in solanis county it's down to o 1,000 feet. santa rosa, petaluma, eighth of a mile. three around half moon bay. we have some dangerously low visibility there. that will continue through the morning commute. we'll be cloudy at the coast, low 60s. 73 to 79 around the bay from noon to 4:00. at 7:00, upper 70s inland. cool, upper 50s at the coast. here's sue with a look at the morning commute. >> we still have this b.a.r.t. delay, about 20 minutes in the recovery phase. police activity at the bay fair station. that apparently has been cleared up but b.a.r.t. is delayed all directions out of bay fair. 20-minute delay. slowing up on highway 4 westbound. all the usual slow spots. we have an accident just reported westbound on 80 before 680 at cordelia.

an amber alert is in effect for a 6-year-old boy. let's get to those photos. modesto police say john cosso forced his way into his estranged girlfriend's home and took his son, jacye. police are also looking for this woman, renee quijada. you'll probly s signs on your way to work, amber alerts. he's believed to be in 2012 black ford fusion. a plane about to take off from sfo spilled fuel all over the tarmac and passengers deplaned earlier this morning. they are now stuck at the airport waiting for another flight. abc7 news reporter amanda is at sfo with an update. >> reporter: that flight to mexico city has officially been canceled. it was originally scheduled to

take off from here around 12:45 this morning. i'm going to turn so you can see that the plane in question is still parked at gate two. you can imagine the frustration from passengers. many of whom arrived at 10:00 p.m. last night. they boarded the plane after midnight. then things started to go wrong. here's an earlier look from the plane. a dark cabin shortly after boarding and said passengers were told there was some sort of circuit issue and power had to be shut off. passengers started to notice something leaking from the plane. >> i had a window seat so i can see all this fluid or water coming out of the right wing. they said, it's an electrical issue. i said, what is that? they wouldn't tell us. then we started smelling a very strong scent. i have a headache right now. >> reporter: sfo confirms at least ten gallons spilled from the aircraft. passengers say they spent about 30 minutes on the plane before being removed. they spent another four hours waiting on word from the

airline. they are now being forced to rebook and that volaris is suggesting flights out of oakland or later flights over sfo. now passengers are scrambling. passengers also aren't sure what is happening with their luggage, which is a mrob specifproblem a woman who is a mother of two who have all of their luggage on board that flight. she says she's only strapped with a carry-on, carrying that baby, i should say. that's a problem. i'm reporting live from sfo this morning, abc7 news. >> certainly creating a lot of headaches for so many folks. we wish them the best at this point. developing news, the president is standing behind his supreme court pick calling the sexual misconducts allegations against brett kavanaugh political. >> this morning on "gma," white house express secretary sarah

sanders is talking about the controversy. >> we're still a country where you're innocent until proven guilty, except when you're a conservative republican. it's absolutely shameful what the democrats have done. dianne feinstein could have done this in a much more structured process and instead waited until the 11th hour and is playing political games with people's lives and i find that to be disgraceful and disgusting and she certainly needs to shoulder a lot of the blame. >> the third accuser gets ready to come forward some time in the next two days. the woman is expected to describe sexual misconduct involving kavanaugh in the '80s. the other two accusers are dr. christine blasey ford and deborah ramirez. kgo spoke to kavanaugh's freshman at yale who said kavanaugh was a heavy drinker who became aggressive and

everyone has a role in ensuring safety of the community. >> deputy attorney general rod rosenstein will meet with president trump in two days on thursday. rosenstein's job was in question after allegations he wanted to secretly record the president. rumors circulated about rosenstein's possible resonation or his firing but no decisions will be made about his employment until he and the president speak face to face. if rosenstein leaves his post, the current solicitor general noel francisco will take his place. they say he's a fierce lawyer and staunch conservative and defended some of president trump's policies, including the travel ban before the supreme court. fr francisco got his start as a clerk for judge scalia. this is video of a fire

news from our live desk. bill cosby is back in court facing sentencing for his sexual assault conviction. cosby doesn't plan to make a statement before he's sentenced. that's for drugging and sexually assaulting a woman. prosecutors are asking for a sentence of five to ten years in prison. his attorney says the81-year-old cosby is too old and frail for prison. they want the judge to sentence him to house arrest. keel continue tracking that story. trouble brewing at starbucks. bloomberg reports the company is reorganizing and planning corporate layoffs that will start at top levels. a memo from the ceo to employees says changes will begin this week and carry on into november.

