i saw maybe some pink, something that was about this big >> reporter: once the light turned green and ricky started to cross the intersection, he realized that it was a little girl standing right here in the middle of the street. >> i had to slam on the brakes. then i had to hop out of my car and ran over to grab her. i didn't know if she was going to continue across the street. >> reporter: the 2-year-old was scared and crying. he took a selfie with her and a friend from church while waiting for police. it was 8:00 can a.m. the girl's mother and family were asleep. >> the mom was still really upset. so i went over to the mom. i said, listen, you know, don't worry about what happened. just use all that extra energy you can to prevent it from happening again. >> reporter: that's what ricky did on sunday. his 7-year-old niece was hit and killed while crossing a road in michigan over the summer. ever since, ricky has been extra vigilant while driving. in fairfield, kate larson, abc 7 news. i'm so glad that young child is okay this morning.

attorney george gagagaga run for re-election. it does not allow him time to care for his 90-year-old mother. he said at this time of my life it's the only choice i can live with. he thanked the city for their support. his term expires at the end of 2019. the giants are making changes to get fans home a little earlier. fans will start at 6:45 instead of 7:15. on the weekend, they will continue to keep the later start time. the ceo says the change will better serve fans and families during the workweek a new study finds 1 in 3 adults it's fast food every day. the more money you make, the more likely you are to eat at fast food restaurants.
