at the east shore freeway. 80 to macarthur maze. everyone is moving along until you funnel into the bay bridge. we'll go back to walnut -- pardon me, the concord area, westbound highway 4 where we had an accident partially blocking the lane there. chp working to clear it out of lanes but seeing slow traffic westbound through 4. an amber alert is in effect for a 6-year-old boy. we'll get right to the photos. modesto said he forced his way into his ex-girlfriend's home and took their son jayce cosso. police are also looking for renee quijada, a person of

interest. cosso is expected to be in a ford fusion, black. a plane that was about to take off from sfo spilled fuel onto the tarmac and passengers were forced to deplane while crews cleaned up the mess. abc7 news reporter amanda is live at sfo with the details. amanda? >> reporter: yeah, jessica, there was quite a few bits of movement in the last few minutes. you can see the plane still parked at the gate, gate two in the distance. a few minutes ago inside of the terminal we saw some action, some activity. people were standing at the gate desk and you can see them walking away. we saw them walking away looking very defeated this morning after having to wait more than four hours for that flight to mexico city. i want the to get you to some twitter video we were able to

pull together just before 2:00 a.m. a passenger tweeted this video saying gallons of fuel leaked from the plane. passengers were on board when the fuel began spilling from the airbus. he said the smell was pungent and obvious. passengers were finally evacuated from the plane. when we got to sfo before 4:30, it was easy to see dozens of passengers on the flight. crews were working around the plane to get the fuel cleaned from the tarmac. sfo initially said there were plans for a 4:30 departure but that does not seem to be the case. in fact, flight aware says the flight has since been canceled. duty manager confirms 10 gallons of fuel leaked from the plane. we reached out to volaris for comment. within the last five minutes, i want to say, we saw passengers

lawyer, staunch conservative and has successfully defended trump's policies, including the travel ban, before the supreme court. he got his start as a clerk for scalia and part of george w. bush's legal team. power lines started a grass fire in the south bay. pg&e says they're working to see what happened, according to the mercury news. the 40-acre fire started sunday afternoon. we told you about it yesterday on our morning show. multiple homes were threatened at one point but none were damaged. two cal firefighters have minor injuries. you're never more than seven minutes away from the accuweather forecast. you're taking a look at peninsula temperatures where we're starting off cloudy at 8:00, 57 degrees. 10:00 at 65. full on hazy sunshine and mid to upper 70s noon through 6:00. back down under the stars.

starbucks is trying to reverse stagnant sales. in july starbucks said sales increased just 1% in its latest quarter. tesla is churning out thousands it of model 3s but the cars are stuck at the factory. ceo elon musk said on twitter saying there's an extreme shortage of car carriers. tesla started building their own to take care of the problem. some employees from amazon are saying it's just damage control following criticism over how the company treats its fulfillment center workers. according to "the washington post," the pay increases range from 25 to 55 cents an hour. in fact, one employee tells "the post," it is the first raise he's received since he started working for amazon in the year 2013. amazon says, quote, wage

5:25. here are the 7 things to know before you go. number one, a flight from sfo to mexico city is canceled after the plane spilled fuel onto the tarmac overnight. passengers on volaris flight 927 had the cabin -- the cabin had a pungent odor and then they had to be evacuated. an airport spokesperson says 10 gallons of fuel spilled. the fire danger continues to be high in the areas you see in red right here, which is mainly above 1,000 feet until you get to the lake and solonos counties. this goes through 5:00 this afternoon. number three, bay area fire crews tell us they are especially worried because of the red flag warning. they're on high alert. the oakland fire department says they have crews patrolling the oakland hills. number four -- brett kavanaugh says he has no plans

look forward to your testimony. there is also now another accuser, deborah ramirez, a former classmate of kavanaugh's at yale university. he says kavanaugh exposed his genitals to her at a drunken party. kavanaugh denies this allegation as well. now, ramirez's allegations are also -- have become the subject of a hot debate across the nation. kgo met up with somebody who knew both kavanaugh and ramirez, he was actually kavanaugh's roommate at yale. he said he believes her and in his experience, he believed that kavanaugh and his social circle were capable of the act she described. reporting live from washington, lana zak, abc news. >> what did kavanaugh's wife -- she was there in that interview. what did she have to say? >> well, she was talking about how difficult it has been on them as a family. she talked about what she's had to tell their children.

