team's training facility to explain why this could mean an early exit for the raiders. amy? >> hi, reggie. what a way to start the season. the team's home opener is scheduled for monday night but looks like the city where they play may be filing a lawsuit against them before they take the field. that could mean it's the last home opener here. according to the "san francisco chronicle," the city of oakland is planning to file a multimillion-dollar anti-trust lawsuit against the nfl and the oakland raiders because of the team's plan to leave for las vegas. in response, a coliseum official tells "the chronicle" if the city does file the lawsuit the team will likely go to vegas a year early. the mayor's office told "the chronicle" the mayor has no comment. councilman galo quoted as saying the lawsuit is expected to be filed and announced within the next few days and says it could result in damages of $500

million for the city. reporting live in alameda, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. >> thank you. a landmark ruling affecting the homeless population, cities cannot prosecute people for sleeping on the streets if they have nowhere else t go.o yesterday a federal appeals court sided with six homeless people in boise, idaho, who sued over a local ordinance that public places.om sleeping in the court says punishing the homeless for sleeping on the streets is a cruel and unusual punishment which is unconstitutional. in the east bay, police are investigating a series of attempted sexual assaults at a state park in alameda and the latest incident happened at crown state beach yesterday. another woman says the same thing happened to her on saturday. the alameda police department says an attempted sexual assault was reported on august 6th near the park. police believe all three incidents may be connected to one man. also in the east bay, berkeley police are looking for the man that you see on the left here, mark jacobson.

investigators believe he stabbed a woman in her 70s. the video from the scene is on the right side. it happened on e street. police say he is clean shaven and known to visit live oak park and the solano avenue corridor. if you see him call 911. this is the moment everything changed. first former 49er colin kaepernick sat during the national anthem and cameras caught him kneeling during a preseason game. that was two years ago. this is now. nike's new ad now on display in san francisco's union square. abc 7 news reporter kate larson talked with a man who encouraged kaepernick to take a knee in the first place setting off the controversy. >> reporter: drone view 7 above union square where colin kaepernick's ad is perched on the nike store. the controversy over him started in 2016 when as a 49er he kneeled during the national anthem to protest social

injustice. east bay native nate boyer was part of that decision reaching a compromise with kaepernick when they agreed to meet before a game. >> i wanted him to stand, he wanted to sit, we agreed on kneeling. >> reporter: boyer, who spoke to us over the phone from los angeles, is a former nfl player and army special forces veteran. he says kneeling still felt respectful. >> we take a knee to pray and propose to our wives and when people get knighted they take a knee. >> reporter: for the message on the new ad, believe in something even if it means sacrificing everything, boyer says it's controversial for those who may have sacrificed more than a football career. >> the ultimate sacrifice we talk about often people that have lost their lives, you know, fighting for the very things that the flag and anthem are supposed to represent. >> reporter: for nike their stock took a hit dropping 3% on tuesday, but other nike athletes like lebron james and serena williams disagreed with the market. williams tweeted, especially proud to be part of the nike family today. just do it.

degrees and then 70s starting at noon. all wa all the way through 6:00. down to 63 degrees. 90s coming back to the forecast coming up. first want to get alexis in here and update on the commute. >> good morning, mike. our biggest issue so far today is in the north bay. napa county we've got full closure of the southbound side of state route 29 between wine country avenue and trower avenue due to downed at&t wires. they were able to open one lane on the northbound side but a sig alert and sounds like crews on the scene unable to give an estimate for when the lanes could reopen. not much of a delay now. you will be forced to use other surface streets. we will keep an eye on that throughout the morning, though. the south bay, so far so good for you. live look at 280 and 17, the volumes increasing but no significant delays. >> thank you. in the north bay, pg&e is preparing for the next wildfire. the napa valley register reports the utility company installed

