. it is the worst feeling in the world like the heavens will falling out can do anything. >> catastrophic flash flooding is expected for days in north carolina. thank you for joining us. >> this storm is moving so slowly it's receiving some areas un0 feet of water. at least five people confirmed dead, including a mom and an infant. >> more than 900,000 customers are without power. here's the latest on the storm's ongoing impact. >> reporter: we have been feeling the effect here more than 30 hours. this is not letting up anytime soon. the flooding from florence devastating.

what the area can expect over the week. >> more flooding rain. bands of intense rain continue to feed into the carolinas where catastrophic flooding is being reported from the national hurricane center across parts of north and south carolina. tornado watch boxes are up as the tropical storm interacts with land. it will cause the possibility of tornadoes. we've already seen multiple reports of flash flooding, heavy clouds with the rain. packing winds of 60 miles an hour, moving so slowly at five miles an hour, tomorrow afternoon, evening, it's over south carolina still as a tropical storm. then weakening to a depression. making the turn toward the northeast. the biggest thing with this storm is additional 20 to 25 inches optical rain with a life threatening storm surge and flooding will comet. larry? >> thank you. the american red cross is

and not in the newly painted parking spots. this is just temporary. part of the better bikeway project creating more protected bike lanes throughout the city. as you can see tonight it's creating a lot of confusion. along north 3rd street in downtown san jose it's commuter confusion. new bike lanes are painted in but only parts are paymented green. while some drivers are parking against the curb, other drivers are parking there. >> i don't know where i'm supposed to park. >> reporter: many were second guessing their parking decision. >> cars will get stuck in the middle. >> reporter: the new painted parking lane is not to be used

yet. drivers should park against the curb. the city says everything will make more sense once the project is completed. then the official bike lane will be paymented green and be obvious. this design is already in place outside of san jose stooifrt's library. >> this street gets really crazy, so i'm glad that there are going to be designated bike lanes but in the meantime it seems a little hectic. >> reporter: others hope the measures will calm soon. >> takes about a week for people to figure things out. it's a new traffic pattern, and people figure it out. >> reporter: now, the truck behind me is boxed in for the moment so drivers remember, park closest to the curb. the city answer that the entire better bikeway sj project could take a few months. i'm reporting in san jose, abc 7 news. >> all right. amanda, thanks. a commuter shuttle bus burst

>> it is science. it's known as a fall streak, larry and ama when a plane flies through a cloud, especially with the ice crystals and super cooled water droplets drop the sun went down and you have to see the sunset. it was absolutely stunning tonight. so we still had a lot of high clouds moving through. colorful sunset. hopefully you got a chance to enjoy it. if not, enjoy it now. starting off the weekend, live doppler seven shows plenty of high clouds. temperatures in the 50s and 60s across the bay area and as far as what you can expect going into the weekend, we'll call it scattered clouds during the overnight hours. breezy and cooler tomorrow. today we were in the low 60s to lowell 80s but we'll reverse it a little bit.

it remains below average. a live look towards san francisco. all good looking visibility there. city hall green. we look at the temperatures. first thing in the morning, mid 40s to mid activity. a cool start. a few clouds around. mostly high-level now but we'll see some low clouds as well. 73 san jose, kupper tina. on the peninsula 71 for you. 62 half moon bay. breezy along the coast line. north bay temperatures ranging from the 60s to the 70s. 70 in san rafael. 7 in santa rosa. if you like this pattern, you're in luck because it's sticking around for a few days. 70 in fremont. inland areas blb nice and mild and sunny. 75 degrees in walnut creek. there's a lot happening this weekend. chinatown autumn moon festival.