b.a.r.t. police department is asking to hire 54 more officers to patrol the systems. they are also going to ask for b.a.r.t. ambassadors to patrol the platforms. the meeting is set for thursday. happening now, bay area firefighters are on a very high alert because of the red flag warning. >> abc7 news amy hollyfield is live in san ramone where they've seen a couple of fires over the past few days. >> hi, matt. they're ready, though. they don't have all their fire stations. tey have sent some out to be there when the calls come in and when the fires start. that tactic paid off. in san ramone, this was the second of two fires in 24 hours. firefighters from all over the bay area were called in to be part of the strike team when the calls came in because of that

red alert in effect right now. in oakland, firefighters are out roaming the street. they are especially paying a lot of attention to the oakland hills above highway 13. >> we notified all of our hill companies and all of our flat land companies to be ready to go, to make sure all of your wild land gear is on the rig, it's all there, ready to go. residents are also enkoushcourao be ready to go as we head into a busy time in the fire season. people need to be careful when using barbecues. firefighters said they were worried about the wind gusts and what they could do overnight. in san ramone, it's very calm, very quiet.

you'll find some gustier breezes creating the red flag warning. that continues through 5:00 this afternoon. we'll start on the peninsula which is becoming increasingly covered with fog this morning. you have low to mid-50s no matter what side you're on. we have pretty much mid-50s. look at oakland, hayward, 55, san jose. 51 in san ramone. napa's temperature has gone up, as have san rafael's. now that the fog is in, you're in the low 50s. here's a look at the san mateo bridge. we're looking west. you can see you're looking through some haze and fog out there. it's widespread everywhere but our east bay and south bay for now. ferry ride, hazy, and 60s at the coast to 90s inland. san francisco, foggy and 51 at 8:00. we'll see a little sunshine by

in the north bay we're learning more about an expansion of the fire watch cameras. this is video from aid camera in yolo county. these cameras give crews crucial details about wildfires. pg&e is paying for nine new cameras in sonoma, napa and marin counties. they're expected to cost up to $750,000. the goal is to have them up and running by the end of the year. in the east bay a battle is growing over a proposed ikea store in dublin. >> you can see the rendering of what the finished store would look like. the city's planning commission will consider the project tonight. ikea already owns that land at the intersection of interstate 580 and hacienda drive. a company spokesperson says the dublin store would be smaller than the ones in emeryville and east palo alto. while some people say they would welcome this popular store, opponents claim its popularity would actually cause big problems for their community.

scammers send an e-mail posing as a human resources employee to obtain their log-in credentials and once people give them the information that they need, they log into the payroll account and change the user's bank information. to cover their tracks, scammers turn off notifications that alert people of any changes. the fbi is saying if you get an e-mail that doesn't look right, contact your employer directly before providing any personal information. the co-founders of instagram are resigning and will leave the company in a matter of weeks. they made the announcement yesterday. late last night they issued a statement hinting what's next, saying they plan to take some time off and, quote, building new things require we step back, understand what inspires us and match that with what the world needs. facebook bought instagram in 2012. mark zuckerberg says he's looking forward to what they

i am shorter than you are. let's talk about what's going on weatherwise because we've got some issues out there. we have the red flag warning. we talked about that. we have thick fog, really dangerously low visibility through the north bay valleys but it's mainly north of san rafael that you can see. 101 looking south towards the golden gate bridge. the fog will pick up. that's my first highlight. summer spread, 60s to 90s. the fire danger will taper tonight and high temperatures will tumble starting friday. we still have our hottest days ahead of us today and tomorrow because we not only have one high pressure, we have two of them governing our weather. this counterclockwise flow is barely throwing a little marine layer at us. that's why we're so foggy this morning. the high pressure pushes down on it and that's what's creating it. it will create a lot of sunshine and sinking air tends to heat. you can see what it does in gilroy. santa cruz, 68 with a lot of cloud cover. our spread in the south bay, 82
