to vote, including some who aren't even citizens. amy holly field is live in walnut creek with more on this mistake. >> reporter: good morning, jessica. the reaction out of sacramento has been strong. the secretary of state says it's disappointed and frustrated. one state lawmaker says it's time for new leadership at the dmv. the dmv admitted yesterday that workers at the agency may have incorrectly registered 1500 people to vote, including some noncitizens. the dmv says the error has been fixed and affected customers will be notified. this is the latest embarrassment for the agency. last month the dmv said it had errors in voter registration data for 23,000 people so the government ordered an audit of the agency and that's how they found the latest mistake. this comes after weeks of complaints and criticism over the long lines at the dmv with people waiting for hours to get the new driver's license and new

limousine driver was not properly licensed. the limo failed inspection a month ago. the company called prestige limb zeen was on "gma" this more than and he says the inspection was only over minor issues and they were all fixed. he says the department of transportation met with officials last week and the cars were cleared to be on the road. an investigation is ongoing. an east bay limousine company with the same name says it is losing business as a result of the crash in new york. the owner of prestige limousine in concord says it has no on fillation with the limo company involved in the crash. >> reporter: someone threw pumpkins at the prestige limousine in con cord. >> we didn't get a lot of clients calling to make reservations at all. it's been dead on that end. >> reporter: the company's dispatcher says people are canceling reservations, too. four so far. customers are concerned the

business is related to the limo company involved in saturday's horrific crash in upstate new york. both happen to share the same name. >> we have to keep clarifying we're not part of it. >> reporter: rebecca is the owner of prestige limo. >> i feel it's really hard to be judged for something you haven't done anything and you're not part of it. >> reporter: prestige limousine has been based in concord since 1996. they have a staff of 19 drivers, all of whom have undergone background checks. they've also required to go l soon safety, training and pass. >> we hope they'll give us our fair shake. >> reporter: in the meantime, the limousines sit idle for now.

to hack computers. a company called super micro built servers for apple and a subsidiary. bloomberg showed a secret u.s. government may have found spy chips in the servers and it may have been used to steal intellectual property and trade secrets. a bakery in san francisco's mission district will close for good today. la victoria opened 66 years ago. the same family owns the building. it's being sold following a disagreement among family members. the closure will also affect about half a dozen businesses that lease space in the commercial kitchen to cook and bake. new details on how scoot networks and skip transport beat out other companies like bird and lime for scooter permits in san francisco. the companies decided to ask for permission first, not

let's take a look at what's going on in san jose. you're one of the few areas that today. you'll reach 80 after being 60 this morning. the sea breeze will spread to all neighborhoods by tomorrow morning with more clouds and patchy fog for the commute. now, the coolness doesn't linger long. it gets warm once again for the weekend. let's take a look at the cloud cover. it's lining up along the coast right now. and pushing across the golden gate and over towards the east bay. by noon it's back to the coast. look at this, by 4:00, 5:00, it's starting to make a quicker push to the east. you'll see increasing clouds during yourl evening commute. everybody down south in the mid to upper 70s. 71 in millbrae. we'll have mid-60s along the coast. same thing with 68 in san francisco, expect that to drop during the afternoon hours also. we'll have 77 in san rafael to

72 in santa rosa. 68 in richmond to castro valley in fremont to 76. we'll be in the low to upper 50s for lows tonight. look at that, only 60s and 70s for highs. the coolest day because 80s return to inland neighborhoods thursday and possibly some areas around the bay starting friday. frances is here. if you're taking the bay bridge, you'll want to hear this update. >> once there's a stall on the bay bridge, you know that causes things to back up. here's a live shot right now on the incline section of the bay bridge approaching treasure island. you can seellhose brake lights in the right lane. that means with that backup they've turned the metering lights on a little early so everything is starting to back up towards the 880 overcrossing at this point. we'll keep an eye on this and hopefully they'll clear it soon. san mateo bridge looks clear. better news on the peninsula, all lanes reopened. traffic has recovered pretty quickly. there is a crash through the

priests accused of abuse. the archdiocese of san francisco is considering a similar move. in the north bay, firefighters are making steady progress on wildfire near sassoon city. the fire did destroy a house yesterday belonging to a rnanch caretaker. another building burned sunday, the same day the fire began, already scorching 40,000 acres of land and 80% contained. napa county officials will test wireless emergency alert system. it will be done at the board of supervisors meeting at 9:30 this morning. a wireless alert text message wen and around napa county. these alerts come exactly one year after the north bay wildfires. one santa rosa neighborhood that burnt to the ground in the north bay fire celebrated its collective progress over the

for evacuation routes away from the storm's projected strike zone. more than 1200 national guardsmen have been activated. mike, you've been tracking the storm's path. >> absolutely. let's take a look at the last 12 hours from the satellite perspective. it's color coded to show you when those purples start showing up and look how they're becoming more in a circular fashion, that's when the storm is winding up. category 2 with 100-mile-per-hour winds. let's track it as we head towards panama city tomorrow right around lunch to 1:00. the winds and storm surge will be a much bigger problem with michael than they were with florence. flooding not as much as it moves rather quickly around macon, georgia,ure erght hours wednesday into thursday morning. then right through columbia, south carolina, into the eastern parts of north carolina, where it could aggravate some flooding because the ground is still saturated from florence. that will happen thursday night into friday morning. i'll have more on the storm surge and rain coming up in about 20 minutes.

new accidents just reported on 101. heads up, chp is on its way. one in the south bay at allen rock and another one in the peninsula, north 101 approaching woodside. we're seeing lots of heavy traffic on eastbound 580 due to roadwork that will be out there until 7:00 this morning. that's causing an 11-minute delay. of course, we have the usual brake lights westbound 205 through the altamont pass. that drive time is now 15 minutes on westbound 580, tracy to dublin. also some slowing southbound 680 as you make your way from dublin to mission boulevard south in fremont. that's now a 21-minute trip. jessica, reggie. >> thank you. sting canceled a concert hours before he was set to perform at san francisco's masonic hall last night. he was scheduled to perform with shagg shaggy. the masonic tweeted this 20 minutes before the doors were to open saying, sting is ill and

look at novato, san francisco, cooler. back in the 60s and 70s. as we head into flu season there's a new study about keeping germs away. researchers took a closer look at whether soap and water or hand sanitizer works better. >> 900 children took part in the study in spain and researchers divided them into groups and stud!ied their hygiene. one group washed their hands with soap and water, one used hand sanitizer and a third group did whatever they wanted to do. kids using hand sanitizer had 23% fewer respiratory infections. those hand washing were 31% more likely to need antibiotics. >> we hear this perennial debate, i want to be crystal clear. they're both important. they both work. but you don't always have a sink
