carolinas right now. in fact, it's only moving to the west at 2 miles an hour. essentially you could walk faster than florence is moving right now. so that is not good news for an area that has seen a lot of rainfall. in fact, over the past 72 hours, this is rainfall across the carolinas. look at this, parts of wilmington have seen more than two feet of rainfall the past three days. some cities have seen close to 30 inches of rainfall, and there's more rain to come. look at additional rainfall. this is rainfall on top of what they have already seen in the area. so you can see why problems are just going to get worse, not better in the coming days. additional rainfall over a wide swath of north carolina, more than 10 inches of rain. so we have flash flood emergencies in effect where towns are essentially just inundated with a lot of water. here we go with the track on florence. it is going to pick up the pace over the next 24 hours. you can see by monday afternoon it is out of the carolinas.

the word florence to 90999. prosecutors in texas believe a u.s. border patrol agent killed four women and kidnapped another. the kidnapping victim escaped. they're also describing the suspect juan david ortiz as being a serial killer who targeted prostitutes. sheriffs, deputies and state troopers arrested ortiz in a border town southwest of san antonio. homeland security officials confirmed that ortiz works as a superviseder for the border patrol. a woman is expected to survive after being hit by a vta light rail train in san jose town. they had to free her at north 1st and jackson streets happening at 9:30 p.m. last night. vta tells us suspect is rail safety month in california. and it's important to look and listen for approaching trains when you're driving, cycling or walking near railroad tracks. happening now, hip hop concert is under way in the parking lot of the oakland k

colise coliseum. the rolling loud festival was being set up yesterday. promoteers claim it's the world's largest hip hop festival. coliseum, you may hear it.he police have set up a noise complaint hot line. the coliseum is two miles north of oakland's border with san leandro. lek tris scooter company is not complying with a cease and desist letter. we've seen bird scooters in other cities and they apparently brought their scooters to santa cruz without getting permission or permits. city officials say their cease and desist letter told bird to remove all their scooters by thursday. but as of yet afternoon, city officials that had not happened. they also say bird's claim to other media that they had a meeting scheduled with the city is not true. a tragic end to summer, a deadly shark attack. how beach goers rushed to save a man at a massachusetts beach today.

cooperation agreement has nothing to do with the trump campaign, quote, there's no evidence of collusion. >> reporter: david wright, abc news, washington. a swimmer died after he was attacked by a shark along the shore of cape cod in massachusetts. a tv news helicopter captured video of a shark swimming near the scene of today's tragedy. it's not known if that's the same shark that attacked the victim. rescuers tried to save the man before he was pronounced dead at a hospital. police on cape cod say the victim was in his mid 20s. this is cape cod's second shark attack since last month, but it's cape cod's first deadly attack in more than 80 years. an iconic bay area music and movie studio closed forever today. legends like carlos santana, green day and journey all recorded albums at fantasy studios inside berkley's media center. fantasy also helped produce movies including "one flew over the coo coo's nest" and the english patient. changes and technology made it

live, this is abc 7 news. thanks for joining us. a santa rosa neighborhood marked a major milestone today nearly a year after it was ravaged by the tubs fire. >> one, two, three.three.three.. >> abc 7 news was in fountain grove when homeowner joined contractors for a ribbon cutting outside his rebuilt home. he had a hard time containing his joy. >> i'm over the top elated and happy. it's overwhelming because when this all started, little did i think that we were going to be rebuilt in 11 months. it's a real special thing for us to be apart of bringing people back into their homes, especially for this neighborhood because my family built it the first time 20 years ago. >> it has taken longer to rebuild homes in fountain grove

in other communities. as you can see, others are being built. last october's fires destroyed more than 1,400 homes in fountain grove. it could take nearly four months to replace a cracked window at san francisco's millennium tower. the homeowner's association put protections into place that kept the city from yellow tagging the building yesterday. abc 7 news was on mission street yesterday. crews taped up the cracked window and put scaffolding up above sidewalks to protect pedestrians from any debris that might fall. engineers are trying to figure out why the window cracked. confusion over new parking patterns in downtown san jose. this shows bicyclists in the parked lane and drivers parked in the bike lane. should you be parking in lane a or in lane b? the answer is actually lane b, next to the curb and not in the new painted spaces. abc 7 news reporter amanda dell

