unite. he was hit in a face by a man harassing two female passenger. >> while he was in the process of looking for the suspect harassing him, the suspect blind sided him and hit him causing damage. >> at this point bart is unable to provide any video or image of him. the station agent meanwhile is recovering from cuts to his face and according to the union the night ms. wilson was stabbed in a random attack at the same station. for bart riders, this latest incident is compounding anxiety about the safety in general. concerns are ongoing about open drug use and theft. >> things aren't safe now and people feel that, you know? that's clear. >> i feel like this is really like getting out of control.

thieves hit the apple store in emeryville. a trio hit the apple store in santa rosa. that same method where thieves ran into the store, grabbed what they can from the tables and dashed out. >> earthquakes after 7:00 tonight. it happened about five and a half miles from alpedas. there are concerns about how it can stand up to an earthquake. back in 2001, the state ordered the water level reduced by 60% as a precaution. it is being replaced a n dam sus year. >> a bicyclist clyded with a train. the man was trapped underneath and had to be rescued. we do know he was taken to the hospital but do not know the extent of his injuries. we do not know what caused the

crash, but it has the technology to figure out what happened. >> usually have closed circuit televisions on the platforms, on the trains. so we'll be able to see in detail what occurred today. >> service was briefly halted because of the collision. this is another reminder people need to pay attention to the crossing arms and signals when a train is in the area. >> a moving tribute tonight for a bay area music teacher killed during a fishing trip. kate lreports on the community raising money for the family. >> he brought us together with the common interest of loving music. >> he was swept out to sea on a fishing trip in may. the 34-year-old music teacher taught young musicians the chinese flute.

teacher. not to replace him, but to keep his music alive. in santa clara, kate larson, abc 7 news. >> he was so loved. in other news tonight, chp rescued a woman who fell 40 feet into a creek. video shows her being air lifted out. crews couldn't reach her quickly on the ground, so they called in a chopper. the woman was taken to the hospital where she is being treated for moderate injuries. >> the nfl season begins in four days. raiders fans may be a little melancholy this weekend after the team traded away its player. jon gruden explained that decision today. are we going to buy it? >> i will simply say you can believe him or not. the decision came down to money. mack wanted more than the raiders were willing to pay and

history has gone up in flames tonight as a fire destroys the national museum of brazil. the building has been around for 200 years and is home to more than 20 million artifacts. it housed equip chan mum mys,

dinosaur fossils and the oldest human fossil in the region. the museum was closed at the time the fire started. the mayor is vowing to rebuild, including the impressive collections inside. >> a terrifying trip home for a girl. >> she is attacked and robbed a block away from school. >> it's been so exciting to see people be excited to go and ride their bike to school and be in charge and like have all the confidence. >> always been home schooled. last week was her first week in willard miller school. she drove home at 5:10 friday but she sensed a car following her and a man jumped out and stole her backpack from the basket of the bike and pushed her down. >> i can't really get the image

live doppler 7 as we zoom in close tore the heart of the reeng, you can see that gray shading on your screen. little finger of fog over into the east bay from san francisco. there's some patchy fog in this hour, but a marine layer will not be spread. showing you there is a hole in the fog this evening. we're not going to see a widespread great start tomorrow. a lot of sunshine for most of us for monday. however, the air quality is declining. part of the problem we have a lot of smoke high up in our at moss fire still coming from fires. so they are slowly drifting fine particles into our atmosphere here. that's creating poor air quality in the santa clara valley tomorrow. take note of that. you will notice haze once again. if you have respiratory issues, take it easy outdoors for the

thanks for joining us. >> in tonight's headlines, a bart station agent was punched at the station friday night in what the union is calling an unprovoked attack. it says the agent was looking for a man who was harassing two female riders when he got punched in the face. a suspect took off on foot. the agents union tells us there have been 38 assaults on station agents this year. >> sheriffs deputies shot a man outside the racetrack yesterday right before an ice cube concerts. he wanted to get a ticket and was told there was none available. there was an argument and the man pulled out a gun and began shooting. that's when deputies took action. >> senator john mccain was buried in a private ceremony today. the navy released the photos you are looking at here. mccain was laid to rest next to one of his closest friends, admiral chuck larson. the two graduated together in 195. >> emotional words from a

re one man is dead. a tropical storm tonight is concerning residents there. the storm appears to be heading towards new orleans. let's get a look now. >> yeah. what we're tracking is potential tropical cyclone seven. all that is a fancy name for a storm that will become a tropical storm in the next 48 hours. you can see it just to the south and east of miami on the loop the past three hours. basically, it is a customer of thunderstorms that will get its act together once it arrives in the gulf of mexico late tomorrow night. here is the forecasted path. when this system becomes a tropical storm it will get the name gordon. gordon will likely by tuesday morning strengthen to winds of 45 miles an hour. as it approach it is louisiana border, it will likely be a tropical storm with 60 miles an hour winds. it's not the winds we're worried about. it is also the rain. a tropical storm watch is now in

effect for new orleans. alabama was we see rain fall at least through friday will be measured in inches. some areas could see more than five inches of rain with this system. you can track this storm as it develops over the next couple of days, guys. >> thank you. four people are missing tonight after two boats clyded on the colorado river in california near the arizona border. crews have been searching since the crash happened at 8:00 last night. ten people were hurt. two others came away unhurt. the spot where the collision happened is between two popular marinas and the river is busy because of the holiday weekend. investigators say everyone from both boats was thrown into the water and both boats then sank. >> one was wearing life jackets. it is not mandated they do so, but we encourage boats to do that because of situations like this. >> investigators say it is too early to say what caused these

a small child shows big fight at the hospital surviving more than five months in intensive care. >> the day he left, the family and his staff celebrated his challenge gra graduation to the next step in his life. >> if you think that's a baby in a graduation cap and gown, it is. he is famous in a facebook way for what he has accomplished so far, which is being here. because last winter, his mom was getting signs that this pregnancy was in trouble. >> we were in our local hospital for about three weeks and with bleeding and contractions and things just weren't getting any hospital. >> molly and her husband who have a six year old knew many hospitals won't risk intervening. >> our local hospital told us he had a 2% chance to live. >> but then they found a hospital willing to take the risks. >> i'm 22 weeks and two days.