eight weather stations in napa county. it measures wind, speed, wind direction, temperature and humidity to help pg&e assess extreme fire danger. pg&e will shut down electricity to high fire danger areas. san francisco's mayor urging governor brown to sign off on a controversial plan for needle injection sites in the city. mayor london breed joined assembly member chu and senator scott yesterday, asking brown to sign a bill to allow indoor sites to give drug users a place to safely inject. the three-year pilot program is being promoted as a potential solution to the epidemic of used needles routinely scattered on city streets. >> what we're doing right now isn't working. i know it makes people uncomfortable, it makes me uncomfortable, but i feel like here in san francisco, we have to be willing to try new things. >> opponents are worried it could cause an increase in crime and social disorder. governor brown has until the end

goop said that jade egg and rose quartz egg could balance hormones. the eggs sold on-line and start at $55. customers who bought them between january and august can contact goop for refunds. >> they are still sold on the website but without the medical claims and one of them is set to promote positive energy. happening today, the homeless veteran fighting a couple over a gofundme account will head to court. john bobbitt used his last $20 to help a driver stranded without gas in philadelphia. in return, the driver and her boyfriend started a gofundme account that raised more than $400,000 in donations. now bobbitt says the couple has actually spent much of the money and he's back living on the street. after thinking it over, he decided to sue. >> i didn't want to be pressuring to get a lawyer or do anything because i didn't want to appear ungrateful. >> last week a judge sided with

bobbitt and ordered all the money be returned. his attorney says it hasn't been transferred. the couple's attorney said they held on to half of the money on fear he would spend it on drugs. he struggled with addiction in the past. gofundme said it will guarantee the funds raised for him. and new developments, silicon valley blood testing company tied to fraud scandal is shutting down. >> it will formally dissolve and pay unsecured creditors. shareholders received a notice about the closure. it promised to make blood tests easier and cheaper. investors poured millions into the company. ceo elizabeth holmes and her colleague face federal fraud charges. prosecutors say the pair knowingly lied about the accuracy and reliability of their products. in today's "gma" first look, two cold cases in florida are getting national attention, in part because of filmmaker tyler perry. lindsey davis has the details.

90s friday inland, low 80s around the bay and 64 at the coast. morning clouds and sunshine, cooler after that. here's alexis. >> good morning, mike. we have one new issue to talk about in the south bay. this is on the north bay 101 off ramp to lawrence expressway. blocking the left lane. not the main line, just the ramp. a solo vehicle collision facing the wrong way. not seeing delays for that situation. just south of there, 280 at highway 17, several miles south of there, that is filling in but that is looking okay so far today. also, mass transit has been off to a quiet start. 44 bart trains in service with no delays. ace one out on time and just keep in mind they are having the gps tracker issues with ace three but we're not hearing about any delays for the train either. normal service, no delays for capital corridor. >> nissan recalling more than 153,000 cars in the u.s. and canada, bad ignition switches that could wear out even while the car is moving.

are stable here at stanford. they were able to survive this plane crash. the pilot did not. here is his last communication with air traffic control. >> mike, i'm going to have to abort this and go around. >> mike roger make left close traffic did you need assistance? >> negative. i just came in too fast. >> reporter: yeah. not long after that conversation, the pilot went down into the bay about 300 feet from the end of the runway just after 11:00 tuesday morning. he was on a mission for angel flight west, a volunteer pilot driven organization that ferries injured or sick kids and adults to hospitals for treatment. the mother and daughter identified by palo alto on-line as 49-year-old nancy delamaria and 16-year-old chloe king both from redding. they were rescued from the wreckage on the way to stanford children's hospital. the plane was registered out of placerville to a pilot recognized for his volunteer work with the organization. he has yet to be identified. angel flight west posted a

statement to facebook which read in part the directors, staff, volunteer pilots and mission coordinators of angel flight west are deeply saddened that this accident occurred and their thoughts and prayers are with those on board the aircraft and their loved ones. live in stanford, matt keller, abc 7 news. >> thank you, matt. now a man who survived a different plane crash that killed his husband and the pilot is expected to head home from the hospital today. this is video. it happened near truckee in july. the plane was on its way to pyramid lake when it experienced a problem with its engine. the only survivor eric raptosh. this is a look at his gofundme. he was seriously injured. after spending the last few months in rehab he is expected to go home today. loved ones started a gofundme as he continues to recover. two silicon valley's companies will be on capitol hill today in just about one hour at 6:30, twitter's ceo jack dorsey and facebook's sheryl sandberg will testify before the