costillo explains. >> it's commuter confusion. new bike lanes are painted in, but only parts are painted green. while some drivers are continuing to park against the curb, others are parking in the new lane to the left. this is putting vehicles side by side and forcing cyclists to maneuver through the mess. this driver isn't alone. many were second guessing their decision to park along the changing street where there would appear to be two parking laens. >> do we double park? what happens to cars who get stuck in the middle? >> reporter: the new painted parking lane should not be used just yet. for now, the lane is what bicyclists should use. drivers should still park against the curb until they are blocked from doing so. the city says everything will start making more sense once the better bike way prongt is completed. then it will be painted green and be obvious. this design is already in place outside of san jose state university's library. >> this street gets really crazy. so i'm glad that there are going

is wrecking havoc. the storm slammed into the philippines. air asia cancelled 22 flights to and from the philippnes and cities in southern china. hong kong, people are batoning down the hatches as the storm heads their way. pacific airways cancelled all flights in and out of hong kong beginning tomorrow morning. back at home, federal officials are preparing for our next natural disaster, they're doing it by sending you a message from president trump. fema is testing a new emergency warning system this week along with the disasters, it will ultimately be used to send alerts about things like missing children. most cell phone users will receive the so-called presidential alert thursday afternoon. the alert system will also be tested on radio and tv. a devastated texas family is demanding answers after one of their own was shot by a dallas police officer who says she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. botham jean was laid to rest friday. an attorney for the family is casting doubt on the official

story. reporter ryan young has that and goes inside jean's apartment to see the scene for mims. >> reporter: unit 1478 is where the 26-year-old's young life was cut short when he was shot by a police officer in his living room. a small memorial flowers and a photo with his mother adorn his front door. >> at 26 years old he had done so much. >> reporter: with permission from the family, we are getting a look inside botham's apartment. it's a typical single man's apartment except for the bullet hole in the wall indicated by an evidence marking more than six feet high. there's also pool of blood on the floor which we will not show you. there's laundry piled on couch and botham's half eaton bowl of cereal still had mill m in it. he may have been reading one of the many books littering the apartment before he was shot and kimmed by officer amber guyger. this is video witness says of amber guyger pacing around

moments after shooting. she shot jean after mistaking his apartment for her own. guy dlgs ger says after work she parked her car on the wrong floor, walked to the wrong apartment and jean's door was slightly open. her statement to police, guyger says she gave verbal commands before firing two shots. witnesses tell a different story. >> they both heard a knock or a pounding on the door followed by a female's voice saying open up. let me in. she said the voice didn't sound like an offer command but sounded like someone who wanted to be let into the apartment. she said that was shortly followed by the sound of gunshots and the sound of a man's voice saying what she believed to be oh my god, why did you do that? >> reporter: the jean's family attorney and the family are now upset the leak of a search warrant that indicates officers went inside jean's apartment looking for drugs. officers say they did find and removed several items including a small amount of marijuana. the warrant does not indicate

who the items belong to. it's unknown if a search warrant was executed at the officer's apartment. 26 years on this earth, he lived his life virtually without blemish. it took being murdered by a dallas police officer for botham jean to become a criminal. there is a clear intent here to smear the name of botham jean ♪ i cannot stand, i'll fall on you ♪ >> reporter: during a moving funeral service, we learned about jean's and his accomplishments. family and friends talked openly about his love of people, for singing and the fact that he was a high achieving employee on a partnership track at the accounting firm pwc. >> pwc is hurting. not just in dallas but all across our country. >> he was so joyful. and we know how much he loved to sing. you know, he was the biggest

barzee in when she's let out. smart said earlier this week that she thinks she's still a threat. >> i do believe she's a threat. she is a woman who had six children and yet could coconspire to kidnap a 14-year-old girl and not only sit next to her while being raped, but encourage her husband to continue to rape me. >> after she's released next wednesday, barzee will be under federal probation in five years. they have provided no details. a young female bear burned during the car fire is now back in the wild roaming free. the state department fish and wildlife released the bear yesterday. a crew working to fix damaged utility poles spotted the bear a month ago licking its burned paws. she was taken to u.c. davis where vets used sterilize fish skin do make a bandage. it protects the burn.

also today, other animals affected by fires will get new homes. nearly 2,000 pets left homeless during the fires in lake county are looking for a new home. at the eighth annual bay area pet fair, the lake county shelter is bringing all of their adoptable pets. they've been inundated after all the fires in the area. the event wraps up at 5 and goes from 10 to 5 tomorrow at the fairgrounds. a video of a woman being denied service at taco bell is now going viral. >> nobody here speaks english. nobody in the back speaks english? >> no. >> what happened when a spanish-speaking employee told an english-speaking customer that no one could take her order? i'm meteorologist drew tuma. we have wind gusts right now well over 20 miles an hour. and that continues tomorrow. we'll have the numbers and that full accuweather forecast ahead.