starbucks is trying to reverse its stagnant growth. in fact, in july, starbucks said sales increased just 1% in its latest quarter. tesla is churning out thousands of model 3s every week but the cars are stuck at the factory. buyers are not getting their cars on time because of a problem with delivery. elon musk responded to a customer's complaint on twitter saying there's an extreme shortage of car carriers. he said tesla started building their own carriers to the problem. warriors are back and ready. the media met the team yesterday

an earlier accident near cordelia blocking a couple lanes of traffic. that's been pushed off to the right hand shoulder. seeing slow traffic through fairfield but it picks up once you reach highway 680 and highway 12. better news for b.a.r.t. a 20-minute delay going for quite some time this morning. that's been lifted. all trains, 51 running on schedule. also an earlier smart train delay is back on schedule with the 419 train arriving in san rafael. no problem with the ace this morning at all. >> thanks, sue. air" alert today. tomorrow could be our 13th. be careful if you're o you havsssith asthma and transit week, a celebration of the city's public transportation options. the first day didn't go quite as planned. public officials planned on taking public transit to city halibut muni bus didn't show up, forcing them to walk to a b.a.r.t. station to make it on time. the muni ride-along organizers said it wasn't a big deal for the public officials but so many depend on public transit. >> it's all too familiar for thousands, for mother, the cause they're late for the third time and we're working to fix that. >> it took officials from san francisco's 11 districts an hour to arrive using public transit. happening today, two san francisco supervisors will

propose giving workers in the city a raise. supervisors want to raise minimum wage for ihss and nonprofit workers to $17 per hour. that's a 75-cent raise. they argue these workers are caring for this city's elderly but can't afford to live in san francisco. under the proposal, cost $89 million. you don't need a lot of exercise to create benefits for your brain. ten minutes a day can improve your memory. the study was conducted on people in their 20s. researchers are looking to see how it translates into older adults. google is adding new ll discove to its mobile ee browser, bringing up content you might be interested in on the

thank you for joining us. >> you never more than seven minutes away from our accuweather forecast. we have the red flag warning, hot temperatures at the beginning of fall. >> a little too breezy, a little too dry. that's why we have the critical fire conditions in the areas in red, which is mainly above 1,000. clear lake -- or lake county the exception down to the valley floor. that continues through 5:00 this afternoon. look at the fog out there. hayward visibility was down to three miles. less than an eighth of a mile in petaluma to santa rosa. dangerously low there. upper 40s to mid-50s. we'll keep the clouds at the coast that's why you stay at low 60s and the rest of us have hazy sunshine and we go mid-stoevenmid-70s to low 90s by 8:00.

hear from dr. blasey ford. she writes, while i am frightened, please know my fear will not stop me from testifying. senator grassley writing back, i look forward to your testimony. for now they are the only two people scheduled to testimony on thursday but there's also now another accuser, deborah ramirez, a former classmate of kavanaugh's at yale university. she says kavanaugh exposed his genitals to her at a drunken party. kavanaugh denies this allegation as well. now ramirez's accusations against kavanaugh have become the subject of a nationwide debate. in washington there's a lot of talk about abc's own reporting. he met up with someone who knew kavanaugh in college, and he says he believes her and fully believes based off what he witnessed as kavanaugh's roommate in college, he and his social circle athe time we

according to "the examiner," the b.a.r.t. police department is asking the board of directors to hire 54 and hire unarmed ambassadors to help. the meeting is set for thursday. happening today, 170,000 people are descending on downtown san francisco for the dreamforce conference. the annual event is put on by salesforce for its customers. the ceo will deliver the keynote address this morning. howard street is closed between third and fourth street. expect heavy traffic in the area and a lot of folks there. dreamforce lasts through friday. bay area firefighters on high alert because of red flag warning. >> abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield is live in san ramone where they've seen fires over the past couple of days. >> reporter: hi, matt. fire departments in the east bay

are working smarter and it is showing. in was the second fire that broke out in san ramone. they got it out quickly and they say it's because of how they're approaching this season. when the red flag warning was called, they sent crews out to the dry hills to wait and watch. crews from all over the bay area were called in to be part of a strike team that was ready to go and that paid off. in oakland they are paying attention to the area above highway 13 just in case. >> i believe the whole department is a lot more reactive as far as having people in place rather than sitting in the fire houses waiting r feporg reminded to be cautious with lawn mowers and barbecues with red flag warnings. this one is in effect until 5:00 this afternoon. firefighters were concerned

