starting to come to bart stations here in the bay area. live in walnut creek, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news the scooter company lime is sour after not making the cut for the pilot program. today the company, which is based in the city, wants you to show up on its behalf. the company is especially couraging riders to use today's land use and committee meeting. on the agenda, supervisors will discuss how the finalists for that permit program were selected. lime and bird got left out. lime does appealing the decision. it's 4:30. let's get a quick update on your traffic and weather. hi there, drew. >> hi. good morning, guys. live doppler 7 right now, you notice it is quiet with the active sweep. but this time tomorrow will be tracking light showers moving through the region. let's go hour by hour. cloud cover early on. you'll notice it is rather humid

>> thanks, alexis. now questions this morning after the size and scope of the fbi investigation into supreme court nominee brett kavanaugh. efplly rouse joins us >> reporter: president trump is supportive of the fbi investigation which he ordered with conditions that it be limited in scope and finished by this friday. the fbi investigation into accusations against brett kavanaugh is officially under way. while lawyers for christine blasey ford say so far agents have not spoken to her, the fbi has talked with kavanaugh's second accuser, deborah ramirez, a yale classmate who claims kavanaugh exposed himself at a dorm party. a source tells abc news, ramirez provided a list of witnesses. on "60 minutes", chris coons and

republican jeff flake, who forced the investigation, agreeing -- >> if judge kavanaugh is shown to have lied to the committee, nomination is over? >> oh, yes, i would think so. >> reporter: investigators do not plan to interview kavanaugh's classmates month contradict his testimony about his drinking >> isn't that relevant given there clearly was drinking going on? at least it's alleged at the party? >> no. i think you're trying to portray him as a stumbling, bumbling drunk, gang rapist. >> a former college friend trying this letter in the new york sometimes saying, quote, in denying the possibility that he ever blacked out while drinking and in down playing the degree julie swetnick claims she witnessed calf knauf mistreat women at parties in high school. kavanaugh strongly denies all allegations.

>> reporter: senator dianne feinstein asked the fbi for the full list of instructions provided by president trump. te white house said over the weekend the president is not micromanaging this investigation. >> emily, we heard a lot from the special prosecutor speaking on behalf of the republicans on the committee. what saying now? >> reporter: reggie, over the weekend a memo came out that rachel mitchell, the special prosecutor to question christine blasey ford, a memo five pages long detailing why she would not recommend charges against brett kavanaugh based on what christine blasey ford said. she outlined several reasons why, lists things like inconsistencies in her story, and gaps in blasey ford's memory that she says, you know, make this not even a he said/she said case in rachel mitch will el's view. this is even weaker than that. the democrats, of course, are coming back already and expecting to say this was not

he now current live works at university of texas cancer center in houston. happening now, crews working to shore up cracked steel beams at the salesforce transit center in san francisco. the materials they are using to shore up the $2 billion building were delivered over the weekend. fremont remains blocked between mission and howard. trap sit officials should know by tomorrow when they could partially reopen. the trump administration is suing the state of california over net neutrality that governor brown just signed into is law. it guarantees full and equal access to the internet. among other things, internet providers cannot block or slow data based on content or favor websites or video streams from companies that maestra. the justice department announced the lawsuit shortly after the

governor signed the bill yesterday. the department says the federal government has exclusive power to right the rules of the web. telecom companies are expected to file their own lawsuits. governor brown has vetoed a bill that would have allowed san francisco to taupe a supervised safe injection site for in extra venous drug users. enabling illegal and destructive drug use will never work. san francisco could still go ahead and open a site, but it would violate state and federal law. mayor breed says she's going to move to push the effort forward. today marks 25 years since the kidnapping and murder of polly class. she was taken from her home in petaluma at knifepoint during a shraupl better party. searchers spent two months looking for any signs of her before her body was found. a jury keubgted davis and is still awaiting execution. a remembrance will take place in

pacific grove today. canada and the u.s. have narrowly averted a possible trade war. late last night canada agreed to sign a trade deal between the u.s. and mexico. it replaces nafta, which president trump has criticized for years. the agreement many give american farmers greater access to canada's dairy market. meanwhile, canada will get protection from tariffs for its automobile industry. the agreement goes to congress, which can suggest changes. and good morning. 4 whrpb 38 on this monday morning. it is a mild morning as well. a little bit on the muggy side, too. temperature-wise, good morning east bay, san leandro, it's 50. alameda, close to the warm or water 61. area wide, waking up to 50s and 60s. 60, san francisco. 61 for san jose. later on today, you'll notice it's not only muggy out there, the clouds will be thickening throughout the afternoon. that's going to limit temperatures into the afternoon.

facebook possibly facing a huge fine after a major data breach. and the growth of the number of americans using the internet is leveling off. here's this morning's "tech bites". >> in today's "tech bites", facebook is facing a big possible fine. >> it follows the data breach that compromised 50 million accounts. european regulators want to know if the company's reaction to the breach violated new privacy laws. a potential fine could be more than $1.6 billion. the internet's long stretch of growth may finally be slowing down. >> the new study is shows 89% of people use the internet and 77% use smartphones. but that number remains up changed since 2016. the plateau is contribute to go there not be many non-users left. >> and your smartphone may be making your dog depressed. >> researchers in uk may cause your dog anxiety. the body's body language, eye contact, and facial expressions. and if we're on our phones, dogs
