testimony before the senate judiciary committee on thursday. much of the east bay is under a red flag warning tonight, and that means fire departments are on high alert. live in san ramon where, lillian, two fires have broken out in the past two days. >> reporter: kristen, today's fire was put out quickly thanks in part to a special strike team that was organized in response to the red flag warning. fire to break out in san ramon over the last 24 hours. this one was west of interstate 680. crews from all over the bay area helped put out the fire. therapy called beforehand to a staging area. >> i believe the departments are lot more reactive as far as having people in place out in the field rather than having them in firehouses waiting for call. >> reporter: one of the city's? genas part of that special strike team. other oakland crews, however, have been patrolling the oakland

girlfriend's home and took his 6-year-old son. he's believed to be in a 2012 black ford fusion. information on the car has been put up on highway signs including one in san jose. you see there. tonight police say they're also looking for this woman. she's a person of interest in the abduction. the bunesia man suspected oe being the nor cal rapists was arrested last week and investigators say he's tied to at least ten sexual assaults between 1991 and 2006. he's so far just been charged in the attack of two women in sacramento in 2006. other counties including here in the bay area are also expected to file charges. >> i was the only one who saw his face for a really long time, and that's another reason i wanted to come. i saw his face when yes, i was in fear and this time i get to see his face not in fear.

attention to is above that fog layer you saw all that haze. air quality is beginning to deteriorate as temperatures inland reached up into the low 90s today. along the coast that fog kept numbers in the low 60s. spare the alert has been issued for tomorrow. unhealthy air quality east bay and the santa clara valley. and we are headed towards another day of hot weather, especially inland. so take a look at the hourly temperature trend. antioch starting out at 60 degrees 8:00 p.m. you know you're going to feel the heat especially if you're inland tomorrow afternoon. right near the coast it's starting to break up a little bit and that's an indication thatortherly wind flow is starting to develop and chew up that fog. a live look from our east bay hills camera and you can see that fog as we look back towards san francisco. foggy at the coast for the

morning commute. high fire danger through tomorrow evening and autumn heat is with us for the next few days. first thing in the morning look out for that fog. it may actually be dense right along the coast. temperatures mid-40s to the upper 50s, clear skies inland. and as we head into the afternoon get ready for a hot day in the south bay. 84 cupertino. on the peninsula 84 in mountain view to 70 in millbray. pretty mild weather there. downtown san francisco, 70 degrees. right near the coast in the north bay, 60s. this almost looks like the summer microclimates, but you see the 90s. 88 in vallejo, it's short sleeve weather for you. east bay, 79 in oakland, and 84

degrees in fremont. and you head inland and those temperatures are going to avera year. shorts, short sleeve type of weather. but don't get too used to this idea. i want to show you two interesting systems. friday night some clouds approach. saturday afternoon, evening there's a slight chance of a few showers in the north bay. watch what happens as we head into next week. some tropical moisture is going to head into southern california eventually trying to work its way up towards big sur. you can download the accuweather app and track those temperatures anytime you want. they're going up the next new days. then you'll see the heat moderating on thursday with sharply cooler weather friday through the weekend. only upper 70s inland by the weekend. low 60s coast side. slight chance on saturday, so definitely be watching that for you. >> there's something for
