money can't buy, her mom and dad's ashes and photo albums. >> she says the high cost of rent from her hayward apartment last year, and while she is in between homes, robertson put all she owns into public storage. friday morning she got the call that somebody cut the lock to her storage unit. one glance and she realized the crooks got away with the most valuable items inside. >> my grandmother's ashes and dad's ashes, and the antique stuff she left for me, and i was the only granddaughter, and all that is gone. >> material things she says can all be replaced also were taken. roberts estimates the burglars got away with more than $12,000 worth of her belongings and is begging for the safe return of those albums and th ashes. she says those responsible

mistook a duffle bag full of albums and things of monetary value. robertson said her grandmother's ashes were kept in a wooden box with musical notes and had the name alice robertson engraved, and her dad's ashes were in a burgundy box. robertson is afraid these memories are gone forever. >> i thought everything would be safe here, and i wouldn't have never brought my grandmother and father's ashes here if i thought somebody was going to break in here and steal them. for the first time in nearly four months part of the bay area saw rain today. this is what greeted here. >> it has been since may since

kavanaugh hearing drew tens of thousands of people in protest, among those a bay area couple that were in town to attend a family event. laura anthony has their story from albany. >> reporter: among thousands of protesters at the u.s. supreme court on friday a bay area couple that had no plans to visit the high court, much less demonstrate in front of it. on their trip to washington, d.c. for a family wedding. >> that feeling of feeling so powerless, and needing to do something. >> i told this committee that i wanted a hearing as soon as possible -- >> once they heard the testimony on capitol hill, they felt compelled to do something they rarely had done before. >> i actually only protested twice in my life, and the first one was the woman's march and now this was at the supreme court. >> be a raw ham took this picture of bonnie holding the

the sales force fran seseu center remains closed. materials were supposed to start today and the work start no later than tomorrow. fremont street remains closed between mission and howard and buses are running out of the temporary terminal down the street. the transit center is supposed to remain closed through next week. the east bay sports bar is open for business following a morning fire. workers repaired the damage, and ricky's owners said the alarm system went off around 1:00 this morning, and a fire was p outme suspect a problem with the ice machine sparked the fire. berkeley police recovered a body this morning at the berkeley marina. few details were available, other than it was seen floating near a pier and the person that

spotted it called police around 8:00 this morning. san francisco police hope you can help them catch the person that punched a man and left him fighting for his life. the victim was attacked after mistaking his attacker's car for a rideshare. you can see what happened in the surveillance video. chris matthews approached the car at 1st and howard earlier in the car, and a guy gets out of the car and punches matthews, and he was unconscious for days and then struggled to remember who his wife was. >> i was a girlfriend and he didn't know who i was, and he didn't know he had kids and thought he lived with roommates, and so it was different hour-by-hour on what his answers were. >> his wife says his memory is now starting to come back. all lanes of interstate 280 after a van caught fire. several lanes were blocked while crews removed the van from the

in the east bay a memorial service was held for an iowa college student murdered over the summer. mollie tibbetts left a lasting impression with her church community. >> reporter: those who knew mollie tibbetts brought candles to fill it with light, the same light shown by her bright smile. >> the biggest question asked most often is why. >> father early knew the tibbetts family when molly attended corpus christi school before moving to iowa.

the ducks, yeah, travis dye, he has jets as well. 45 yards to give oregon the lead. these teams going back and forth early and then things fell apart for the bears before the half. mcawane gets hit, and winston scooped it up and went 61 yards. the bears down 18 at the half. early third quarter, it's the ducks breaking free, another big play. 74 yards on this one. oregon scored two plays later, and cal could not catch up falling 42-24. and then san jose state hosting hawaii. in the second quarter, it's the big man, boogie roberts pounding it in two yards to put sparty up, 7-3. and spartans did not want to win this game.

howard is days old and a little nervous. he was living in a nest out of public view, and now he's old enough to walk but can't swim, so if he stays in the exhibit near the pool he could drown, so he will spend the next six weeks behind the scenes being raised by his adoptive mother, pam. >> we are adopting to the diversity in pienguins. >> we really wanted to focus on these birds in particular because their numbers in the wild are declining. >> howard's most important job was to learn how to eat fish fillets, and luckily he's a quick study. >> he's beginning to understand these whole pieces of fish are what he should be feeding on. >> the academy also started looking for new penguins in other institutions.

five came from a zoo in idaho, and when they arrived they ranged from five months to a year old, and they were almost adult sized. the penguins flew in the cargo section of the jet and arrived in good shape. >> you know what it's like flying, you get a little tired. >> the first two penguins were taken to give the new exhibit a test run, and this time they travelled in kennels, and when they arrived it took a little coaxing. finally the big moment, the first penguin plunge into the new pool. a few days later the whole colony arrived, and the tape on the glass helped them learn it was a solid service so they would not try to swim into it. so far so good. the tank is 25,000 gallons, and there are 20 penguins living here now and they can swim right up to the visitors. remember howard? he's a year and a half old now. >> howard has a girlfriend.

the warriors open training camp on tuesday, and voila, five days later they are playing in the first pre-season game, golden state hosting the timberwolves. durant and the warriors other three healthy all stars started alongside damian jones. green knocked it out to the birthday boy that picked up an easy score. the warriors hit 5 of the first 7 shots.

that's not why we are showing you this. the fan threw it back and hit stanton. he got a salute from stanton, because he's in the visitors home field and so he should not the keep that ball, although that would not be a bad one to get signed because it's a record-setting ball. giants and dodgers, watching this one. l.a. jumps out to a 5-2 lead, and then the giants scored five off of kershaw. and now we are tied at five. with no on and two out in the ninth, the dodger send seven men to the plate and score four runs. ouch. dodgers win 10-6 and clinch the second wildcard.