police tell us it appears to be a nissan altima. developing news along the gulf coast, gordon has weakened from a tropical storm into a tropical depression. > this made landfall near pascagoula, mississippi, last night, and now moving northwest across the state. abc news reporter maggie rule live in biloxi with the storm's impact. maggie? >> reggie and jessica, good morning. it's much quieter now here in biloxi, mississippi. a different scene last night. this storm came in fast and hit the gulf coast hard. right now things like i said are starting to clear up. in biloxi there was a mandatory curfew, they closed the casinos down along the coast but for now it seems like this is the worst the storm is over here along the gulf. overnight a powerful tropical storm gordon slammed into the

gulf. >> 70 miles per hour. heavy rains and the potential for life-threatening storm surges. the space station capturing gordon as it gained strength before making landfall near the mississippi/alabama border near pascagoula. ginger zee was there. >> this is when the rain and winds start to prickle your skin. it's that hard. the gusts have started intensifying and conditions have rapidly declined. >> reporter: the lopsided storm soaking everything east of center from biloxi, mississippi, to pensacola, florida. this man's windshield wipers no match for the blinding rain in theodore, alabama. on nearby dauphin island. >> winds over 70. >> reporter: accuweather battles fierce storm surge and coastal flooding. in pensacola gordon turned deadly. authorities say a child was killed after a tree fell on his home during the storm. states of emergency remain in effect across louisiana, mississippi, and alabama.

all right. wow. yesterday was a turning point in the traffic, wasn't it? >> oh, yeah. it was a nice sre minutes to an hour and a half. >> i believe it, yeah. everybody is back, yeah. >> taking a look at the roads we are looking at just a handful of incidents. we don't have any major issues aside from a sig alert on state route 29 in napa county but a minor problem northbound 101 off ramp to lawrence expressway, a solo vehicle crash. sounds like we have injuries and that vehicle ended up facing the wrong way blocking lane one of that off ramp. it's not blocking the main line. not seeing any delays but i am keeping an eye on that. we are seeing delays at the bay bridge toll plaza. metering lights on pretty early today, 5:21 unless, of course, you are using those carpool lanes then you will have a faster commute through the toll plaza. southbound 101 santa rosa to petaluma, 13 minutes, westbound 580, castro valley to the maze at 14 and slight delays,

sarah sanders at 7:00 a.m. on "gma." talk about a scary ride, a southern california couple faces felony charges after deputies say they carjacked an uber driver. authorities say the couple ordered the ride back to their hotel in san francisco after they were drinking in sausalito. after the carjacking officers found the car ditched in front of the w hotel. that's where the couple was staying. the couple faces carjacking and robbery charges. they have bailed out of jail and they left the hotel. police are on high alert after thieves hit six bay area apple stores. this is surveillance video from the crimes in corte madeira, walnut creek and stores in san francisco are hiring uniformed police officers to keep watch. the president of the san francisco police officers association says it is no coincidence stores in the marina and union

here's a look at what's going on sfo this morning, cloudy, temperature of about 58 degrees. we're going to have delays as soon as they're announced i'll let you know. hazy sunshine this afternoon and a minor cooling trend especially away from the east bay and the south bay. warmest highs we have a little warming trend for thursday, friday and saturday and we'll be back to average starting sunday if not bow average next week. all right. here's a look at the cloud cover. it's going to continue marching east until 9:00. by noon, there's still plenty of cloud cover along the east bay shore and at the coast. now the east bay shore will clear out in the next couple hours after that but the coast never does clear out today. let's take a look at our temperatures. we'll start with the coolest down in the south bay. that's been milpitas, about every day 78. cupertino 80. we have near 90s in morgan hill and gilroy. lid 70s for the peninsula. millbrae 69. 61 to 62 along the peninsula coast, 65 in san francisco.
