third bombshell accusation against supreme court nominee brett kavanaughing. this one from julie swetnick, who claims she met kavanaugh in the early '80s and says she saw him drink excessively and engage in abusive and physically aggressive behavior toward girls. swetnick's lawyer, michael avenatti, speaking on "the view." >> the details in this declaration are specific, they are shocking, but above all else, they are true. >> reporter: judge kavanaugh quickly released a statement saying, this is ridiculous, and from the twilight zone. i don't know who this is, and this never happened. president trump answered questions from reporters wednesday evening for 80 minutes. many of them about the allegations. >> i've had a lot of analysis charges made against me, so when i see it i view it differently. >> reporter: but the president also signaling he'll be listening thursday when kavanaugh and his first accuser professor christine blasey ford,

appear before the senate judiciary committee to answer questions. >>ky always be convinced. i have to hear it. >> reporter: a new look at what blasey ford will say paints an emotional picture, beginning her remarks with, i am here today not because i want to be. i am terrified. meanwhile, an excerpt from judge kavanaugh's statement reading in part, i drank beer on weekends with my friends. sometimes i had too many. in retrospect, i said and did things in high school that make me cringe now. but remaining adamant, saying "i have never sexually assaulted anyone, not in high school, not in college, not ever." shedetails the alleged attack, "i tried to yell for help. when i did, brett put his hand over my mouth. that is what terrified me the most and had the most lasting impact on my life."

today, we learned a second crack has been found in another steel supporting beam, and the center will stay closed through the end of next week. kate larson is live at the transit center to explain who made the steel beam and the possible reasons behind the problem. kate? >> reporter: that's right. we're at fremont and howard where it is very busy right now, crews taking down scaffolding, and there are other crews taking down buslines so crews can work on the cracked beam. tis beam is locally made and it helps support the roof, the bus deck, and this big bridge right over fremont street. bus riders waited wednesday night at a crowded bus stop at the old temporary transbay terminal. nearby, confusion as people are met with police tape instead of their bus home. >> it's not on the apps, it's not updated. now i'm like oh, i have to find

a new way to get home. >> reporter: the questions are not only from commuters. photos were revealed of the crack discovered in the load bearing steel beam tuesday morning. a second smaller crack was discovered also. the possible cause of the defects are numerous at this point. >> three possibilities. fabrication, installation, and design. >> reporter: the senior construction manager says all the steel in the transit center, seen here being installed in 2015, is american made. the beams in question for made by herik steel, head quartered in stockton. >> we had seven different fabricators that provided the steel on this project. herik is one of them, but about 30% of the whole steel that was put on the project. >> reporter: when abc 7 called, they had no comment. but the website shows they have contributed steel to dozens of buildings in san francisco, which make up the city's modern

into apple stores and snatching devices before taking off. it's happened at locations around the bay area. and now we're learning there have been some arrests. lillian kim is live in berkeley. >> reporter: this is one of the locations targeted by thieves, now with the arrests customers say it's about time. security video from separate locations tell the same story. a group of men wearing hoodies is seen entering the stores and grabbing as many apple products on display as they can. it's unclear if it's the same people every time or whether they're a knelt work of thieves. either way, officers arrested six people on the heists. from the north bay to the east bay to the peninsula. >> i think it's great that they're getting them. >> reporter: the customers, news of the arrests comes as relief. many people feared it was a matter of time. >> just the disregard for public safety and there could be

customers here that could be hurt. we could have been hurt when they did what they did. >> reporter: the state attorney general's office says the investigation involves multiple law enforcement agencies and more information will be released later. at least one customer hopes the arrest will send a message to others, especially kids. >> afterpple is a good company. they're making good money out of it. but it's not fair to steal something that isn't yours. >> reporter: the a.g.'s office has yet to name the law enforcement agency it's working with, but oakland pd confirmed officers did assist with the arrest. >> lillian, thank you. the headless body found in a fish tank has been confirmed to be missing homeowner brian egg, according to the san francisco medical examiner. his body was found after neighbors saw strange home. two people were detained and

released. the trial for a woman accused of killing the father of her children in 2016 isn't expected to get under way for nearly a year. the decision was made in part after the suspect was diagnosed with breast cancer. this new development about tiffany lee was announced today. prosecutors say lee and her boyfriend killed green two years ago. lee will be undergoing therapy, radiation, and surgery, so the trial will be delayed until next ago. a witness in the case is scheduled to be in court tomorrow. because of the delay, his attorneys are working to get him reliced. a powerful message for people who try to kill themselves and survive. >> it's project about suicide, but i'm focusing on life. >> now they're part of a movement to give hope to others. plus -- metallica takes over the streets of san francisco. but don't worry, it was for a

thriving community of people who had attempted suicide and survived. >> saying yes i want to live. >> we need to hear those stories. >> reporter: on this night, "the s word" is playing to a fuel screening. >> there was a while we couldn't get this film in places because the stigma was so bad. so the fact that we're here on a monday night and there's this many of you is showing how things are changing. >> reporter: she now works as a mental health advocate, urging people to get help, and those around them to reach out if they think something is wrong. >> there's a big miss out there. if you talk about suicide, it's going to cause someone to think about it. that's just not true. >> reporter: just in case anyone does want to talk, crisis center volunteers are here to remind people help is just a phone call away. >> there are many, many people who felt despair and many people who have thought about suicide.

73 berkeley and 74 in oakland. inland spots, still hot. 93 in livermore, 94 in antioch. i'm drawing your attention back to here. weather is going to get interesting. watching hurricane rosa. here is our first system, there is a second system in the pacific. both of those are heading in our direction. the deal with both of those, the first one is not as strong. the second one may link up with this. so hurricane rosa is a category 1 hurricane. big swells expected for mexico and southern california. expected to strength on the a category three hurricane by friday morning. it will eventually fall apart is what it looks like, and moisture from rosa may link up with that second system producing some showers. here's the first system. saturday morning, it starts to approach in the evening hours that showers are expected in northern california.
