> our thanks to arlette there. arizona's governor says he will not appoint a replacement for mccain until after his funeral. under state law he must elect another republican to fill the seat until a special election is held in two years. "the washington post" reports that aides at the white house wanted to release a condolence statement that called john mccain a hero. but sources say president trump rejected such a statement and opted instead for a tweet that included no praise of mccain.

despite the death of mccain and sunday's shooting in jacksonville, the president was back on twitter last night boasting about his popularity. tweeting over 90% approval rating for your all-time favorite president within the republican party and 52% overall. but the president misquoted the poll, which found his overall approval rating at 44%. hurricane lane has dumped more than 50 inches of rain on hawaii's big island. that's the third highest rainfall amount of any storm in the u.s. since the 1950s. dozens of people had to be rescued and residents are on alert for more flooding and possible landslides. time now for a look at your forecast for this monday morning. good morning. as we continue to track lane expected to stay a tropical storm for this morning but downgraded to a tropical depression as early as tuesday morning as it continues to pull away from the immediate area but on the west side of the islands, moisture will continue to linger

scary scene from a high school football game in little rock, arkansas. many people in the crowd of 38,000 thought that shots were being fired. you see them there running for the exits. turns out it was a fight and the sound of barricades falling. the taser being fired may have also added to the chaos. no serious injuries were reported. hours after apologizing in ireland for how the church has handled sex abuse crimes, pope francis is under new pressure this morning facing a bombshell accusation. a former vatican ambassador and outspoken critic of the pope claims pope francis knew in 2013 about sexual misconduct allegations against former washington archbishop theodore mccarrick and helped cover them up. he's calling for the pope to resign. the pope dismissed the accusation saying, quote, i won't say a word about it. meanwhile, back in ireland many catholics said they are not willing to accept the pope's apology. >> he's been confronted about this issue at every turn. do you think he gets it? >> i think he knows a great deal more than is in the public

domain and i think that many things, many secrets are going to be revealed over the next years. >> the alleged mccarrick cover-up is the first time the pope has been directly implicated in a sex abuse allegation. in business news, uber is shifting its focus from cars to electric bikes and scooters for shorter trips. the company's ceo says they're looking to build an urban motility platform and bikes and scooters are better suited for inner city travel. he acknowledges that uber and its drivers will take a short-term financial hit but he promises it will pay off in the long run. well, residents in northern florida will be holding the mayo for at least a few days. their town's official name is mayo, but for a few days, it will be known as miracle whip, florida. even the name on the water tank is being changed. they've agreed to take part in a marketing stunt. people from kraft heinz will be filmed as they ask residents to get rid of their mayonnaise and substitute miracle whip. >> what a genius marketing 'mll in.

>> a fund-raising campaign brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars for a homeless veteran who helped a woman in need. but now there are big questions about how the money is being handled. he's the man whose act of kindness was not only seen by the world, it was returned tenfold. >> it's a humbling feeling. the whole experience is. it's amazing. >> reporter: johnny bobbitt jr.'s story went viral last year. the homeless veteran panhandling on the streets of philadelphia who gave his last dime to stranded motorist kate mcclure after she ran out of gas. the two speaking to "good morning america" in november. >> and my boyfriend went back the next day. >> what did you do? >> he gave him $100. >> reporter: mcclure and her boyfriend started a go fund me account they said was to benefit bobbitt. it reached over $400,000. >> that changes my life right there. >> $1764. >> that changes my life. >> reporter: but nearly a year later "the philadelphia inquirer" reports bobbitt is back on the streets and now fearing the couple that started

the go fund me account may have squandered much of the donated money. >> money that was spent on gambling, money that was spent on a new car, money that was io. >> reporter: "the inquirer" reporting mcclure and her boyfriend deny mismanaging the money or spending it for personal gain. according to the newspaper, the couple says they've used much of the donations on bobbitt and gave him part of the cash but they're withholding the remaining 200,000 over concerns. >> they've been surprised at how difficult the drug addiction can be. receiving $400,000 was not necessarily the fix. >> reporter: the "philadelphia inquirer" reports bobbitt admits to struggling with drugs. >> johnny is looking forward to a new chapter in his life. although he continues to struggle with drug use, it's not the life that he wants. >> today bobbitt's lawyers and the couple who set up the go fund me page will meet with a mediator. go fund me says it's looking into claims of misuse and is working to ensure bobbitt receives the help he deserves.

hundreds of people turned out to remember murdered college student mollie tibbetts at her funeral sunday in iowa. tibbetts' brothers and cousins served as pallbearers. her body was found last week after nearly five weeks of searching. during a eulogy mollie's father said his daughter was good and sweet with humility. he told the devastated community it's time to turn the page after their long ordeal and he said mollie is nobody's victim. >> it was a mood of complete support for everyone in the community, the family, the school faculty, just countywide. for me it was a small town iowa come together, small town iowa strong. >> reporter: mollie's brother scott led his high school football team to a season opening victory on friday. the team is dedicating its season to mollie. the suspect is due back in court friday. the man who is being called broadway's master of comedy has died.
