earlier police activity. that has cleared. delay in all directions. but normal service is resuming. next traffic update coming up around 6:10. thanks alexis. in the negotiate pay, fire crews are making progress on a wildfire that forced hundreds of people from their napa county homes. the latest update from cal fire says the snell fire has burned 2,400 acres. it is 20% contained. firefighters say they should have a better idea later on this morning when residents will be able to return home. no injuries have been reported. look at this. crews are using a firefighting train to battle flames from the delta fire in shasta county. they're spraying water on areas along the tracks near the sacramento river. the fire forced a nearly 50-mile-stretch of interstate 5 to get shut down. it will be closed down indefinitely north of redding. officials will hold a community meeting today to update residents on fire conditions. an investigation into an officer-involved shooting is under way in the south bay.

a santa clara police officer shot 38-year-old manuel rico yesterday morning. police say the shooting happened after rico rammed a stolen suv into several police cars during a pursuit. officers spotted the stolen vehicle, tried to pull it over. the driver led them on a chase. rico is in the hospital and is expected to recover. >> the jewish high holidays from begun. people at five synagogues may be on high alert after finding anti-semitic flyers. the anti-defamation league said the group mentioned on the flyer was involved with the white supremacist rally in charlottesville, virginia. the new members and trolling people online. temple beth sholom found the flyer last week. th

be intimidated. they will increase patrols, as they do every year, around the high holidays. oakland mayor shaft and lynette gibson-mcelhaney did not violate ethics rules. they used more than $300,000 worth of tickets. the mayor used $54,000 worth of tickets between 2015 and 2016. the oakland public ethics commission conducted that investigation. however, gibson mcelhaney is still facing because she accepted gifts from a company contracted by the city and failed to disclose the gifts. it's been decades since they played the rams in their opener. abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield has more on what we can expect tonight. hi there, amy

new video just coming in shortly ago. this is an airport runway in the city of lyon in france. this is a car speeding down the runway. officials say the driver went through a barrier. and airport police were able to stop the is the suspect near the tarmac. police at the airport were able to stop that person. it's causing gridlock in the fourth busiest airport right now in fran. all flights are stopped for the investigation. airport officials say it could be self more hours before the runways are reopened there. in the east bay, alameda investigators will release more information about a man found near train tracks at highway 84 yesterday afternoon. the death may be a homicide. it appears the man was not hit by a train.

76 inland. one more shot of upper 80s to 90s. 76 around the bay. 62 at the coast. a greater look at the cooling trend coming up. to the south bay incident. parents jumping into action after a stolen suv barreled onto a playing field on campus. police say the driver is a former police officer. this happened yesterday as several hundred kids were paying pop warner football at the stadium. the driver called them and told them he wanted to fight with officers. witnesses say some parents took matters into their own hands and started throwing tires at the stands.trying to s the stands were pretty full. i think they saved our kids's lives. >> brave parents there. the chase ended at the baseball field. an officer shot at the suspect, believing he was going to run him down with his vehicle. in the end, nobody got hurt. the suspect surrendered.

right now crews are making some progress on the snell fire that threatens napa county. huge flames in our video. about 200 homes remain evacuated. but the napa county sheriff's office gave permission to some residents to go back in their homes. the fire has burned 2,400 acres since it began. it is 20% contained. a creek is serving as a natural barrier and helping firefighters at least for now. the concern right now is just that it is holding along putah creek. we want to make sure we are confident that area has cooled down enough that we will not >> no avbelovacuate th clligation. and cal fire says they should have a better idea this morning