the massachusetts communities of and over, north andover and lawrence are under a state of emergency following this week's numerous gas explosions. today ntsb investigators are saying they're looking into what happened right before the blasts. marcus moore has the latest. >> reporter: crews continuing door to door inspections, checking homes for any lingering danger after that string of explosions hit three communities north of boston. fire departments overwhelmed on thursday, crews stretched too thin to respond to every fire. some residents putting the flames out themselves. >> i just started fanning it, fanning it and it eventually went out. >> reporter: one person killed, 18-year-old lionel rondon died when an explosion sent this chimney crashing down on to his suv. at least 25 others hurt. the ntsb leading the investigation. >> we will look and develop a complete timeline of the events surrounding this disaster. we want to know any testing that may have occurred on this pipeline, any failures that may

have occurred. >> reporter: these infrared images showing another gas leak under the pavement. that leak caught before it sparked any explosions. more than 8,000 residents forced to evacuate their homes and neighborhoods. colombia gas company setting up a hot line and a clamss center for anyone affected. >> this is the sort of thing that a gas distribution company hopes never happen. >> reporter: representatives of the gas company on hand to try to answer questions, but customers growing impatient. >> you knew when we were coming here that we would have questions. you should have had some answers. >> the governor frustrated with colombia gas companies handling of the situation, declaring a state of emergency, clearing the way for another gas company to make necessary repairs. meanwhile, many residents are still unable to return home. marcus moore, abc news, new york. a video that shows a spanish-speaking taco bell employee apparently denying service to an english-speaking customer is going viral. the video has been viewed more than 100,000 times. it has also cost the taco bell worker her job. >> i want to order food.

francisco, 22 in livermore. oakland and the east bay equally as breezy at 21. that wind coming off the cool ocean water helping to keep our temperatures well below average for this time of the year. into the future we go, tomorrow morning those winds do weaken a bit by 9:00 in the morning on your sunday, those winds likely less than about 10 miles an hour across the region, but you get that daytime heating and into the afternoon and into the evening we do expect those winds to become active once again, likely gusting over 20 miles an hour for a second day in a row. right now temperature wise we're only at 60 in san francisco. that's 10 degrees below where we should be for this time of the year. only 65 in oakland, 72, though, in san jose, 76 that current temperature in santa rosa. brentwood, the warmest spot on our map right now and not all that warm at 78 degrees for this time of the year. so here is the call from accuweather, overtonight we'll have cool spots in the north bay dropping into the 40s. chill in the atmosphere for some around santa rosa and napa.

elsewhere, we'll have fog spilling in and around the bay. mid to low 50s is what we'll drop to in the overnight hours. for most of us outside of north bay, our 12-hour day planner on our sunday, sun is up at 6:52 in the morning. by midday, we'll still see cool temperatures. warming process still being very slow thanks to that breeze. so high stund micro climate 73 for san jose, 72 the high in santa clara. 76 in morgan hill. along the peninsula, it is breezy. it is cool for this time of the year. 70 for palo alto. downtown san francisco have the layers only 63 in the city. 59 cooler for daily city stuck in the fog tomorrow afternoon. 74 for petaluma. 74 napa. lot of 60s on the board, bright and breezy, 66 for berkley. 69 for freemont.

oakland 67 tomorrow. inland, this is comfortable for this time of the year. we're in the 70s. no intense heat. 78 for brentwood. 75 for walnut creek. 72 that high for livermore. here is the latest on florence. watch this storm. it's not moving all that much. in fact, it's only moving to the west at 2 miles an hour. so essentially you could walk faster than florence is moving right now. that's not good news because it will dump anywhere from 10 to 12 inches of additional rainfall. it will pick up the pace as you head into early next week and by monday, it's finally getting out of the carolinas. however, they are going to have problems for several weeks to come thanks to those flooding rains. but florence will pick up the pace over the next 24 to 48 hours. back here at home, here is the accuweather seven day forecast. it is a breezy afternoon on your sunday. we're going to stay below average monday, even into tuesday. tuesday, it's a cool day around here. temps are going to rebound a bit as we head into thursday. but it will be just a one-hit wonder because temperatures go
