and sexual assault allegations. >> the announcement came hours after six more women came forward. some of them say moonves forced them to perform sexual acts and retaliated when they rejected his advances but he could still walk away with a massive severance package. eva pilgrim with the details. >> reporter: the head of cbs is out amid new accusations of sexual assault and harassment. les moonves and cbs announcing they will donate $20 million to organizations that support the "me too" movement. six more women coming forward speaking as part of a just published "new yorker" article. some claiming moonves forced them to perform oral sex on them and exposed himself to them without their consent and that he used physical violence and intimidation against them. phyllis golden gottlieb told the magazine moonves sexual assaulted her in 1986. he reaches over and pulls me up and throws me, i mean hard, against the wall. she says she kept quiet because she feared for her livelihood

saying, he absolutely ruined my career. he was the head of cbs. no one was going to take me. another accuser saying he's cunning, he's calculating and he's a predator. these latest accusations adding to the list of seven other women who previously accused moonves of offenses ranging from unwanted advances to sexual assault. >> these are all stories in which women said one after another they were terrified and intimidated and they felt their careers suffered as a result. >> reporter: last year, the media titan addressed the "me too" movement. >> but i think it's important that a company's culture will not allow for this. and that's the thing that's far-reaching. >> reporter: the cbs chief responding to these latest allegations in a statement, saying, the appalling accusations in this article are untrue. what is true is that i had consensual relations with three of the women some 25 years ago before i came to cbs and i have never used my position to hinder

the advancement or careers of women. cbs has confirmed to us that even before these latest allegations, it was already negotiating a severance package for moonves. some of the women who have come forward expressing outrage over reports that package could be worth $100 million. eva pilgrim, abc news, washington, d.c. florence continues to strengthen as it swirls across the atlantic. forecasters say it's still too early to know the exact path but warn it can hit the carolinas by this thursday. states of emergency have been declared in those states. navy ships in norfolk are preparing to ride out the storm at sea. >> hardware stores and supermarket shelves are being emptied. the university of north carolina at wilmington is already urging students to le let's go to accuweather's erin calandra for the complete forecast. erin?

>> good morning, we continue to track hurricane florence. it is expected to develop into a very powerful storm over the next 24 hours into a category 4 as it tracks towards the u.s. now, we expect it to get close to the coast thursday night into friday. if you're in this red zone, you need to have a plan in place. start thinking about evacuations and certainly listen to your local authorities. we're also tracking hurricane isaac. it is a category 1. it will be pushing off to the west, weakening as it approaches the lesser antilles. and we have flooding downpours across the northeast, mainly pennsylvania into upstate new york. certainly a day you want to bring the umbrella. don't forget about that. back to you. >> good advice, erin. thank you. breaking overnight, the dallas police officer who shot and killed a man after walking into his apartment has been arrested. 30-year-old amber geiger was taken into custody on a manslaughter charge but is now out on a $300,000 bond. police say geiger mistook his apartment for hers after

maria butina heading back to court after prosecutors backed away from a claim that she used sex to gain access. they misunderstood a series of text messages between butina and an unnamed man but insist she's a flight risk and should remain in jail. butina's accused of acting as an agent for russia. prosecutors still have doubts about her relationship with a conservative operative. some sad news from the singer olivia newton-john this morning. the grammy winner is battling cancer for the third time. she was first diagnosed with the disease in 1992. she's received radiation therapy and using natural recommends. she remains optimistic and vows to beat the disease again. the green bay packers in >> then he said relax. he left the field on a golf
