rest of us around 70 with brighter conditions at noon, back in the 60s by 7:00. alexis? >> good morning, mike. we don't have any major incidents so far so a quiet start once again today. this is a live look at walnut creek, southbound 680 not going to have any delays if you are heading out in that direction and continuing south towards san jose that looks great as does the 24 if you're connecting and heading a little closer to the bay bridge. a lot of bridge drive times light so far today. southbound 101 across golden gate, six minutes, eight minute across the bay bridge and no metering lights yet. westbound 92, san mateo bridge in the green at 13 minutes. now breaking news from the abc 7 live desk. >> we are following brand neaki news at the live desk from florida, two workers are dead after scaffolding they were on collapsed. it happened at a hotel under construction just outside disney world in lake buena vista. workers were preparing to pour concrete when the platform they

were on gave way. two workers fell six stories to the ground. they died on the scene. a third worker was able to hold on and climbed to safety and that person suffered minor injuries. a federal investigation is now on the way. no more cash bail, california the first state to allow people out of jail without having to pay. it goes into effect next october and meant to make the system more equitable and putting an entire industry out of business. here's abc 7 news reporter kate larson. >> reporter: california is closing doors on money bail. under the new law decisions about whether a suspect is released pretrial will be based on risk assessment rather than if the defendant can come up with the right amount of cash. the assemblyman co-authored the bill. their risk to the public and flight and that's the right and better thing to do. >> five kidnap for robbery and

flee robberies with the use of firearm. >> did you do it? >> nope. >> reporter: we met him at a bail bonds business in san francisco after six months in custody he was released from jail on $700,000 bail. he is now awaiting trial. his co-defendants are still locked up. >> i feel bad like they don't have money even to pay bail. i'm lucky. >> reporter: the very business that let him put up $50,000 cash bond will likely be forced to close for good. >> we are very disappointed. >> reporter: gloria mitchell president of the california bail agency association and spoke to us. she says more than half of california's 3,000 licensed bail agents are women and minorities. >> i am a second generation. my mother was first. and my daughter is a third generation. yeah, this is very concerning because we will be without any livelihoods. >> reporter: the law will take effect in october of 2019. a number of other to reri tir cash bai systems

tentio>> katlarson, abc 7 news. safe injection site for drug users would look like in san francisco. mayor london breed will be at the tenderloin for the launch of a full-scale prototype at glide memorial church. the model of a safe injection site is similar to the one you see in canada. on monday state lawmakers passed a bill for a pilot program which would allow people to use heroin and other drugs under medical supervision. if governor jerry brown approves it san francisco would become the first city to offer a safe injection site. senator john mccain will lie in state at the arizona state capitol, the first of two days of services for mccain in his home state and a private ceremony will be held at the capitol rotunda. father reese, the president of saint ignatius college preparatory in san francisco, will perform the invocation. this afternoon the capitol

rotunda will be open to members of the public who want to pay their respects and friday another viewing will be held at d.c., followed by a final memorial service at the national cathedral saturday. arizona's governor will select mccain after the senator is laid to rest. the replacement has to be of the same political party, so that seat will remain republican. meanwhile, arizona's other senator, jeff flake, plans to retire and the results are in following the state's primary election. congresswoman martha mcsally won the gop race for the u.s. senate seat and began her speech with a moment of silence for mccain. she will face kirsten cinema in november. an upset in florida. tallahassee mayor andrew gill m secured the democratic nomination in the gubernatorial race. the candidate has vermont senator bernie sanders' support. he edged out gwen graham.

he faces republican congressman ron desantis. if elected he would become florida's first african-american governor. lafayette residents upset after a bill that could alter the suburban landscape around bart stations and give bart the authority to override local zoning laws to build housing. parcels of land owned by bart within a half mile radius of stations could be developed for housing and local jurisdictions that would have to conform to the new bart zoning standards and bart has committed to build out its plots by the year 2040. assemblyman grayson out of concord coauthored the bill which would speed up the process. >> i think it's past time for our cities to come to the table with real solutions for housing, rather than continuing to have road blocks and trying to kill affordable housing development. >> the idea you give bart control over what could be big swaths of downtown areas in some
