live, where you live. this is abc 7 news. incredible new surveillance video shows us the exact moment a honey bus crashed into a building this morning in san francisco's marina district. hi there, i'm reggie aqui, kristen sze will be in later today. now, that bus was carrying passengers and it's hard to tell from the video, but it was going against traffic. we now know the driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. abc 7 news reporter amy hole field is live along lombard street. >> reporter: they just pulled the bus off of the building and they have it up right now. we can see a closer look at the damage that it left behind here.

there used to be a tree there, that took the brunt of the force. you can see the building's awning is gone. westbound a section of lombard right here is still closed from this huge accident. the accident was captured by a surveillance camera across the street. watch as the muni bus crashes into a tree and a dry cleaning business on lombard street. this was at 5:45 this morning. the bus was headed eastbound but veered across the median into oncoming traffic and crashed. da von day robinson saw the whole thing from across the street. >> it was driving on this side and went over it. it was slow, though, as if he just let off the grass and it just like coasted over. so, you know, it coasted over and then just coasted slowly into the building and the tree and the tree snapped and that's when i heard the loud like real thunder. >> reporter: investigators say one passenger complaining of pain was taken to the hospital, but the most seriously hurt was the 66-year-old bus driver. >> the driver is still in fe-th

injuries stumble off the bus, one of them fell while trying to get out. police would like to interview those who were on board. >> the others left the bus and continued on their way, wherever it was where they were going this morning. if those folks see the reports of this collision, we'd like them to contact investigators. >> reporter: investigators say it is too early to speculate on why the bus crossed the median and crashed. they will be reviewing the video captured by the bus' camera. it had a huge impact on morning traffic. those staying in hotels near the scene were stunned that this happened. >> everybody is coming out of their rooms, everybody is looking around coming out of their rooms and i'm just like some crazy thing to see, you know, and we are just out here on vacation. >> reporter: he's visiting here from sacramento. i just talked to a muni official who says the bus driver's family is with him at the hoer ist happened, whether he was suffering a medical condition

while he was driving. they're still looking into t i asked if there were any reports of erratic driving right before this happened, they say at this point theyat. live in san francisco, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. >> it's a wonder more people weren't hurt. thanks for that update. new at 11:00, a big announcement from governor brown. he just signed into law a revolutionary bill that will change the way all of us get our electricity. abc 7 morning anchor jessica castro is here now with this major environmental push. >> the governor signed senate bill 100 into law, it's aimed at curbing greenhouse gas emissions. he also just signed an executive order on climate change. the plan is to phase out all fossil fuels from the state's electricity sector by the year 2045, although it's only a goal there is no penalty for falling short. the governor just made the announcement within the last hour in sacramento saying this new law aims to position california as a global leader on climate change. the renewable energy measure

requires california utilities to generate 60% of their energy from wind, solar and other renewable sources by the year 2030, that is 10% higher tnat c. >> california is committed to doing whatever is necessary to meet the existential threat of climate change, and, yes, it is an existential threat. no matter what the naysayers may say, it is a real present danger to california and to the people of the world. this bill and others i'm going to sign this week help us go in this direction. >> and state lawmakers who were gathered there behind the governor praised him for his leadership. lawmakers claim this new plan will also create hundreds of jobs in renewable energy fields. this announcement very timely. the new law comes ahead of the global action summit in san francisco which is later this week, it starts on wednesday. reggie? >> thanks, jessica. a dangerous fire started at a home in santa clara this morning, the family of four was

able to escape, but their garage and their two cars, a prius and a tesla model x were heavily damaged. matt keller joins us live from the home in the river mark tint matt? >> reporter: hi, reggie. i just talked with the homeowner and he says security footage from his home appears to show the flames starting in the garage and extending out to the vehicles in the driveway. the fire marshal is here on the scene investigating, but has yet to make an official conclusion. this two-alarm fire was a costly one, the garage and part of the home at the corner of fair way and marston lane was damaged. two cars parked in the driveway, a toyota prius and tesla model x were partially melted. >> batteries and electric cars they do pose a hazard, firefighters are trained to deal with those hazards. >> reporter: firefighters used water to put out the flames. the cameron family was sleeping when the fighter started. >> i was woken up by fire alarms

going off about 5:00 a.m. and i could hear explosions and popping from downstairs and the sound of breaking glass and that's what woke me up. >> reporter: jamie cameron his wife, 16-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son were able to escape without injury. they're planning on staying with neighbors for now. insurance will have to step in before they go home or drive again. >> those cars are definitely gone. >> reporter: the fire investigation unit arrived on the scene at about 6:30 this morning. they'll determine if the fire started in one of the vehicles in the driveway or in the garage. santa clara's fire chief bill kelly says his tier take advanced training on how to handle batteries like tesla's during fires. >> the nature of fires are changing and the hazards presented to the firefighters change with this new technology. it's fantastic technology, but when it's on fire it really concerns us. >> reporter: and because of the potential hazards of the vehicle battery santa clara fire says they will work with the homeowner in making sure the cars are moved safely. reporting live in santa clara, matt keller, abc 7 news.

the snell fire in napa county has grown to nearly 2,500 acres is now 30% contained. that's burning near berryessa estates. 200 homes remain threatened and mandatory evacuation orders remain in place. no injuries have been reported and no structures have been lost. cal fire says the cause of the fire is under investigation. the 50-mile stretch of interstate 5 north of redding that was shut down by the delta fire has now reopened. the closure lasted nearly a week. one lane in each direction is now open. the fire has burned nearly 41,000 acres, it's only 5% contained. homes along the i-5 corridor are still evacuated. so the question we have now is if the weather is going to cooperate with firefighters who are battling both the snell and delta wildfires. let's bring in mike nicco to go the temperatures are going to drop but this time of the year when temperatures drop that's because the winds are picking up

and the humidity will pick up also. let me get thefire, it's 74 degrees right now, rh 29%. the winds are okay. look what the temperatures are going to do, it's going to jump up to about 94 and then it will drop back down to about 79 to 78 thursday and mid 80s as we head towards sunday. along with that let's see what the winds are going to do. you can see they spike above 20 miles per hour during the evening hours and then they stay up around 10 to 15 during the overnight hours. all right. a little closer to home in northern napa, 84 degrees already and look at that rh, 22%, but at least it's pretty calm up there. look at the winds, they are going to pick up also pushing around 15 to 20 miles per hour blowing northwest to southeast. that will keep the smoke away from us but is also go going to make people to the southeast of that fire nervous as the winds will be blowing it that way. notice the temperature dropping down to the 69 to 70 degree range as we head into wednesday and thursday. that's the good and the bad i

misconduct. wall street is definitely reacting to the news. look at this -- >> the head of cbs is out. les moonves is stepping down amid but accusations of sexual assault and harassment. >> it is the first example of a fortune 500 ceo, someone who is really thought to be immune to criticism, has stepped down. >> ronan farrow behind just published new yorker article feet ripping six women detailing allegations spanning three decades. one of those women says moonves sexual assaulted her in 1986 and alleges a separate incident. >> he picked me up and threw me against the wall. i mean, i just lay on the floor and cried. >> another woman, former massage therapist deborah catay says moonves requested sexual acts during sessions which she refused. >> he would ask me to work into his genital areas. >> and one former assistant claims moonves coerced oral sex,