to the golden gate bridge you go, nice and easy here with no fog down on the span. it was earlier we had lots of fog. i believe still on the waldo grade you will come up into the fog with limited visibility. two lanes in the northbound direction. four lanes in southbound direction for your commute on this tuesday morning. earlier b.a.r.t. delays have been cleared. we have our usual slow suspects out of the central valley, highway 4. we'll come back in 20 minutes and take a look at other transit options. the ntsb will meet to determine how an air canada jet nearly landed on a crowded taxiway at sfo. the jet was cleared to land on a runway but instead lined up with a parallel taxiway. four commuter jets were on the taxiway, waiting to take off. the air canada flight missed one plane by ten feet before aborting the landing. congress is considering measures to improve safety in both the

i'm keeping an eye on other parts of the state that have red flag warning until 5:00 tomorrow morning. east of there it's until 11:00 this morning. you can see the central valley, the northern half, down to yosemite. about 2.4 million people through 5:00 this evening, just like ours. mid-90s through central valley. 73 in eureka. that's the same temperature in san diego. a quick look at tahoe. 80 tomorrow but 60 with a chance of rain monday. wa> an update on a plane that ouabs tsfoo earlier this morning. it spilled fuel on the tarmac.

pe passengers had to get off. they have been stuck at the airport waiting for another flight or other options. abc7 news is live at sfo with details for us. amanda, this has not been easy for folks. >> not at all. a lot of them arrived at 10:00 last night to catch that 12:40 a.m. flight to mexico city. we know the volaris flight has been officially canceled, as of 5:00 this morning. passengers say the crew on board explained there was some kind of circuit issue that led to power being shut off. from a dark cabin, others noticed liquid leaking from the right wing of the airbus. they smelled fuel later in the cabin. passengers were removed from the plane. after four hours and a series of delays, the flight was officially canceled. >> now they're telling us to go to oakland. thank god i had the carrier i brought. i can't be carrying her.

>> reporter: she says her baby's stroller is still with the airline and still unclear what is happening with the passenger's luggage. a lot of the passengers say they've arrived at around so:00 last night. you can just imagine the frustration as all of them look to rebook. i'm reporting live from sfo, abc7 news. >> thank you. in the south bay a san jose police officer has filed a lawsuit alleging racism in the department. officer nabil and muslim. haidar says he's faced retaliation since filing a complaint with the city. but this in a statement the city says, quote, based on a claim filed by mr. haidar with the state department of fair employment and housing and our subsequent investigation, we have not seen a basis for liability by the city. this is video from a camera

installed in yolo county. these cameras give crews crucial details about wildfires. pg & e is paying for nine new cameras. for one year they're expected to cost up to $700,000. the goal is to have them up and running by president end of the year. in the east bay an ikea store is proposed in dublin. >> the city's planning commission will consider the project tonight. ikea already owns the land at intersection of 680 and hacienda drive. the dublin store would be smaller than the ones in emeryville and east palo alto. some say they wouldel the popular store but others say the popularity would cause big problems for their community. >> according to the document, they'll attract near 18,000 documents on weekends.

that overflow is going to clog dublin boulevard and 580 and then it will become a nightmare. >> ikea claims it will do ff congestion. now to a warning from the fbi about a new scam targeting your direct deposit paychecks. according to the fbi, here's how it works. as a human resources employee to obtain their log-in credentials. once people give them the informationneyhe, they then log into the payroll account and change the user's bank information. to even cover their tracks, scammers are reportedly turning off notifications that alert people of any changes. the fbi says if you get an e-mail that doesn't look right, contact your employer directly before providing any personal information. now your morning money report and another dire warning from sears. >> the company's ceo says sears is running out of time and money. he's pushing a new plan to save

the iconic brand, asking creditors to restructure over $1 billion worth of debt and pushing the company's board to sell off real estate and brands like kenmore. trying to avoid bankruptcy, but sears is facing a huge debt payment next month and they don't have the money to pay it. the co-founders of instagram are resigning and will leave the company within a matter of weeks. late last night they issued a statement hinting at what's next saying they plan to take some time off. also said building new things requires we step back, understands what inspires us and match that with what the world needs. that's what we plan to do. facebook owns instagram and facebook stock is taking a hit this morning. they're down three points already this morning. they've been down in premarket trading so we kind much expected this. we'll keep an eye on those stocks four throughout the day. >> let's take ahe
