president trump slamming democrats, defending judge kavanaugh at a rally on the road. >> the entire nation has witnessed the shameless conduct of the democratic party. they've been on a mission to resist and obstruct and destroy. you see that over the last four days. >> reporter: democrats on the attack as well, now questioning judge kavanaugh's temperament after thursday's testimony where he showed flashes of anger. >> this confirmation process has become a national disgrace. you have replaced advice and consent with search and destroy. >> reporter: democratic senator chris coons telling "60 minutes." >> it made me wonder about his suitability to serve on the bench. >> fear that has been unfairly stoked about my judicial record, revenge on behalf of the clintons, and millions of dollars in money from outside

left-wing opposition groups. >> reporter: that comment raising eyebrows from republican senator jeff flake who ignited the fbi investigation. >> the part he talked about the mention of the clintons, i didn't like either. it seemed partisan, but, boy, i'd have to put myself in that spot. i think you give a little leeway there. >> i think the democrats could have avoided all of this. >> reporter: and a startling moment, the president's top aide kellyanne conway criticizing democrats while saying this -- >> i feel very empathetic, frankly, for victims of sexual assault and sexual harassment and rape. that -- i'm a victim of sexual assault. i don't expect judge kavanaugh or jake tapper or jeff flake or anybody to be held responsible for that. >> reporter: conway said she's empathetic to victims of sexual assault but that they should be heard in a courtroom and not a partisan hearing. earlier this week, she came to dr. ford's defense, saying she shouldn't be insulted or

ignored. tara palmeri, abc news, the white house. >> the fbi has conducted its first interview with the second accuser, the yale classmate who accused brett kavanaugh of sexual misconduct. sources say deborah ramirez stood by her claim that kavanaugh exposed himself to her at a dorm room party. she reportedly gave the agents a list of witnesses to corroborate her story. so far attorneys for christine blasey ford say she has not been contacted by the fbi. ford has already testified at length about her allegations that kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were in high school. fired fbi director james comey believes the fbi is up to the task despite the time constraint and divisive political climate. in "the new york times," comey criticized putting a seven-day clock on the kavanaugh investigation but he did say agents could quickly interview scores of people and follow leads unless they're limited by the trump administration. comey said one week to find facts is better than no investigation at all and he

added that it's not as hard as republicans hope it would be. the massachusetts senator elizabeth warren acknowledging that she is seriously thinking about taking on president trump in 2020. warren was asked about a possible white house run during a town hall meeting over the weekend. she said it's time for women to go to washington to fix our broken government. >> after november 6th, i will take a hard look at running for president. >> warren there saying after november 6th she'll take a hard look at running for president. now, she has frequently clashed with president trump and is currently running against a former trump campaign official for a second term in the senate. local and federal authorities are still scouring allentown, pennsylvania. they're searching for more clues in the blast that rocked that city. it left three people did including possibly the person who caused the explosion. here is daria albinger. >> reporter: powerful images of that deadly car explosion in allentown, pennsylvania, show flames erupting from the burning

vehicle, debris strewn everywhere. 911 calls coming in just after 9:30. >> we just had an explosion south of chew street. >> we're getting multiple calls. >> reporter: authorities saying three men died in the blast. >> we have a high degree of confidence that the perpetrator was probably killed in the incident. >> reporter: but revealing few other details, including the men's identities or the motive but calling the explosion a criminal incident. the blast rocking a downtown neighborhood, shattering windows, frightening residents. >> i just heard a big explosion. it scared me. i thought it was a house that blew up. >> reporter: the atf and fbi on the scene all day sunday blocking off the area around the charred vehicle. authorities saying this was an isolated incident yet asking those who live nearby to shelter in place. >> the safety of this community is the highest priority for all of us involved, and, again, at this time, we believe that there is no ongoing threat.

in thene displaced by the explosion. daria albinger, abc news, new york. well, today marks a dark chapter for this country. the anniversary of the las vegas concert massacre. there are now 58 crosses in a public memorial near the iconic welcome to las vegas sign. that's one cross for each of the people who died in that attack. more than 800 others were either injured or hurt while they ran away there. there are a series of events to mark the anniversary today, starting with a sunrise remembrance service. the country star jason aldean played an emotional concert over the weekend in california and dozens of vegas survivors there were. aldean, of course, was on stage at the route 91 harvest festival when the gunfire started. elon musk is out as chairman of tesla. he's also paying half of a $40 million penalty to settle a lawsuit filed by the government.

the suit claimed that musk misled investors with a tweet that said he was considering taking tesla private. the money will go to investors who were harmed. california governor jerry brown's signing of the nation's toughest net neutrality law drew an immediate lawsuit from the trump administration. the law requires internet providers to maintain a level playing field on line. but the justice department's lawsuit claims it creates an unnecessary burden for those providers. the suit claims that goes against the government's wish to deregulate the internet. now to one of the coolest things you will see all day, a music video in space? >> in space! space station commander gave his own version of a farewell tour from high above the earth yesterday. now, he isn't just the leader of what will end up being a 197-day 83-million mile mission, he's also the lead singer of the station's astronaut band because that's a thing.
